I really hope she is doing this to empower women and not for the shock value.

I ordered mine awhile ago. I can’t wait to see what it is all about! I have a friends wedding coming up so I thought this box would be the prefect bachelorette gift.

Reply ButtonReply

Kristi

What an excellent idea!

I signed up the day the subscriptions opened, totally excited for it. Getting sick of the people who only post “any spoilers yet?” on the slutbox IG page instead of actually reading the content or commenting on some the empowerment messages though. I can’t wait to see what the Lelo item will be. It said there still remained over $150 in value after this spoiler.

I do understand that reclaiming a word can ease the pain. I am so sad that any woman has been called a slut. However, i dont think calling oneself a slut really honors the sacredness of sexual relationships and possibly. Lowers ones image of herself.

And women. Are. The pinnacle. Of creation. So. I think. Beloved Masterpiece would. Be. A better description than slut.

However. All sluts, and who hasnt been called that? Are beloved masterpieces, I just think. Women are amazing. And to each their own.

In my faith. It reads in Galatians. There is no male or female in Christ we are all sons of God. There is no double standard where it counts. Only God can judge us. And Jesus would rather die for us than see us judged. So i just dont want to judge myself poorly either.
I was bought with a high price of Jesuss blood. So i just want. To resepect. How Im a queen. And Jesus knows how many people Ive slept with. Lol. Never called me a slut. So. Im following His lead. His Prince. His queen. Yes. Slut. No. Lol but

. I get it. And. I get the message its trying to send. And i support

Anyone against slut shaming. Shame. Is not. What Jesus died to give us.

AMEN. Well said💞

Meredith,
Yours is the first dissenting opinion I’ve read that I have respect for. Not because I agree with you but because you laid out your reasoning effectively without disrespecting others. You empathized with the “other side” but still explained why this box isn’t for you.

I think you showed everyone how it’s possible to disagree and still respect others with a differing opinion.

I subbed to this box and I fully support the message behind it. I find the name to be fitting to the cause and to the contents. But I have nothing but respect for your opinion.

love can build a bridge 😉

Really? I’m the only one who finds the name of this box repulsive and offensive? I don’t care what’s in it or what it is “celebrating.” Find a better name.

Reply ButtonReply

Sharyn

Completely agree! Not even remotely interested –

Reply ButtonReply

J

Agreed

Reply ButtonReply

Reyna

I totally agree . I also think that women who have a different opinion should stop being made to feel like they need to stop putting other women down when they are simply stating their dislike for something they find trashy or distasteful. It has nothing to do with putting other “women” down. Holla Felecia 😉😘✌

Renee

I’m with you. Good news is we don’t have to spend our $ on this 🤗

Reply ButtonReply

Beccah

The point of the box is to get the word out about slut shaming. That is why it’s called slutbox! Women need to stop being so judgemental towards other women!

Reply ButtonReply

Rie

Wow. You just slut-shamed SlutBox. Therin lies the problem. Way to prove Amber Rose exactly right, tho.

Lighten up, Francis.

Amy S

No, I didn’t. I just expressed my opinion on the name of the box. I didn’t “shame” anybody. I have as much right to think it’s awful as you do to think it’s dandy. There are words in the English language that produce a visceral reaction and “slut” is one of them, and I don’t think it furthers feminism, empowerment or anything else to adopt those words and apply them to oneself. It has nothing to do with the content of the boxes. I think it’s an ugly marketing gimmick. That’s my opinion, you can disagree with it without smearing me. I am 67 years old, I’ve been an activist since high school, I am not anti-feminist, on the contrary, and this offends me.

Jade

Seriously? If you don’t like the name, then don’t subscribe or sign up for updates. That’s easy, IMO! Duh!

Reply ButtonReply

Kat

Omg really. Don’t subscribe to it then. I think it seems like a fun box.

Reply ButtonReply

colleent

I love everyone’s enthusiam, but I really hate that word. I guess I am old.

Reply ButtonReply

Christine H.

No, you’re not old at all. Even we enthusiasts have hated that word. And that’s because it’s meaning has been used to convey shame and humiliation. The word has always been derogatory and demeaning. And as such, it holds too much power over women. THAT’S the reason the box has this name. To take the power it holds out of the equation. This box, and the cause associated with it, is to change the connotation of the word.

It’s to say to every person that just because I wear a short skirt or sleep with whomever I want or express my sexuality as I see fit, you don’t get to judge me. It’s my body and my life. Your silly little “slut” word means absolutely nothing. The double standard is dead. And calling me names says more about you than it does about me. The word has no more power and as such, you don’t get to shame me anymore.

As for those who say not liking the word, or the name of the box, is about having self-respect…well, quite simply, that’s the complete opposite of it’s actual significance. To say that the “slut-shaming” needs to be stopped is actually about taking back our self-respect. Changing the connotation of the word slut is about taking back our self-respect. And standing up and saying that the word no longer has any power over me is about taking back our self-respect.

I hope this makes some sort of sense. I understand that we are all different and no one person’s opinion is more important than another’s. But even for those who simply can’t come around to the “enthusiasts” way of thinking, I truly hope they can understand the rational behind it.

BTW, I submitted a response earlier to you but it’s apparently under review for some reason and hasn’t posted yet. So when you get 2 different responses from, that’s why 🙂

Sharyn

Not an age issue at all, but rather one of self respect!!

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

That’s basically insinuating that anyone that is interested or subscribes lacks self-respect. Really, really wrong of you.

