FYI - Ricky's NYC Cult Crushes has sent out an update on the May shipping delay:

Hey Cult Crushers,

First off - we are so sorry for the delay in your delivery!

Here's the deal! There was an unexpected delay in one shipment but the good news is that the shipment is expected to arrive today. As soon as it gets in, we're packing the final item into your boxes and shipping it out to you as fast as we can.

Again, we apologize for this delay. We're a small team here at Cult Crushes but we're working hard to get everything to you as fast as we possibly can in the wake of this unfortunate shipping issue.

Replacement item is the make up remover wipes from October box. Comodynes 20 pack towelettes for normal skin retail for $6.99 on Comodynes website or $14 on Amazon.

The replacement product is some sort of makeup removing wipes even though last month’s box had makeup removing wipes in it. Glad I canceled. Such a mess.

Cult crushes just sent out this email

Hey Cult Crushers,

We just got word our Bioderma shipment is officially arriving next week. We’ve heard you loud and clear and we don’t want to keep you waiting, so we’re working overtime this weekend to ship out your May boxes minus the Bioderma.

In its place we’ll provide an extra little goody, and as soon as we get the Bioderma next week we will send it to you as a separate shipment.

I did get a response from them saying boxes would be shipped by end of week. End of week! It is already super late. Why didn’t you just replace whatever you are waiting for like you did with my palette? I noticed on YouTube every May unboxing is from new subscribers. There is not a single regular doing an unboxing yet which makes me think they have not received a box either!! And every single one of them loved it which is kinda fishy to me.

I think MSA ate my last message. 🙁 It keeps telling me it’s a duplicate but I don’t see my message show up at all. Sorry if it ends up posting more than one..twice..

For those of you who cancelled after Ricky’s took your money via (c.c. / paypal) did you get your money refunded back into your account or do you have to go bug Ricky’s customer service for the money?? I sent them an email letting them know I cancelled on their website and that the money was already taken, I’ve been waitlisted since April, I have yet to receive May’s box. At this point I’m okay with not receiving the box and just getting my money back and hope they don’t try to hit up my Paypal for any money next month. I don’t see anywhere where Paypal payment might be attached to the account? On the subscription page it does say ‘cancelled’ but on the other page it still list the subscription as processing.

I sent an email to the address customercare @rickys with CANCELLATION in all caps in the subject line. They got back to me within a few hours. I went into detail as to why in was cancelling, that it wasn’t a temporary 1 month cancel but a permanent cancellation, how disappointed I was in both the April and May boxes, how their online customer interactions seemed to be full of nasty attitude and rudeness and that’s if they responded at all and finally how the lack of response to the emails i have personally sent was the very last straw.

When they responded they verified cancellation for June and beyond and asked if I still wanted my May box. Since it hadn’t shipped the charge on my bank account was still pending and hadn’t been processed yet. I emailed back right away and said yes, pls cancel my May box as well. I didn’t receive an actual refund bc like I said the charge was still pending. The charge just disappeared from my bank acct overnight last night just like they said it would.

I was waitlisted in April, Ricky’s took the money from my Paypal, and currently the Ricky’s website states the subscription is still processing. I cancelled the subscription via the website and my question to you guys is does the money automatically go back into your accounts/paypal accounts? For those of you who had cancelled after they took the money. I emailed them to let them know I wanted to cancel and that they processed the payment but I have yet to receive the May box. I know a lot of you guys have said their customer service isn’t so great at the moment.

I would go into PayPal and unsubscribe from there. I had to do that with glossybox last year. Since you were already charged, you might have to just get this box and make sure you cancelled for June. This is how most sub companies work, once a certain cut off date passes or they’ve already charged for the month.

Hey y’all, I was finally able to cancel today and since my box hadn’t shipped they said I could cancel my May box and that bc the charge to my account was still pending it wouldn’t be sent through so I wasn’t charged for May & I don’t have to get a box of stuff I don’t want!
I sent an email to the customer care @ rickys with CANCELLATION in the subject line in all caps just like that. Hope this helps someone.

Thais is the worst box to date, nothing stands out, really a bunch of irrelevant items, you would think that since they are raising their price, the we’re going to do an amazing one. Nope, not this time, I’ll give them another month before canceling, let’s see if they redeem themselves, because this is a really bad box

Yeah I feel like a lot of my posts are censored for some odd reason. I don’t use profanity and am not rude, but if I disagree with a reviewer or something MSA does or promotes my post does not show up. I thought it was for all opinions, not just what MSA agrees with. I have seen offensive posts on here so not sure what’s up.

