Wow, $42 for a crew neck short sleeve tshirt. NO thank you.

I signed up for this yesterday, but I had trouble filling my box. It was disappointing because I found items I liked listed under prime wardrobe, but my size wasn’t eligible when I tried to select it (although other sizes were listed as eligible for the same item.) For the record, I take a large or an x-large depending on the style. And there were some pretty wild swings in price too. I mean, I’m used to paying a few dollars extra for a larger size – I used to be a 2X – but $27.95 for a small shirt and and $56.70 for the same shirt in large? Did anyone else have issues? I think I’ll wait a while before trying again. Maybe they’ll have worked out some of the bugs by then.

Yes, I think they charge more for the “popular” sizes. I always wanna buy shoes, but since I’m a 7, the prices are often double what they are for other sizes. Irks me

Sadly, I’ve noticed that kind of price flux between the same item in different sizes for a couple years now. Definitely frustrating. I had been so looking forward to this, but I have to say I wish the prices were better. I sorted the results by price and in that particular prime wardrobe category (which I think was women’s sporty or something like that), the cheapest item was $36. I like a good deal, and that doesn’t feel like a good deal to me. Maybe I’m just too cheap, ha ha.

Ok who has received an invitation??? I sure haven’t and have been a prime member for years! And not one person I know received an invitation! I have requested an invitation but none!! When will this go live for everyone???

Wow, calm down girlfriend. Someone in the forum mentioned the received an invitation, but also, if you’re a Prime member already, you can use Prime Wardrobe. If you’re on a computer, it’s one of the banners you can click on.
I personally won’t be utilizing this, as most of the items are way out of my price range.

I’m not seeing where this banner is located. When I click on Prime Wardrobe, I am directed to a page with a box at the bottom to click on that says “Request a invitation to try Prime Wardrobe.” I have done this about 7 times and still haven’t received an invitation or a new banner or any indication that I’m able to try it. For the record, I’ve been a Prime member for about a year now and my husband and I spend a LOT of money on Amazon. I think I’m going to contact Amazon via live chat. That always seems to remedy any issues I’m having with Amazon.

Dang I was excited for a minute because I buy a ton of clothing off Amazon, but only the cheap stuff lol! I follow boutiques and then find similar items on Amazon for half the price & free shipping. Same with eBay. I just got a pair of earrings for $0.70 that are being sold at a boutique for $8 plus shipping.

You don’t need an invitation. Where does it say in this post that it’s by invitation? It says available now and then walks you through it.

When I click on the link, there’s a page with some info about it, and at the bottom it says “Request an Invitation to Try Prime Wardrobe”. so. you do need an invitation.
I am a prime customer, fwiw.

I thought if you called UPS they would come by and pick up the package. I must be thinking of the US Post Office.

OK, I just confirmed that all UPS drop boxes accept all levels of service, do ground is fine. Obviously it can’t be a ginormous box, but still.
A lot of UPS drop boxes, if not all, now accept ground packages. That didn’t used to be the case, but I discovered it recently because even though there’s a UPS Store near my house, it would require my unbuckling and unloading my kids just to run in for a second, then load the kids back up and buckle them in. However there’s a drop box that’s a very short detour off our route home from school that accepts ground packages. Better than stalking a random UPS truck (though they’ll happily accept and scan in your package).

I like it. I don’t have to pay for it unless I want to keep it. And then I can still utilize the regular 30 day return window if something is wrong with it. And my ups man comes to the door regularly and will take any packages with him that I have to send, so won’t be hard for me to return. I’ll be giving it a try! I’d be much more willing to try lots of things knowing I won’t be charged at all unless I want it!

I ordered one yesterday! I will note that you don’t get free 2 day shipping with a wardrobe order. My ETA is 4/12-4/16.
I have a child with autism. I don’t have many opportunities to go clothes and shoe shopping. This is a great service for me.
There is a UPS drop off location very near to me so I can have my husband drop the return package off on his way to work.

Jamie,
I have a child with autism too – never get to go shopping, grocery shopping in a real grocery store is like a dream! I will likely try this box too, it’s great for shoes which I like to try on with a few different outfits, see how they walk around.

I have my groceries delivered from Wal-Mart. Taking my daughter to the store is a headache for both of us. It’s so much easier to pay the $9.95 delivery charge and have a week’s worth of groceries arrive at my home.
I do most of my shopping online because it’s just so much better for my family. Not having to pay upfront to test things out in the comfort of my home, when I have a spare moment of downtime, is a huge gift to me.

Seems kind of pointless to me. I can just pay for Prime clothes and have 30 or 60 days to return them if they don’t fit properly. Prices change so much, I’d probably end up saving more than the *up to $20.

Agreed. I already do this, since clothing and accessories can be returned for free. I had a wedding to attend last summer and i must’ve tried about 20 dresses, a dozen shoes, and several handbags. All delivered in 2 days and all returned within a day or two of trying then on. I’m most cases my refund was processed before my credit card statement was generated. And of course, I found the perfect ensemble after all that hard work. I love Amazon and it’s cool that they’re expanding their options, but for me, this idea is redundant.

Yes, but depending on your method of payment, you might accrue interest or not have the funds for those 30 days. Trying before paying is more financially sensible

I agree,it’s more practical for me to use this service. I have a son with autism and like to buy things without him having nuclear meltdowns. I also am about to order some shoes through prime wardrobe. I can try on the shoes with several kinds of clothes and see which I like best and return the ones I don’t want.
I don’t want to pay for 5 pairs of shoes when I want one pair I like, plus my total for the pairs I want to try would be over $500 I’d rather not wait to be reimbursed for it.
Jamie
It’s very useful for me. I don’t have a chance to do any clothing or shoe shipping because I take care of a special needs child 24/7. For my personal situation, which I realize doesn’t apply to a large group, being able to order several pairs of different shoes to try on at home with no upfront costs (aside from the cost of my Amazon Prime membership) is a huge thing.

I am sorry to hear this. It must be very hard for you.

Exactly, shame on amazon for being pushy. Those dot buttons seemed pushy at first but i gave them credit for *maybe* being practical…but now this….just makes me raise an eyebrow at them now…so sketch, like they tried to disguise it as some cool and new and exclusive benefit…smh

Seriously? “shame on them”??? How on earth is this pushy? They aren’t making you do ANYTHING. It’s an extra service, and while you may not be appreciative of it, read the other comments. There are a lot of people who are thrilled. With this, you don’t have to pay for anything unless you want to keep it. Sooo, if you’d like to PAY for your clothes, and then try them on and return them, that’s your deal.
Amber
This sounded good until I read you have to return them at a UPS location. Not exactly convenient.

You can aslo give UPS return packages to UPS driver, Staples and there’s a few other options too.

Am I understanding this right, is this another benefit of Prime membership?