Renee

Right On! IMO -> This isn’t an empowering movement.

Christine H.

Actually, you’re not old. You feel like most women feel. Even we enthusiasts have hated that word. And that’s because it’s meant to be derogatory and demeaning. It’s meant to shame us and make us feel bad. It’s meant to insult us and embarrass us. And therein lies the reason for the name of the box. To give us our power back. To give us our self-esteem back. It’s to take away the power of that word and remove the shame it has caused.

Yes, yes, yes!!!! Review the slut box!!! Let’s see what it’s all about!! Looking forward to seeing it reviewed. I hope it’s good!!!

I just subscribed, I can’t wait to see what this box has to offer.

Reply ButtonReply

Angie

Finally I’ve been saying we really just need a box for us s*%*s lmao jk ladies just had to joke 😄

Reply ButtonReply

Lizzy G

Umm these wont work on my mom-who-breastfed-4-babies boobs because they’re hanging to the floor these days. Bahahaha but this is a cute idea!

Reply ButtonReply

Aarjullor

Yes! These are not for my 45y/o, nursed 3 kids a total of 7.5 years breasts. They’ll go to my 19y/o, just like the ones from Ricky’s.

Reply ButtonReply

Jamie

I told my husband the same thing LOL! I was like hey I ordered a new subscription that can help us spice things up… but the first reveal is a set of pasty stickers and those are going to be aimed at the floor if I put them on. 😂

Reply ButtonReply

Lizzy G

Exactly. Bahahahaha.

Simone

Cute! Can’t wait to see what else is in the box.

Reply ButtonReply

sara

I got pasties/nipple covers in a Ricky’s Cult Crush box recently and thought it was pretty fun! I wanted to try them on just to wear for myself under regular clothes, lol. My husband thought they were very sexy, too! We’re often too tired to go out at night after work and kids, but putting these on just for us at home was totally fun : )

Reply ButtonReply

Jen

I would have never thought to buy these before but I’m happy they’re included in the box so I can try it out. It’s nice to be able to try something new. I’m excited to see what’s in the rest of the box!!

I would LOVE to see this reviewed! Reclaiming the word slut is really important to me. I was called slut in high school — someone even yelled it after my name was called during our graduation ceremony. My poor parents, having to hear that! I liked sex, and I used birth control. I never cheated on a boyfriend and was never a tease. I was treated very differently from the guys I had sex with, most of whom bragged about it and were considered to be studs. I hope that changes someday.

Reply ButtonReply

Beccah

That’s exactly what this box is about! Women should be able to dress how they want, be vocal about their sexuality, sleep with who they want and not be labeled a slut! It is time to take back that word and the power behind it! No more Slut Shaming!

Reply ButtonReply

Natalie

My daughter went through the same thing…. I even had to change her school. We are all different, some of us like sex more than others and some of us LOVE sex but are more reserved about it. I grew up in a quiet, calm, catholic going home. I even went to catholic school for 8 years…. I am very reserved. My husband on the other hand, outgoing, loud and very “sexual”. Our relationship gets difficult sometimes… So, when I saw the SlutBox, i bought a 3 month sub immediately…. I’m hoping this helps out our relationship. There is nothing wrong with being a “slut”.

Reply ButtonReply

sara

You go, Natalie! Your post is inspiring! Hope you enjoy the box experience : )

Karen

Thank you for your post. You totally turned my perspective around on this box…at first blush I kind of cringed at the thought of wearing a pastie with the words “slut” all over it but then I read your post and you are SO right! There is such a double standard. Women should be proud to own their sexuality and I know that’s exactly what Amber Rose champions as well. Thank you for waking me out of my overly programmed initial reaction to see the true point of this box!

On a side note, I always marveled how so many young men encourage women to be sexual, then in their next breath criticize those who are. It seems to be a pretty moronic strategy on the part of the guys. I think they’d achieve their sexual “goals” much quicker if they avoided the nasty labels and instead embraced and appreciated female sexuality.

Reply ButtonReply

Beccah

These are perfect for me! I never wear a bra but definitely need to cover the nips!

Reply ButtonReply

Wendy

I’m thinking “stickers” for my vanity mirror. No way I’d wear these, but might be a cute decoration.

Reply ButtonReply

Jessica

To be honest I would wear these under my regular clothes just for fun, with no one else seeing them. Is that just me?

Reply ButtonReply

KimberlyB

I agree, that would be awesome. I’d have to keep myself from smirking all day. But I think it would be empowering, and I know that’s a lot of what Amber Rose is about.

Reply ButtonReply

Snowhitetwin

Oh boy. Thinking the heart one with the word “slut” all over it is the exclusive design. I’ll pass.

Reply ButtonReply

Maria

If I knew for sure that the word Slut would be visible on the outside of the box I would order one and wait for the mailman. Just to see th look on his face when he handed me that box. I get bored. Also the pasties are good for backless shirts.

Reply ButtonReply

SARah

It will the company has confirmed slut will be on the outside of the box!

Margie Moore-Cooper

Not that excited about pastease. But, I knew they would be included. Looking forward to the other spoilers. Don’t let me down SLUTBOX!!

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

What an awful spoiler to lead with. Being their first box, I imagined something big-ish being spoiled first.

Reply ButtonReply

Mary

At least you know the box is sticking to it’s theme (unlike the Cosmo box).

Natalie

They might be saving the best for last…. Makes it more exciting. 🤗
