BuddhiBox has had a subscription box for yoga and meditation for years, but they recently launched BuddhiBox Essential Oils, a monthly aromatherapy/meditation subscription. Every month, subscribers receive various essential oils and crystals that support a specific guided meditation, which is also included.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

BuddhiBox Essential Oils March 2018 Review
Each month's BuddhiBox includes a card with an inspiring mantra on the front and info about the contents of the box on the back. This month, a quote by Zhi Gang Sha is featured. It sets a nice, peaceful tone for the contents of the box, which seem to be curated around a theme of healing.
Oiliving Life Meditation Spray, 1 oz. – Listed Value $12.00, for 2 oz. bottle (Buy a 4 oz. bottle for $18.99)
If you've been subscribed to the BBEO for a few months or have been following along with my reviews, you may be picking up on some patterns of this box. The first is that the essential oils included are often either one of these Oiliving Life sprays or a KAILO roll-on. Both of these brands seem to have endless products because, though I've built up a collection of both, I have never received repeating scents. This particular scent is a blend of cedarwood, sandalwood, and frankincense. It's got a beautifully "natural" scent to it, and I put "natural" in quotes because of course every spray they offer is made up of natural ingredients! But this one is very calming and evocative of the outdoors. I think it would offer the perfect aromatherapy for meditation, and in fact, I put it to the test with the included guided meditation (shown later in the review) and it was a very calming experience.
Selenite Stick - Listed Value $10.00
Another pattern of the BBEO is that they always include a crystal or stone of some sort. I'm the type of person who loves collecting stones and displaying them around my house for the peaceful, natural, and often uplifting vibe they offer, though I'm terrible about remembering their specific meanings and uses after initially looking them up. This selenite wand is absolutely captivating and I found it fitting to find that it's often referred to as "liquid light." I tried to capture the movement of its sheen in the photographs, but of course, they don't do it justice. Fitting for this box's theme, it's often used for cleansing, meditation, healing, and to promote energy flow through the body. Isn't it just gorgeous?
Reiki Herbal Votive Candle - Healing — Listed Value $6.00
Another familiar item that I've received several iterations of in past BBEO boxes is this little votive candle. They usually arrive with a small slip informing subscribers how to positively charge their candle before lighting. I already have a yellow and a pink votive candle from previous boxes—soon I may have the whole reiki rainbow collected! I haven't lit any of them yet simply because I have other candles to get through first, but I have them on my mantle because they're lovely to look at for their vibrant colors. This purple candle is infused with "cedar, ocean, and lemon balm scents"...I'm not sure how they've captured an ocean scent in a candle, but I like the concept!
Copper Cup Turmeric Latte Single Sachet - List Price $3.30, buy a 4-back here for $8.99
I was so utterly intrigued by this drink packet upon finding it in my box. I do love the flavor of turmeric and cook with it occasionally (plus its color is incredible—my all-time fave), but I couldn’t quite imagine it in a latte. Per the suggestion on the back of the packet, I heated up 8 oz. of almond milk (our fridge is always stocked with the unsweetened vanilla flavor) and mixed it in. WOW was it delicious. Such an exhilarating blend of flavor and spice. This strikes me as an awesome alternative to coffee for those avoiding caffeine—in no way is its flavor comparable to coffee, but its invigorating qualities seem awesome for a morning boost. Plus, turmeric is said to have benefits such as fighting inflammation, acting as an antioxidant, and improving brain function. I want all of that in my life!
A three-packet sampler of this latte was included in this month's BuddhiBox Yogi Box.
Here’s what the contents of the packet look like in my mug.
Per the directions on the packet, I heated the almond milk up separately and added it to the mix. I loved the suggestion of adding cinnamon, but instead of using it as a garnish on top, I sprinkled some onto the packet mix prior to adding the milk. As you can see, the cinnamon got a little chunky along the sides instead of mixing in. Not the most photogenic, but the flavor was wondrous. I took a few sips, then asked my husband if he’d like to try. I looked away for like 2 seconds and when I turned back he had polished it off. Haha! I can totally see us using the 15% discount code provided in this box to get our hands on some more of this surprisingly yummy stuff!
Yoga International Free 30-Day Membership & Online Conference – Estimated Value $143.00
Finally, this card features an offer for Yoga International, an online yoga resource. In order to claim your free 30-day trial and conference, you have to follow the link listed on the back of the included card and create an account. Yoga International will automatically charge subscribers $14.99/month after the free trial, so in order to sign up, you have to enter a credit card number. I’m so terrible at remembering when my subscriptions renew, so I’ve set myself a calendar reminder for 30 days from now. As I was going through the sign-up process, I just assumed I’d want to use this awesome resource while it’s free then cancel after 30 days because I have no trouble finding wonderful classes on YouTube for free, but who knows, maybe I’ll love it! As the profile creation process, you are asked your level and what types of classes you’re looking for, and are given suggestions based on that.
The Ayurveda & Women’s Health Digital Conference portion is 8 hours worth of video, featuring well-respected teachers in the Ayurveda field. They touch upon women’s health issues such as balancing hormones, healthy conception, menopause, spirituality, and nutrition. Here is a trailer where they go into a bit more detail if you’re curious! I truly hope I can find the 8 hours to set aside to get through this entire conference!
This free trial was also included in this month’s BuddhiBox Yogi box.
The Dreaming Yogi Meditation - Listed Value $10
This month's Dreaming Yogi meditation focuses on Ayurveda, or the science of life. I was introduced to Ayurveda several months ago by a friend who was researching eating a healthy diet based on her dosha. I was inspired to do a bit of my own research, and there's a lot of great info out there, which I admit had me feeling a bit overwhelmed. I observed that it didn't feel like the right time in my life to delve deeply into this topic and that I'd perhaps wait for an in-person Ayurveda workshop or some other tailored information source to pop up in my life. Maybe this meditation is the perfect little intro to get me back into it! This month's meditation is longer than previous ones—it's about 21 minutes. It features video of Meli in front of a beautiful black and white tapestry, and in it she guides us through a very visually driven meditation that addresses taking action on your goals as you explore different seasons. I enjoyed this meditation a lot!
Verdict: This was a pretty standard BuddhiBox Essential Oils box, but a solid one nonetheless. I think it's easy to enjoy the sometimes repetitive contents of this box if you're subscribing for the right reasons, which is to replenish your supply of intentional gifts and tools and take the time to quiet your mind for a monthly meditation. This box costs $15.95 (US shipping included), and its contents add up to $70, which was calculating using listed values.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the April box. Order by the 8th of the month to receive that month’s box.
Value Breakdown: At $15.95 for this box, you're paying approximately $2.66 for each of the 6 included items.
