I will probably swap most from both of my boxes. Not complaining, I love Boxy just not excited this month at all.

This will be the first box I will look at swapping everything. Just not excited about this box at all. Fantastic value for sure but no wow item for me.
Maybe someone who is on the waiting listing that wants this box would want to buy it… still love Boxycharm though

If you’re on the MSA swap site, I’d love to trade for the lipgloss. : )

Mine shipped today. Kinda shocked. I felt like I was waiting a long time to get mine last month. What’s the variation? The lip color?

Variation box #2 has the Aesthetica P12 Brush and a Beauty Creations Matte lip gloss along with the contour/highlight palette, PV ink gel, CFX primer and the brush trio. As shown in SydneySmallsBeauty unboxing.

If anyone doesn’t want their HAN lipgloss, I’m on the swap site and would be happy to swap for it. I can never have enough lipgloss. : )

How does swap work?
Reply
Eve
You sign up for the swap site through My Subscription Addiction, then usually, you’ll be put on a waitlist for a while. Once you’re off the list, you can look for items you’re interested and list the items you have that you want to trade away. Then, you can request items from other people, and they can request items from you. If you both want to trade with each other, you accept the swap and then mail the items to each other. Then, after the swap, you can rate how it went. So, everyone has ratings, and it helps you know who you want to swap with or not.

Why does the first box not have the Pur palette? I thought everyone was getting that item?

It does.

I’m looking forward to this box very much! I’m always excited to get new brushes and almost bought the Cover FX the other day so now I’m glad I waited! Also super excited to try the eyeliner!

I don’t understand contouring and how many freaking brushes can one person use?? I just don’t see what excites people so much about this subscription.

Victoria
Well some people (such as myself) do very well with makeup and understand what each brush can do, no this is not my favorite box but I’m still VERY happy to be getting it, especially if your trying to rebuild your makeup collection after losing literally EVERYTHING. To each their own, but who are we to judge what another might like that you don’t 🤷♀️

Wow that was really snarky. I do really well with makeup and understand what each brush does, but I agree that they give you too many. Brush sets every single month is a bit ridiculous.

I’ve had boxycharm for three months now and I don’t care for this one. The last two were okay but my boxes arrived damaged with the product damaged as well. Not very “birthday” themed and all the products are meh. Thinking of going back to Ipsy, at least if I hate the products I’m only spending $10.

I have a HAN lip gloss and I really like it. Moisturizing and the color lasts. Haven’t seen the brand often in sub boxes, so I’m glad to see it here.

I’m glad I cancelled before I got this box, it would have been a huge flop for me. I already have the eyeliner, face primer is a gimmick, only use one contour palette and that’s the Kat VonD Shade and Light…it’s gorgeous, Ive given away every boxy lippie I’ve ever gotten…sole exception was the Laqa bullet and all of the Aestitica brushes I’ve owned have shed like crazy.
I had a good 8 month run with boxy but I’m glad I hung it up. I still like to see what they’re coming up with though. I’m also glad that someone that will enjoy it will get my spot. I discovered some good products through this sub but I just prefer to shop for it myself.

I really hope that the contour palette will be in different shades, and therefore work for different skin tones.

Nah, everyone is getting the same shades which means I’ll have more I can’t use. Last month was my first month and I could only use three of the products because of my skin and hair color (I don’t even think they had a variation of the highlighter and brow product that went with people with pale skin and redhair). This is just going to be way too dark for me, I would have rather have a colorful eyeshadow palette that everyone can use because it’s spring/approaching summer.
It would be nice if boxycharm could include things that will fit with people who are very pale/have redhair too. :/

Yes! A ginger here and it’s so hard to find makeup for my skin with all my freckles 🙁
I do love my Boxycharm but I am kinda tired of getting the same companies in our boxes.

This is the first Boxy Charm I could care less about. The Pretty Vulgar is cool, as long as it’s black, but the rest of the stuff is B-O-R-I-N-G. None of this says party or celebration to me. You’d think they’d send us some bright colors or something. I’m still hoping for another variation with something better than the lipgloss and extra brush. It’s all good, though. Boxy’s been pretty great up till now, so one boring box is forgivable.

I just looked up the Han lipglosses on their website, and they all look really pretty! Not a boring brown in the bunch!

I have a chubby face and you would think I could benefit from contouring done right but all my attempts thus far just make me look sickly. Like those candy skull people. I blend, I do. Lol.

If you’re new to contouring, you can try setting your cheeks with powder until it feels baby smooth before contour. Might help with the contour powder blending more smoothly.

My face is kind of roundish too but tapers into a heart from jaw to chin. That’s a good idea about the B & W selfies but I think I’m too lazy to do it, I appreciate the idea though. I will definitely have to experiment with the brushes and the setting powder, ty for the tips. 🙂

Brush is important too. Tapered and superthin contour brushes doesnt work for me. I saw a vid by Aly Art in youtube that uses black and white selfies. She explained how you can check for the shadows on your face and accentuate or change this when you contour. You can use the black and white selfies to also check if your contour (which you may need to exaggerate for test runs) are realistic shadows on your face. I have a round face and prefer my contour to be more vertical than most youtubers creating a moderate v on my face. Goodluck and hopefully you find out what works for you.

I have a chubby face too. I looked up tutorials for my shape of face (which really helped), suggestions on shades to use, and made sure to blend really well. I also found a highlighter (doesn’t have to be super strong) or a white setting powder really helps on the cheek bones and jaw line. It took me a while but now I’m in love with it. Good luck!

Oh, that’s a good idea to look for your face shape, ty! 🙂
Adriana
Maybe the color you are using is too dark for your complexion? I had a similar problem until I used a much lighter shade (I’m very pale)

Apricot
That is indeed possible, I will have to keep experimenting. Ty. 🙂

Glossybox! I haven’t had a bad box yet and the Mother’s Day box was awesome. I also get the BeautyFix box which I love. I cancelled BoxyCharm and started the LookFantastic box. I’m excited to see about that one.

If you don’t want a BeautyFix box in a particular month, you can actually adjust your subscription without canceling. I signed up for the April box, but May isn’t my style, so I adjusted my box to arrive every 60 days instead of every 30 days. They also have an every-90-days option.

Ha! I did too and got charged today 🙁

Like with pretty much all sub boxes it’s hit or miss. The good thing about Beautyfix is that’s it’s easy to cancel if there’s a month that doesn’t appeal to you then resub again the next month. Where boxycharm there’s often a wait-list. I like Beautyfix, but did cancel for the May box. I am on product overload.

I tried to sign up now but all boxes are sold out – is there a link just to sign up for the next one?

Thanks all for your feedback!

I have both since I use Beautyfix for skincare and Boxy for make-up. People have been getting annoyed with Beautyfix lately since sample sizes seem to be shrinking. Most of the time they have one or two full-size items and then the rest is deluxe or sample size. But it’s usually higher end brands and still a great way to try out stuff in my opinion. I guess awhile back they regularly included a “beauty tool” in the boxes too and those haven’t been featured very much either….

Not at all excited for the palette, why can’t they do a blush palette sometime?

They did a Real Her blush palette in December 2017

Nice! The brushes make sense- for the eyeliner and contouring palette. It’s not the most exciting box, but I’m still pretty happy with the contents, especially that primer.

Same here. I’m actually hoping this doesn’t mean we got box one. I’m hoping for something better than the extra brush and lipgloss.
