ShoeDazzle is a monthly shoe, clothing, and accessories subscription service. You can shop their merchandise like normal retail, but they have a VIP subscription that gives you better prices – many styles are only $39.95 (or less) for VIPs. When you sign up for a membership, you complete a style profile. On the 1st of every month, they release new styles, and you can pick any item you want - either from your personal "Showroom" or across the site. You can also skip the month. However, if you don’t pick or skip, you get charged $39.95 store credit to spend any time.
This model is similar to how JustFab, Fabletics, and AdoreMe work. JustFab and Shoedazzle are under the same umbrella company, actually.

Shoedazzle March 2018 Shoe Subscription Box Review
Apple Platform Oxford - Retail Value $59.95, VIP Price $39.95 (currently on sale for $23.97)
Here are my shoes this month! I'd seen them before on the Shoedazzle site, and I just couldn't resist 'em anymore!!! These platform Oxfords shoes come in gold and blush. Of COURSE, I had to try the gold on!
They're wild. Yes, I know. But something about their quirky, maximalist aesthetic really appeals to me. I should say, my general wardrobe is pretty mild. Jeans, lots of black, very few colors and patterns (unless they're black and white stripes). So if I wear these shoes, they're going to be the statement piece in my look. I feel like that's the role they're made for, though I also feel like these platforms would be amazing with an outfit that's just as bold as they are, like bright bellbottoms and a turtleneck or some boldly patterned suiting.
I will say that this pair is more fashion than function. The shoes aren't real leather, which means they're a bit stiff right out of the box. I found the toe area to be a little tight around the ball of my foot (which is a size 8). And because of the platform, which is a block of foamy, light material, the shoes aren't the most natural to walk in—they don't really bend in the middle like most shoes do, so the heels pull down a bit with each step.
That said, they are brand new—after wearing them for a little while, the gold uppers started to crinkle and relax a little bit, which helped with comfort. As with stilettos, I think I'll eventually get used to walking in these brogues, but it'll take a little while. I plan on mostly wearing these shoes to work or fancy events, where I probably won't be standing or walking around very much.
The Verdict: I'm excited to have these show-stopping shoes in my closet to help brighten up my neutral wardrobe. At $39.95, the price seems like what I'd expect to pay for shoes like these at a department store. They're exactly as I expected, and even though they're a bit stiff, I've got my fingers crossed that they'll relax the more I wear them!
