Witch Baby is a soap company that has been providing luxurious, handmade bath products made from the finest witchy ingredients since 2013. In the last year or so they started offering a quarterly subscription box that offers seasonal subscription boxes that include exclusive, lunar-themed bath bombs, oils, crystals, enamel pins, soaps, and other products.

Witch Baby Spell Box Spring 2018 Review

Witch Baby includes a pamphlet with info about each new moon, the bath bombs that coordinate with them, and what each bath bomb symbolizes. I love this company’s thoughtful attention to detail and their themes in each of their products.

The first page gives info on the items included in this Spring 2018 Spell Box. Did you know this is the third year of Witch Baby’s quarterly Spell Box? This quarter, they provided a special preview of their upcoming collection, Rebel Witch. The collection features the Hex & Violence oil, Melanie soap, and Goddess Save the Queen scrub!  Also included is a geode to smash - wild, right?

The following pages detail the phases of the moon we will have this spring and the bath bombs that coordinate with each. These pages detail the March 1st Virgo rising Full Moon and the March 31st Libra rising Blue Moon. We had a Blue Moon for Easter eve this year!

These pages detail the Scorpio rising April 29th and Sagittarius rising May 29th Full Moons.

These two pages give tips on how to clean your crystal after smashing the included geode and also provides Palo Santo for smudging.

Here we have a listing of the Spring celestial events and a Spring bucket list! They mentioned Farmer’s Markets and you know those and Flea Markets are what I am most eager for in warmer weather!

What a fantastic quote!

Goddess Save the Queen body scrub jar

Goddess Save the Queen Body Scrub, 2oz — Estimated Value $8-9 (2oz body scrubs on the site range from $8-9)

Witch Baby is known for their unique scent combinations, and this scrub is certainly no exception!  This scrub’s scent profile combines wasabi and raspberry. The spiciness kicks in with the first sniff, but it is not overpowering. These two unlikely fragrances married to make this gorgeous scent that I am obsessed with. This season’s scrub is a sugar based scrub with oils, unlike the Winter spell box I last reviewed that had a fluffier, whipped texture. I appreciate both and love this addition to my arsenal of bath products!

March Moon Bath Bomb

March Moon Bath Bomb — Estimated Value $5-$10 (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on their site)

This bath bomb has notes of black tea, lemon, and bergamot to blend effortlessly to create a calming scent to ease anxiety and symbolize a fresh start. It encapsulates, in scent, the renewal of Spring.

Blue Moon Bath Bomb

Blue Moon Bath BombEstimated Value $5-$10 (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on their site)

This bath bomb has hints of sweet pea, blueberry, Rosehip, and has avocado oil in it as well. The fragrance profile is a fresh, yet romantic scent, which is fitting for The Libra full moon.

April Moon Bath Bomb

April Moon Bath Bomb - Estimated Value $5-$10 (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on their site)

I was excited to smell this one since I am a Scorpio and imagined the smell to be incredibly sensual, maybe even spicy. The fragrance of gardenia and peach are overpowering, even through the cellophane. I am not a big fan of gardenia, but I do feel the fragrance profile fits in well for the spring scents in this season’s Spell Box.

May Moon Bath Bomb

May Moon Bath Bomb - Estimated Value $5-$10 (Bath bombs range from $5-$10 on their site)

The Sagittarius Rising bath bomb features warm floral scents of roses and magnolias along with fruity fragrances of blackberry and passion fruit. This is certainly a vibrant and playful scent for the last full moon this Spring.

Melanie Soap Sample

This Melanie soap has a great peach smell that will pair fantastically with the April Moon bath bomb. It looks like a rose gold sun bringing warmth to our cold grey skies!

Hex & Violence Body Oil, 0.5fl oz - Estimated Value $5 (Other 0.5fl oz Body Oils on site are $5)

When I initially smelled this oil I found it too be too tart, almost pungent. I was disappointed since I absolutely adored last quarter's Fairy Milk body oil. I decided I had to put it on to truly judge it, and I am glad I did because this oil smells AMAZING on! Before putting it on it smells like the sourest, liquefied Sour Patch Kids. The tartness was tamed once I put it on my skin. The fragrance is sweet, but not in an overpowering way. I was foolish and didn’t stock up on Fairy Milk when it was on the site, but I sense I will get another vial of Hex & Violence. I am under its spell!

Wrapped in a bundle of brown paper was a rock, a small stick, and this crystal pin to go with the crystal magic theme of this month.

Crystal Geode and Palo Santo Wood

Guys. I was puzzled as to why I was sent a rock and a piece of wood in this box. Then upon reading the booklet detailing this quarter's Spell Box selections, I realized the rock is, in fact, a crystal geode (DUH! Makes sense with the crystal theme!) and the piece of wood is a smudging stick. Smudging sticks are used to cleanse bad vibes from objects and places, and in this case, the geode once I smash it.

As you can see, I am a novice at smashing geodes. I literally was like, “COOL! I am going to throw this rock as hard as I can against my cement floor in my basement. This should be a blast!” It was super fun, but be better than me: google how to properly bust open your geode. Get some eye goggles, a sock, and a sledgehammer. Smash that geode responsibly. Even though I massacred my geode, I still love the crystal chunks I managed to collect. The pictures do not do these gorgeous and glittery rocks justice!

Crystal Design Enamel Pin - Estimated Value $13

To complete the crystal-themed box is this neon crystal enamel pin! The pin has two posts and rubber closures. This piece would look adorable on a beret, your favorite biker jacket, or to decorate your favorite tote bag.

Verdict: Love is in the air this Spring, and my love for Witch Baby goes on! This box is one I look forward to getting quarterly because it is tremendously unique, luxurious, and fun! The crystal theme with the geode being included this month was such a neat touch! I also appreciate their informative booklet each quarter; I always learn some new tidbit from them! It is tough to pick a favorite from such an amazing box, but I will have to say the Hex and Violence body oil and Goddess Save the Queen are my front-runners. The scents are so exceptional and inimitable! I also take comfort in knowing that Witch Baby’s products are vegan and cruelty-free and that they donate to various charities like Planned Parenthood. I can sleep easy knowing that I am giving business to such an ethically sound company! I can’t recommend Witch Baby enough!

This box is $40 plus shipping for a one-time purchase or $36 plus shipping if you subscribe to it quarterly.  All of the items featured are exclusives to the subscription box and are not available for purchase (Hex & Violence, Melanie soap, and Goddess Save the Queen are a part of the upcoming Rebel Witch collection ). The bath bombs range in price, but due to shape and size to similar ones I saw on the site I determined each bath bomb would more than likely retail at $6.50 each which is $26 for all four. The pins featured on the Witch Baby site are $13 a piece, the .5oz oils are $5, most of the scrubs are $5, and the geode and Palo Santo smudge stick aren’t available on the site at all. If I take into account how much the other items retail that comes up to $49 before shipping which is roughly a $13 savings. That is like getting two bath bombs or the pin for free!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, but the Summer Box is up for pre-order here.

Value Breakdown: This box cost me $36 + $8.91 shipping, which means that each of the 9 items in the box (Crystal Geode and Palo Santo Wood counted as one) has an average cost of $4.99.

We do ship to Canada! We actually ship world-wide! Prices for shipping to Canada (and other countries) do vary from our U.S. shipping prices however.
