Bombay & Cedar "Purify" Box Review April 2018
This booklet came with the box. Inside, there are brand spotlights as well as helpful hints, like a page of natural remedies for allergy sufferers. (This allergy-laden gal is excited to try these tips!)
There's also a typical info card, which features the product list for the box.
Bombay and Cedar Lime Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $14.00
Bombay and Cedar Spearmint Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $14.00
Each box comes with two proprietary 100% pure essential oil blends.
This month's oils are refreshing and subtly sweet. The lime is kind of amazing—it's such a rich, soothing aroma that's oddly summery. I might not have known it was lime had I not seen the label. I didn't know lime had so many healing properties. Spearmint, too! I'm totally using the spearmint in my diffuser to help ease stress and maybe help with my occasional sinus troubles? It does say it can help with asthma, so I wonder if it'd be good for sinuses, too...
Somersaults Sunflower Bites in Cinnamon, 1 oz. - Listed Value $1.00, Buy 12 for $16.79 here
These little snacks are tasty, filling, and just barely sweet. The cinnamon dusted on the outside gives them the satisfaction of a sugary snack, but there are only 3 grams of sugar per serving. They're nut-free, non-GMO project verified, certified vegan, and kosher, too! I like that they have a texture a lot like little convenience store snack cookies—they have a bit of a bite to them but they're not super crunchy like granola or anything.
Sparoom Pocket Aroma - Retail Value $10.00 (Found here for $7.00)
This little diffuser can fit in your pocket so that you can take your aromatherapy on the go. I don't really see myself using this a ton, but it's a cool design. The built-in aroma is delightful, too. Squeeze the blue section of the device, and a whiff of sweet orange, cassia, cinnamon bark, clove bud, fir balsam, ginger root, and nutmeg appears to soothe you.
Mighty Mist Humidifier - Listed Value $39.99 (Found here for $16.99)
This humidifier uses an upturned water bottle to fuel it. Pretty cool, huh? It also has a USB power cord, so it's great for work. As mentioned above, my sinuses are kind of a mess, so anything that combats dry air is a friend of mine!
Tailfeathers Derrierre Wipes, 35 count - Listed Value $6.00
These personal wipes are made especially for your bottom with plant-based ingredients. They're paraben free, pH balanced and feminine safe, not tested on animals, flushable, biodegradable, and sewer safe. They also have a mild coconut hibiscus aroma!
CB & Co. Activated Charcoal Body Wash, 200 ml - Retail Value $13.50 USD (£9.99), Listed Value $15.00
The addition of charcoal supposedly gives this body wash extra detoxifying, cleansing power. My favorite part is the deep gray color—it's so unique and makes me feel particularly edgy and modern in the shower, hehe.
Eat Cleaner Fruits and Veggies Wash, 12 fl. oz. - Listed Value $5.99, Buy 3 for $19.99 here
I give my produce a good wash under the tap, but this natural, vegan cleaner sounds like a smart way to make sure my veggies are squeaky clean before I eat them. The bottle comes with a separate spray nozzle, so that you can use it across refill bottles of the solution. It's said to successfully remove pesticides, wax, bacteria, and unwanted residues. It can also help produce last twice as long as it would otherwise!
Compendium Yes, You Cards - Retail Value $9.95, Listed Value $10.00
Each one of these cards acts like a little pep talk to inspire your life and work. I might hang onto these cute cards to gift to someone embarking on a new job or some kind of other adventure. I like that the cards have such a crisp design and a pop of neon orange.
Full Circle The Ring Veggie Brush - Retail Value $4.99
More veggie-cleaning goodness! This ring feels super ergonomic in my hands. It's the sort of thing I can really get a grip on so that I can give tough tubers a good scrub. The bristles are recycled, the handle is bamboo, and the brand is a Certified B Corporation!
Bonus: Peppermint Essential Oil
Subscribers will get this thank you gift if they shared their last box on social media. I like the energizing, yet soothing aroma of peppermint. It'll come in handy when I'm trying to perk myself up in the morning at work!
Verdict: As usual, my Bombay and Cedar box felt carefully curated and well-rounded. I got products for bath, body, and even things to use in my kitchen! I don't think about the eco-friendly nature of my kitchen products (especially my kitchen tools) very often, so I liked getting the veggie scrubber and wash. I don't know if I'll use the personal diffuser very often, but the humidifier is going to come in a lot of handy for me and my needy nose. And the bonus item doesn't hurt either! I'm also impressed with the quality of everything. I don't feel like any item is just kind of thrown into the box as filler. Everything is really nice, works well, and is unique to boot.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $56.90, including shipping, but I estimate that there was $119.42 worth of retail value inside. I couldn't find a retail value for every item in the box, but the items with retail values still add up to a total of $84.43. The average cost I paid for each featured item (10 items, not counting the bonus item) is $5.69.
