Ulta Beauty Pamper Yourself Box May 2018 Review

Being by Sanctuary Spa Cloudberry & Lychee Blossom Body Lotion, 1.01 oz

Being by Sanctuary Spa Cloudberry & Lychee Blossom Body Lotion, 1.01 oz - Estimated Value $1.20 (Buy a 10.14 oz bottle for $12)

I liked the gel-cream consistency of this lotion, but to me, it had a nondescript fruit scent. It was still pleasant, but I really wish the smell of the juicy lychee was more prominent. Also, what is a cloudberry? Can you eat it? If you can, I can’t purchase it at my local Albertson’s. This is a good lotion for the hot summer months ahead, as it won’t leave you feeling greasy.

The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel, 2 oz

The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel, 2 oz - Retail Value $5

Satsuma Trees grow here in south Louisiana, so I was excited to see this southern citrus as the scent of this shower gel. This lathered well but didn't leave my skin feeling dry at all, and it left my skin smelling zesty.

Fizz & Bubble Spearmint Eucalyptus Bath Fizzy, 6.5 oz

Fizz & Bubble Spearmint Eucalyptus Bath Fizzy, 6.5 oz - Retail Value $6

I am a sucker for anything scented with mint or eucalyptus, so combining them together is one of my favorite things. This turned my bath water a fun teal color, and my nose enjoyed the delicious scent while my skin drank up the aloe vera and coconut oil that is used in this bath bomb.

H2O+ Beauty Specialty Care Hand & Nail Cream, 2 oz

H2O+ Beauty Specialty Care Hand & Nail Cream, 2 oz - Estimated Value $5 (Buy a 6 oz tube for $15)

This hand cream wasn't too thick and absorbed quickly, however it did leave my hands feeling a tad greasy. This didn't have a discernible scent-it just smelled like the classic baby powder lotion I grew up with!

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Body Lotion, 3.2 oz

SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Body Lotion, 3.2 oz - Estimated Value $2.71 (buy a 13 oz bottle for $10.99)

The light coconut scent of this lotion is really lovely, and it provides great hydration without being greasy. This is probably the thickest body lotion of the bunch, and I have been using it on my elbows and forearms much to my skins satisfaction.

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter, 1.69 oz

Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter, 1.69 oz - Estimated Value $2.51 (buy a 10.1 oz jar for $15)

This body butter is light and creamy, and it absorbed into my skin quickly leaving my legs feeling smooth and supple. This is supposedly scented with notes of bergamot, mandarin, and rose, however, my nose just categorized it as “clean” smelling. My nose failure aside, I enjoyed this! It provided great moisture without being too heavy.

The Verdict: If you couldn't tell by my love of reviewing bath and body subscription boxes, I am allllll about the pampering of oneself. I thought this was a great kit to try different brands that Ulta offers, as several of these brands were new to me. Ultra promised a value of $31.99, however, I calculated an estimated value of only $22.42. That isn't that much more of the $9.99 cost of the box plus $5.95 shipping, however, it is a good deal if you can pick this up at your local Ulta instead of ordering it online!

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, this box is sold out online. You may be able to find it at your local Ulta, however.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $15.94 ($9.99 + $5.95 shipping), and I calculated a value of $22.42. That means you are paying approximately the following per item (less, if you get free shipping or purchase it in store).

  • Being by Sanctuary Spa Body Lotion: $0.85
  • The Body Shop Satsuma Shower Gel: $3.55
  • Fizz & Bubble Spearmint Eucalyptus Bath Fizzy: $4.27
  • H2O+ Beauty Specialty Care Hand & Nail Cream: $3.55
  • SheaMoisture Coconut & Hibiscus Body Lotion: $1.93
  • Soap & Glory The Righteous Butter: $1.78

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I am from Newfoundland and we have cloudberries here as well, but we call them bakeapples. A little orange berry that is quite sweet. Makes for a great jam or even as a topping for cheesecake.

I bought this a few weeks ago when it came out at the stores, and this was the more popular of the 3 boxes and went quickly. Probably more popular simply because the box was larger and the items were packaged better.

I’ve tried everything and share most of the sentiments of the reviewer, however I really, really liked the Righteous Butter. It reminded me of Body Shop’s body butter. Very creamy and quick absorbing. The scent did seem a little soapy and clean-like, but that was good for me, since I have so many Body Shop fruits and florals.

Kind of a boring box. Cloudberries I believe are from Norway. Pretty popular over there and yes they are eaten.

Yes cloudberries grows in the nordic countries like Norway, Sweden and Finland. It looks like golden raspberries. You can make for example cloudberry jam.

I also found that they grow in Canada, Russia, Greenland and the US.
