Baking soda is terrible for the ph balance of armpits! Companies really need to stop marketing it as a wonderful alternative product. Just because it’s natural doesn’t mean it’s good. Women used to take arsenic to make themselves look paler, arsenic is natural too!

People start with baking soda deodorant, and then when their skin gets irritated or inflamed and painful they go “Oh, look, I’m detoxing all the bad stuff out of my skin!” NO you are putting something too alkaline on your skin and messing it up.

I only use natural, antiperspirant free deodorant, but it also has to be free of baking soda.

LAVANILLA Is the best evvver. Also, they sell it at Sephora and you can get a travel size for $7 in the little bins by the check out.
They added some other flavors- vanilla grapfuit, vanilla lavender but I don’t like those at all compared to the original.
They have a extra strength “sports” flavor that’s won a bunch of awards but dont like its smell as much either.

Yes!! Lavanila is so amazing!! I use their sport luxe deodorant (it does contain baking soda but it’s the second to last ingredient) it’s all natural and REALLY WORKS!! I work outside in the summer at an open greenhouse; the temperature, running around on all that concrete, it gets So Hot but Lavanila’s Sport Luxe can actually keep up with it. Unlike a lot of other natural deodorants I’ve tried this one seems to stop me from sweating like an antiperspirant without the chemicals. Also it’s not a gel that’s going to stay ‘moist’ all day (those types of natural deodorants actually cause me rashes), it feels dry to me ten minutes after I put it on. At the end of an 8hour, 105 degree day I might be a little stinky, but I’d rather be smelly and healthy than rubbing bad chemicals all over myself to smell just ‘ok’!!

I’m with you on that. I get a rash if I use the ones with baking soda. I think more of them are omitting it due to people’s sensitivity.

Also check out Meow Meow Tweet’s Baking Soda Free Grapefruit deodorant. You can get it from Target online

I mainly use crystal essence roll on. Jason isn’t bad, toms is awful. The crystal essence stuff is available in all drugstores, and the pomegranate scent is my fave, lavender is great too.

I really like Bubble and Bee. I have no problem with baking soda but if you do they have sensitive formula too.
