Pinup in a Pack April 2018 Review
1950s Inspired Classic Tortoise Brown and Gold Retro Cat Eye Sunglasses – Retail Value $15
If you guys were unaware, I am a fiend for cat eye glasses. One could blame it on seeing Grease and How to Marry a Millionaire as a kiddo, but my love for the style is a lifelong one. Good for me, cat eyes are rather popular. Pinup in a Pack has offered other styles that were featured in my September, November, and January box reviews. This pair is a bit more subdued than the other ones I received previously, but just as timeless and fetching. They are rather light weight and the tortoise shell frames have gold detailing for a special touch. These sunglasses will pair with anything from a wild zebra print dress like mine to a mock turtleneck dress and heels for some Jackie O’ chic!
2pc Leopard Print Glitter Bangle Set
Some consider diamonds to be a girl’s best friend, but for me leopard print everything is mine! When I saw these bangles I wailed, “WAAAAHOOOO!” I am a sucker for a good kitschy piece and these nailed it! I have been wearing these bracelets quite a bit since receiving this box. They add a glitz to even my most casual outfits. These bracelets fit over my knuckles comfortably and they are made from a light weight resin. With these bangles, you too can live your Peg Bundy fantasy. Bon-bons and Al not included.
Single Black Bead Necklace
The other two pieces in this box wowed me, but I can’t say I was terribly impressed with this necklace. The quality is decent, but it is a bit eh compared to the other standout pieces. Sure, its subtle and classic style does complement the other pieces well, but there is no wow to it. In addition, the length hits in a weird spot on me.
Verdict: April’s Pinup in a Pack definitely was the polar opposite of last month’s selections I reviewed, but that is not a bad thing! I loved the sunglasses and leopard bangles this month so much that they make up for my indifference regarding the beaded necklace. Those two pieces alone make the April month a winner. Those two pieces make the $19.99 price for this subscription box a great value since I will get so much wear from them both.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, the April box is not available, but you can find similar pieces at Pinup in a Pack. Also, you can sign up for the June box now!
Value Breakdown: This box is $19.99 and that includes free shipping. Three items are included in each box making their estimated value around $6.66 each. The glasses are on the Pinup in a Pack site for $15. I was able to find a similar bracelet for $7.99 and a necklace at $9.99 on eBay, but that pricing can always be a bit higher or lower depending on the seller. All in all, I was able to receive three great pieces for $19.99, a great overall value for me!
