I’m disappointed that all three selectable samples this month are old/not new products, and I’m not feeling the curated box, which at least seems to have new products! It would be much more tempting to do sample select if the samples were at least NEW products.

I’ve also noticed that even if you pick one sample and not the curated box, you’ll get at least one of the other sample selection items plus something from the curated box. I find that kind of annoying, as it’s usually the item from the curated box that I don’t want 😐

Is it possible to skip a month with Birchbox? I emailed them and asked how I would go about skipping the May box and this is the answer I received.

We don’t have the option to put your subscription on hold, but the good news is the cancellation feature serves the same purpose because you can cancel and resubscribe at any time. Don’t worry—your Profile and Box History will stay on file, so you’ll pick up right where you left off when you’re ready to come back.

I’m tempted to cancel…I get more out of the Target beauty boxes.

For some odd reason I do have the option to skip in my account (and did for May). But I seem to be alone in this opportunity based on other people’s comments. LOL. Maybe it’s because I’m an Ace?? Or just some random lottery winner? I’m not sure. I just hope I don’t get charged and shipped a box since my account says I won’t be. But, yes, it is very easy to cancel and just resubscribe next month if you want (I’ve done it before). And if they have a free item gift for subscribing you’ll probably be able to get that too.

I wish there was a choice to not get any of the samples offered.

I think if you don’t choose yourself they’ll do the whole box to your profile. But, of course, that will likely include at least one of these samples anyways…. For awhile they were offering to give you the box value in “credits” to use in your account or the shop instead (but you’d still get charged $10). I’m not sure if they are still doing that (I got emails notifying me that was an option every month). I just decided to skip the month instead and not get charged at all.

How do you skip a month? I thought they ended that option when they ended the beta program (which is when they used to allow the credit you were mentioning)?
