When you sign up, you’ll fill out the Ivory Clasp questionnaire, letting their stylists know what patterns, colors, materials, and shapes you prefer in the bags you buy. In addition to answering questions, you’ll go through several screens of “select the bags you’d be happy to get” to provide even more specific information about what you’d like to receive.

When your curation is ready, they will send you an e-mail giving you a few days to select the specific bag that you wish to receive. If you do not select a bag, their stylists will select one for you and you’ll get to be surprised.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Ivory Clasp Handbag Subscription for April 2018

With 212 The Bleecker Mini Backpack in Evergreen – Retail Value $88

The pebbled leather bag features gold hardware, adjustable shoulder straps, and a 2” handle drop. It’s imported and made of faux leather. It measures 8” h x 12” w x 7”d and is the perfect size for a hands-free day with a toddler.

For my first Ivory Clasp bag, I decided to go with something that I would never typically buy myself – a bookbag style handbag! I decided that this could be a fun option, as we move into the warmer months, to take to parks with my 3-year-old. He’s old enough that I don’t need to carry a diaper bag anymore – but still wild enough that it’s great to be hands-free. This was the perfect size to hold my necessities and his.

I’m really into yellow gold, and I think that this hardware suits the lovely emerald color of the bag nicely. I loved the adjustable straps and was pleased with how the bag came wrapped with all of the hardware in plastic, to prevent the supple leather from getting scratched. Pebbled leather is a bit more resilient and on trend than smooth leather, and I enjoyed the textured feel of this bag.

The front pocket was perfect to hold my phone and keys for easy access.

The bag is fully lined in a white and emerald stripe. There is 1 zipper pocket, and 2 inside open pockets to help you stay organized.

For a relatively inexpensive bag, I thought it was great that it came with a branded dust bag. I am pretty good about handbag storage, and when I am provided with a dust bag, do save and use them to store my bags. This one is thin but will do the job to help keep this bag in pristine condition.

Here I am with the bag to give you an idea of scale.

Handbag Rescue Wipes – Estimated Value $2 (buy a 10-pack for $9.99)

A few extras were included in this box, including 2 single-use Handbag Rescue wipes. I was happy to get to sample these and used it on a pair of dirty black leather ankle boots. I was pleased at the durability of the wipe, the conditioning power, and its ability to remove surface dirt.

NIVEA Oil Infused Vanilla and Almond Oil Body Lotion – Buy a full-size bottle for $5.49

I’m never a huge fan of foil packets and find they just get tossed in a bin and rarely used, but for review purposes, I made a point to try this lotion. The vanilla scent is light and lovely, but for me, this was more of a summer moisturizer. It has a thin consistency and absorbed quickly but I didn’t feel that it was super luxe (which is what I want on my dry winter skin). That said, I had a tiny sample to work with so maybe it didn’t get a fair shake. Maybe I’ll use my $2 coupon and give it another whirl!

The Verdict: This is the first bag that I’ve gotten from Ivory Clasp. I liked that I got to pick just what I wanted, but admit that I’ve never heard of this brand before. I think it’s a good quality piece, and with a retail value of $88, almost double the cost of the $49 subscription, and I feel that it was a good value.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You can definitely still sign up, but what bag you get depends on what you enter into your style profile and what’s available. There’s no guarantee that you’ll get to pick this same look, but you might get something else that’s just your style!

Value Breakdown: Ivory Clasp costs $49.00 per month, but I received a bag that retails for $88.00, plus a few other goodies.

  1. i really miss when they had maison du sac bags… it seems like their sub is only doling out their house brand now?

  2. I know this has nothing to do with the bag review but I love your shirt! It looks great on you : )

    • Thank you so much! I got it at ModCloth!

  3. I’m fighting the urge to go with Bolzano, thanks to the review that was on here! I would think that it would be a major challenge to Ivory Clasp.

    • Definetly go with Bolzano!! They have real leather High quality bags and AMAZING customer service. Leylani the founder is a wonderful woman and making customers happy is her #1 priority like it should be. You’ll be lucky to get an answer from Ivory clasp a week after you email them. They have sent me the same bag choices for the last 3 months its sad really and only AVI and With212 (which are Ivory clasp brands) are what they carry and when I asked if there would be new bags by next month (I literally own them all) I was told that I should skip a month. what great customer service.

  4. I have had this bag for a few months and I love it! It is my main bag, I throw it around all the time and it looks new.

I used to only use black bags, but with Ivory Clasp I have gotten a blush colored bag, a black and white bag, a royal blue bag and this green one. I wish they had another sale like the Valentine’s one. Each of my bags were only about $16.50 each.

About this bag, I also think it a good enough size to carry a small amount of items for a toddler.

    Great review btw!

    • Edited: I have had this bag for a few months and I love it! It is my main bag, I throw it around all the time and it looks new.

  5. I do not understand people falling for this sub. You are getting a sub-par quality bag for a premium price tag. You can buy Coach all day long on their outlet website for equal or even less at times. I have also purchased many name brands at places like tj Maxx for less. This is a scam of a sub in my opinion. And may I add, the bag I received was hideous, as is the case with many I have seen reviewed.

  6. With212 is an Ivory Clasp house brand. I received this a while ago in blush, and I loved it, until after about maybe 2 months of use, the straps started to crack where they bent. For a bag with a RV of $88, it should have lasted a lot longer, and felt better quality.

    • Ah, I’m sorry for that experience for you. I’ll have to keep my eyes on this bag to see if I notice the same cracking issue!

    • I had the same issue with a different style of bag. It had piping along the strap and it’s cracked to hell. The RV seems way overinflated.

It makes sense that With212 is a house brand.

    • Same for me with the blush bag, and I was under the impression it is not real leather.
I received a suede bag and a regular non-suede leather bag, both from Dolce Vita, in previous shipments, and have been pleased with the quality and value of those. However, I wasn’t paying the full standard sub price for this box at the time, either. I cancelled this sub due to the reduction in true leather bags and after several shipments offering the same variety.

      • Yes, this is faux leather. I think sometimes that’s done to accommodate vegans. This is my first month – I’m curious to see if the variety is different next month.

        • I’ve been dealing with them for about a year and for the last 3 months all the bags I got to choose from were the same each month give or take a few. When I first signed up they had many other brands and although we could not pick our bags they were way better. AVI, with 212 are both owned by ivory clasp and that is all they seem to carry now… no more Betsy Johnson or Dolce Vita 🙁 .