My box still has not shipped. They took the money out of my account the minute I ordered. Usually I am pretty tolerant and patient. Yet this has kind of got under my skin. They announce they are raising the price, then proceed to take their time mailing all these boxes saying we are just a small company. They should of prepared a bit better for the influx. As a result they have now lost a lot of new customers plus a lot of older one’s. I canceled as I do not like to deal with companies that do not put a lot of planning into their boxes. Boxy Charm is my go too, I will never cancel that box. I have had problems with many boxes but never boxy, to med they are the king of subscription boxes.

If I could get a refund and be done with them I would do it. I’m over this mess. The customer service is terrible. They post to Instagram and disable comments on one post and delete comments from another. Their attitude really really makes me mad. Like it’s the customer’s fault that the products aren’t acceptable even though 19 out of 20 comments were complaints. Now they’re pulling this shipping delay and blaming on a shortage of some kind. Last month when there was a shortage they did a replacement product. Just do that again. Not like anything in this box is that friggin unique. I’m done. Cult is canceled.

That seems to be their excuse for everything. They have a small team, they do everything by hand, they’re a small business, they’re having growing pains, etc, etc. It never stops them from taking my money on time though! Lol

they lost my business. i got my first boxy today and love it. i was one of the ppl that got screwed outta the brights lights palette. then after lotta ppl complained bout it rickys had the nerve to tell us its that or the waiting list. i took that as just be happy u got something. just love how they shipped and then emailed us saying they ran out. im just done with them. my account still said processing and they still didnt take my money and yesterday on the 20th. usually everyone has their box and this is the time other subs release spoilers. nope not rickys they are like lets post spoilers so that its too late for them to cancel. sorry but hadda rant.

Agree totally!! Wanted it for awhile especially the last 3 boxes those ghost nails lol, then the price increase instead of giving people who were on the waitlist first priority they said welp either you sign up this day or ya snooze you lose. Right there did it for me I said nope no thanks. I’m big on customer service and when you begin to act like they are I will bow out. Good luck Ricky’s with how you are handling things , I don’t see you lasting long.

I am so done with these people! I wrote to them so many times and they never responded. So I wrote to them on messenger on instagram, they looked at it and never responded. After I wrote on their actual picture on instagram where other people can see it THEN they wrote to me saying if I don’t get a response by monday that I need to message them, and of course Monday comes and shipping is delayed after so many people got them already. I’ve been subscribed for a few months now and I’ve noticed they always put the New subscribers first!
If this continues and if the boxes are as bad as this especially when the price goes up, I will be unsubscribing!

This is why so many of us are unhappy with an $11 (soon to be $14) box.

My first month was March which was fantastic and had me hooked.

Second month was April where I got a left over Chi Chi from February. The box the palette was in was so filthy I was scared to open. Reached out to customer service, after a week (5 business days) with no response I threw it away.

Now when we know there are tons of new subscribers who have gotten boxes, I get a note saying one day I may get mine.

Wouldn’t you think that people you screwed last month out of an advertised product, you should make some effort to not screw two months in a row?

Not gonna lie, I’m kinda seething, and I wrote them back to tell them about it. This is my first month, my box is delayed, next month the price is going up ~50%, and this month’s box isn’t even that great. I’ll give them a month or two more to impress me again, but so far I am the opposite of impressed.

The $3 increase is actually 27%, so far closer to 25% than the 50% you’re claiming.

If you want to be super persnickity abt it then after the $3 increase there will also be an increase in sales tax so it’ll be closer to 30% Either way, it’s not worth it if we’re going to continue receiving products like we’re getting in the May box. The May box is barely $30 worth of mostly junk for me and that’s unusual for any box I sub to. I can’t even cancel bc I can’t get them to reply to my emails! It’s insane.

I got my box today and it DEFINITELY had a shipping delay. It went from NY/NJ to CA. I live almost as far from CA as a person can get.
Also, to add a bit of insult to the dark bronze highlighter I got ( which is not a highlighter for me at all), I had 3 times as much shredded paper as product.

I have heck with that crinkly stuff because my small dogs think it’s so much fun. It’s a mad dash to get the box up and out of their jumping reaches. 🙂

I’ve been a subscriber for SEVERAL MONTHS, too, and I still DON’T have a box, either. I am in total agreement with you. What in the world are they doing shipping to new subscribers first?! No offense to those of you getting your first box, but I’m sure you’d be kind of ticked to get this email and find out that people just NOW signing up are getting boxes BEFORE LOYAL subscribers. After reading the way they have treated other people, I am not happy to see them treat people that are their customers that way. Not cool, Ricky’s. Not cool. I sent an email, but, of course, NO RESPONSE. Not cool. I’ve paid you for boxes for several months now. Where is my box this month?!

They did that to Rachel Zoe BOS subscribers too all the gilt city people got their boxes cheaper and faster than annuals… lost a lot of customers with that game.
