When you sign up, you fill out an extensive style profile. They ask what kind of items you would like to receive along with size, color, style, and price point preferences. Each category is ranked with a like, dislike, or love. There is also a space to leave notes for your stylist. By the end, your stylist should have a very good idea of what you like and don’t like.

Each edit includes 5-6 clothing and accessories items picked for you by your stylist using your style profile. You have 5 days to try everything on and to send what you don’t want to purchase back in the included prepaid envelope. My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Wantable Style Edit may be completely different!

Wantable Style Edit May 2018 Review

I received an interesting mix of seasonal and not-so-seasonal items this month. Let’s check it out:

Each edit includes a booklet with a note from your stylist and an invoice. This month, my stylist Miranda sent me 6 clothing items and 1 accessory.

And here’s my invoice. If I were to keep the entire box, the $468 total would be discounted $113.60 (20% off + $20 styling fee deducted) for a total of $354.40. With this discount, each item would cost an average of $50.63.

Wantable also includes a prepaid return envelope for any items I don’t want to keep.

Let’s start with two pieces I paired together:

Bobi Knot Front Tee in Black, M

Bobi Knot Front Tee in Black, size M - Cost to Keep $48 (Return)

This cotton/poly blend fabric is smooth and soft and the knot detail adds a little upgrade to the basic tee. I’d say this is more of a heather gray than black. I think it’s just a little too snug and I would prefer a bit more flow. The knot seems to add bulk right at my hip line so I’m going to send this back.

Meritage Super Skinny in Ocean Depth Wash, 28

Meritage Super Skinny in Ocean Depth Wash, 28 - Cost to Keep $88 (Return)

These pants are a unique shade of blue that could be cute for summer. They are very soft and stretchy and are the perfect length to either cuff or wear down. I like that the fading detail is simple; they are statement enough as-is. I feel like I’d be limited to white, black, and gray with these and I’m just not loving them enough to justify keeping them.

Kut From The Kloth Jasmine Floral Blouse in Pink, M - Cost to Keep $68 (Return)

This top is sheer and flowy and the roll-tab sleeves give it a bit of structure. I appreciate the springy floral for this top and think the color works well with my complexion. But, I’m picky about my patterns, especially florals, and this one just doesn’t wow me.

W. by Wantable Meadow Hoop Earrings in Silver

W. by Wantable Meadow Hoop Earrings in Silver - Cost to Keep $40 (Return)

This is the first of two items I requested from the Stream that my stylist included this month. I like the updated twist on the classic hoop. They are delicate but not so much that they get lost in my hair. You can see above that they seem to disappear from the front but stand out in profile. I like these but I have a couple of pairs of earrings that are very similar.

Here’s another outfit:

W. by Wantable Cage Sleeve Sweater in Black, M

W. by Wantable Cage Sleeve Sweater in Black, M - Cost to Keep $68 (Keep)

Ready for a keeper? How about this thin black sweater with cage sleeves? Yes! While this isn’t very seasonal, I can’t wait to wear it this fall. The fabric is smooth, stretchy, and a true black. The rolled collar and ribbed trim gives a little attitude and I love the side split and that the back is longer than the front. Sadly, there is a hole in the collar. I’m opting to keep it anyway since I think I can mend it. Customer service is helpful if you ever run into a problem with an item, so I recommend reaching out.

Blank NYC Brass Knuckles Trouser in Camo, 28 - Cost to Keep $88 (Keep)

I was waffling on whether I liked these pants but John convinced me that I should keep them (not a hard task). I’m not typically a cargo pant person but these are streamlined and don’t add bulk. I love the tan/olive color and the dark metal details look so nice. They are cropped and have zippers at the ankle. I’ve shown you how it looks zipped up and unzipped above.

W. by Wantable Wrap Front Belted Coat in Black, M

Here is the second requested item included this month! I’ve needed a simple black jacket for cooler weather and, though this won’t be worn for a while, I’m happy to have it. The material is similar to a soft sweatshirt and I love that I can move freely in it. It has a structured look that can be worn three ways (shown above) but is comfortable enough to lounge in. A button was trying to escape but I can fix that easily.

The Verdict: It is so convenient to be able to try on clothes on at home, with my existing wardrobe, and on my own time. Plus, it is so fun to receive so many items! I’m glad to have received two requested items from my Stream and I highly recommend using that feature. This is the first month I’ve encountered damaged items but since I liked the pieces so much, and they are easy fixes, I decided to keep them. Funny enough, the items I kept were all not suitable for hot weather. I guess I just like fall clothes better. Since I only kept 3 items, I didn’t receive the 20% discount, but my $20 styling fee was applied to my purchase. For $20 a month (which also includes free shipping and returns), Wantable Style Edit is a low-risk way of shopping for clothes in the comfort of your home.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Wantable curates its boxes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $20.00 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $468. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 20% discount. The $20.00 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $354.40 for the whole box. That's a discount of about 24%.

You could totally pair that pinky top with the aqua pants. They woulda paired well together.

Sending clothes that are ripped or with holes and loose buttons isn’t acceptable to me. The price point is way to high for damaged items. The jacket is adorable on you!

$68 for a sweater with 2 holes in it? No way could I let that slide. Customer service should give you a big discount on the damaged item they sent you. I love the cargo pants, they look great on you. Those jeans are awesome! I’d love a pair that color.

Those camo trousers are amazing!

The black sweater though? It’s cute but it’s already falling apart at the seams and the collar. How much life does it have left? 😛

I have to say, there is nothing more frustrating than reading these reviews, seeing all the great stuff reviewers get, trying something out, and having a really terrible experience. After reading a few reviews here I decided to give Wantable a try. The prices were all way outside my price preference, I didn’t get what I requested in my stream, and I specifically said dislike to Boho styles and received: Boho styles. You’re not supposed to get things you say you dislike. 3 tank tops over $65. One of them in the Boho example picture on the site. SMH. The only thing I can say for them is I found the dress I decided to keep on sale for $35 on Overstock and they refunded me the difference. I’m going to put Wantable in the file with Stitch Fix and Trunk Club. Never again.

I loved those ocean skinnies and thought your keeps were great choices! I am miffed that they sent you damaged items though- those are expensive pieces for you to need to be able to fix. I’m curious on if they would give you a discount for keeping damaged items.
