trunk club march 2018 box

Trunk Club is a clothing styling service for both men and women. Subscribers work closely with their stylist to find a selection of pieces to try on at home, and they receive a trunk shortly thereafter. Trunks can be ordered as often as you like, so you can try it once, or have a trunk sent to you quarterly or monthly. Or even more frequently!

Trunk Club Plus Clothing February 2018 Review

So first, a little more about how Trunk Club works: When I signed up, I took a pretty lengthy style questionnaire online. Then I was matched with a stylist who asked me even more about what I like and what I was looking for via an online chat. Based on this information, she selected several items for me to try on at home. She then sent me a link to preview all my items! There is also an option to allow your stylist to send a few surprise pieces.

This packet was included in my trunk.

The front of the enclosed booklet now has instructions!

Inside is a note from my stylist, Maureen. She has been my stylist for a few months now, and I really like how easy it is to chat with her via the app! She is super accessible.

This is my invoice. It lists the items I was sent and the cost to keep each item. My $25 styling fee will be deducted if I decide to keep anything.

These items were also in the packet. When I've finished repackaging the items I don't want to keep in the box, I just put this return label on it and use the tape straps to tape it back up! So convenient!

'Aubrey' Sandal by Rockport Cobb Hill - Cost to Keep $99.95

What a cool color! These shoes fit like a glove, and they have just enough heel to give me a bit of a lift without being uncomfortable. They are a super soft leather, and I really like the stitching detail. I think these are a winner!

Un Plaza Wedge Sandal by Clarks - Cost to Keep $129.94

These sandals are a super soft suede, and I really like the heel height on these, too. I love the cork wedge! They are very much my style and would be perfect for spring! Unfortunately, they just don't quite fit me right.

Scarf Print Woven Maxi dress by Eliza J - Cost to Keep $168

This dress is super funky! I absolutely love the colors and the pattern! This dress has a polyester lining with a polyester chiffon overlay. I don't know how flattering this is on me, but I totally love the style! It's a little expensive, though, so I feel like I need to be sure about it. It has a side zip and feels like a very high-quality dress.

Floral Chiffon High/Low Dress by Eliza J - Cost to keep $178

This polyester chiffon dress is JUST GORGEOUS. I love the high/low effect, and the ruffles just make it so pretty and feminine! I love the print, too! My only issue is that I could not wear this dress without exposing my bra in front. The chest wouldn't lay flat or stay closed! So, I think I would be uncomfortable in it, plus it is pretty expensive!

L/S Relaxed PJ Tie Front Top by Gibson - Cost to keep $59  (not currently available on nordstrom.com)

I love this top! It feels very well made, and it's so pretty! I didn't know how I would feel about the tie front, but once I tried it on I actually really liked it and felt it was stylish. It's a lined polyester chiffon, and it will be perfect for work this spring. I think it also fits well and is pretty cute on!

trunk club march 2018 wrap trunk club march 2018 wrap 2

Wrap Top by Trouve - Cost to keep $69

This top, unfortunately, did not fit at all. It might be because my stylist is not plus sized, but she doesn't get that there's a difference in sizing between the number of X's in misses and plus sizes (for example, XL does not equal 1X), so this was too small. Fortunately, my dress form is a bit slimmer than I, so I was able to photograph it. It's very sheer chiffon wrap top with lovely tied cuffs and a tie at the waist. It's very elegant!

The Verdict: I am a big fan of Trunk Club! For the past few months they have been sending me 11-12 pieces, but this month I chose to only receive my favorite six pieces, I was getting a little overwhelmed receiving so many pieces! I am happy with the choices I made, though. It was a mixture of hits and misses, but I really love the printed blouse and the teal shoes. I think Trunk Club is a little on the spendy side, but it's still loads of fun to try all the pieces!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Trunk Club curates its boxes based on each individual's preferences as well as what's available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $25 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the 6 items inside is $703.89. The cost of each item is listed alongside it above, but if I choose to keep anything, the $25 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase. That is an average $117.32 an item, which is on par with the brands included.

Ann

Those 2 dresses were stunning on you. If you kept one and deducted the $25 fee, you can justify the price knowing you can wear the dress to every occasion this summer ie graduations, weddings, showers. Can you update us if you kept anything?

Mandy G,

I’d love to see Liz review and model this sub part of the time. Just as some people can’t visualize clothing in their plus sizes well, I can’t really tell what they send non- plus sizes.

Search trunk club and you will find several reviews that Sara did and Marne just did a review also.

I love both dresses, just not the pricetag…

I would love to try this box but we cancelled all our credit cards (including nordstrom) except for one visa so I’d love to know more about the debit card that lets you get the trunk with no styling fee! I can’t find any info on it on the site. 🙁

It is a shame the Clarks shoes did not fit. I have never worn any wedges but I have three pair of their Unstructured footbed and would not trade them for anything. P.S. I thought they were expensive until I started pricing other brands of shoes.

LOVE the first dress on you, I think its very flattering and the color is amazing. The second dress is ok, I feel like the beige/cream color washes you out a bit personally.

LOVE that floral dress on you! I bet some fashion tape would help. I use it all the time for my ample chest area. 🙂

My thoughts, exactly. Fashion Tape is a godsend.
