I think I have to finally cancel my subscription. The samples are so small compared to other boxes I receive. Bummer I have been getting this box for years. It seems their value has plummeted.

I so hope that I’m getting one of the Brow makeup Samples!! I still can’t peek at my samples.

Just watching a review from a woman in the UK and they got metal tin containers instead of the boxes. I’m jealous! Something about it’s the 5 anniversary of birchbox.

I got 2 similar Beauty Protector hair products and 2 similar acne prone skin products plus the highlighter. Wth?

There are 22 items I have received from Birchbox samples prior and I cancelled 2 years ago. How long do they keep some of these samples for? Some of those products I sampled were good products, but I would be so annoyed to receive the same things year after year.

Me three! It always seems like it’s the same few products and I cancelled years ago!

Same. I thought it was just me…
(Also canceled a couple of years ago.)

Waaaaaaay too much hair stuff. Solidified my decision to not subscribe.

NO!! My personal opinion is Ipsy is better than all 3 of the $10 bags/boxes!! It’s personal preference really. Watch some YouTube videos on each subscription before you make your decision, but watch a couple videos on each of the subscriptions. Good luck on your choosing!!!

Ipsy got really disappointing in December and I finally cut them loose in April.
So long as I don’t get any of the liquid liners (hate), I think I’ll be happy.

Do you get to pick your items or do you get what they send you like Ipsy?

IV
You have options to pick between the one sample choice box (the rest will be surprised like ipsy) or curated box.

Exactly what IV said is spot on……. thanks for pointing out. I completely blanked out when I wrote my original response.

Like Ipsy, you get what they send you loosely based on your profile.

Is this sub better then ipsy and play?

I like Birchbox so far. I am on my third month and again I chose the curated box. They are different from Ipsy and Play because you do have the option to choose a sample you want to try. So far I have preferred the curated box and I have liked most of the products. I do get Ipsy and Play, and I am considering getting rid of Play because I think they could do a better job of matching products to my profile. I have been a little frustrated with Play, but I’m going to stick with them for the time being. As far as Birchbox goes, I like getting hair care and body care samples, and if you do too, then maybe give it a try. It’s only $10, so I definitely consider it budget friendly.

No, they also constantly send repeats and perfume samples count as an item. I wouldn’t recommend Sephora Play anymore either. Ipsy is good, there’s always something at $10 a bag and I am usually happy with all of 4/5 of my products and lots of full size items or brushes etc

I like that birchbox has a bigger variety, a curated box and a better store. Seems like i get a black eyeliner, a bronzer, a blush and black mascara in every other ispy bag. I’m overflowing! I have cancelled both for now but I resub with Birchbox when I see a curated box I like.

No. This one has very small samples, almost always. More hair and skincare than make up. I think its a waste but it depends on what you really like to receive. (I dislike getting hair care in boxes)

NO!!! Birchbox’s samples are tiny and they will only send you 1-2 makeup products and the rest are skin care and hair care. Ipsy is a lot better if you are looking for more makeup products and there samples are a lot bigger. Birchbox sends there samples in a box and Ipsy sends there’s in a reusable makeup bag. Really I love Ipsy a lot better than Birchbox, Ipsy’s samples are a lot bigger and better plus you get the bag, Birchbox samples are tiny and you get a box. Watch some YouTube videos to see for yourself and than maybe you can see better what each subscription offers. Like I said Birchbox is small samples and they are more hair care and skin care products where as to Ipsy they will send you bigger samples and more makeup products if that’s what you are looking for!!! I suggest watching YouTube and than make your decision.

I chose the curated box. I wish I had received the Oribe Dry texturing spray. I just spent $44 buying one at Walgreens and would love to get one any opportunity I can. Love it. Looks like pretty good samples. Only spotted a couple liquid eyeliners and that’s a good thing. Not much makeup at all this month.

I’m pretty happy with my box this month. I like 4/5 items and after 10 months with them, this is the first time I am finally receiving s&c and not a hair styling product (which I don’t use). The only other product this month I won’t use is the highlighter.
*Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl mascara (my pick)
*Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil-free Gel Cream
*Apothecare The Booster Shampoo
*Apothecare The Booster Conditioner
*Wander Beauty Catch the Light Highlighter and Glowtion
