Now on to the items!

Beautaniq Beauty Glow Serum - 6 ml Value $6.90

This is a super pigmented/shimmery liquid highlighter with apricot fruit extract plus aloe vera, so it's nourishing to your skin, too. Here it is swatched:

The rose gold/champagne color is gorgeous, and it's pretty easy to blend before it sets. (But once it sets, it stays put!) And a little goes a long way, so this sample should last me for a while!

R+Co Waterfall Moisture + Shine Lotion - 15 ml Value $2.50

This styling cream reminds me of the signature Ouai scent! It's lightweight, works on damp or dry hair, and added softness without weighing down my hair.

Davines SU Hair & Body Wash - 2.5 oz Value $7.20

I’ve sampled this before, and it’s as luxe as it looks. The scent is fresh and slightly powdery, and I love a multi-use product for summer travel!

Red Earth Deep Dive Water Cream - .25 oz Value $3.47

This gel/cream hybrid is giving me Laneige vibes in the best way!

The formula is so light and soothing. It absorbed almost instantly, felt great on my skin - it's an ideal summer moisturizer for me.

Beauty Blender Sample - Value?

I'm not sure if I'd assign any value to this. It's maybe a good disposable solution for traveling if you don't want to worry about cleaning your full-size beauty blender, but it's not as easy to use as a true beauty blender.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $20 - I think that's good for a $10 beauty box. In general, the curated boxes from Birchbox tend to have a good value, so if that's important to you, I recommend picking those each month! I liked everything in this box, and the Red Earth product is my favorite new discovery - the price for the full-size is really reasonable, too!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this box is available for a one-time purchase! And if you subscribe to Birchbox now, your first box will be the July box. (Tip: Check the image on the sign-up page. The box design pictured is the first month you'll receive.) You can't pick the curated box as your first box, but you'll be able to pick it every month moving forward.

The beauty blender sample was far to small to be useable. Of all the products I liked the
R+Co Waterfall Moisture + Shine Lotion .
This was by first box when I signed up. But as I was more interested in make-up items which I stated in my preferences, I cancelled my subscription as was not impressed.
I have now signed up to Ipsy which is the same price but far better in my opinion and better value as l used all the products I received that month and much more tailored to my preferences in the beauty profile.

I just signed up, again. I got a box in Feb 2016 and cancelled after. I think I was confused about this back then, too – how/where do you select whether you want the curated or mystery box? I find their website to be counterintuitive for some important functions… maybe it’s just my phone

Cai

I figured their app would be more straightforward so I downloaded it and found it right away.

I was happy with this curated box because I chose it for everything except the Beauty blender. Figured I’d use the BB on a trip or day I’m in a hurry.

I forgot to pick which box I wanted and wow, was I surprised! I received the following based on my profile.
Wander Beauty Catch the Light Highlighter and Glowtion
KNC Collagen Lip Mask
Ouai Volume Spray
Georgette Klinger Coconut Cleansing Milk
Whal Myung Skin Elixir
Did the math on each and the box totaled $27.55! And I loved everything!

Wasn’t that the May curated box choice? I could swear I got that exact box last month…

Lisa

Haha! Yes. Talk about box overload. This is what I received for June.
Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle and a
Protect and Oil
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil Free Gel Cream
PEEK Beauty Metallmatte Blush
Vasanti Brighten Up Enzymatic Rejuvenator
$27.00 and yes, I was happy.
Sorry about that. I need a vacation!

KatS

That’s weird…this is the May curated box selection. Guess they had leftovers?

I specifically got this box for the beauty blender and was so disappointed. I thought it was going to be a mini, not just a weird little sample. Highlighters aren’t for me, the lotion wasn’t vegan, so the whole box was a bust.

Paula

Me too. And to add insult to injury, I still haven’t received my box. I’m done with birchbox…

I laughed when I opened my box and saw the size of that beauty blender sample. For me, it was like the allure makeup eraser sample fiasco all over again. Why send a sample size of a product that isn’t useable for anything?

Otherwise, this was a good box though. The highlighter and water gel were favorite new products.

Mo too, that was one of the reasons i chose the curated box was to try it, and the old water that came with it….gross. it really was a huge disappointment.

Redhed36

I haven’t opened mine yet. How big did it expand once wet?

Reply ButtonReply

KatS

Yeah, I was pretty disappointed too. It expanded a tiny bit, but not a whole lot. Its not much bigger than my thumb.

Jessi

it didn’t expand at all. It’s more like a sliver of a beauty blender, not even a mini size.
