Pop Shop America Monthly Pop Box February 2018 Review

Illustrated Floral Print – Estimated Value $10
It was so rejuvenating to open the box and be greeted by these two GORGEOUS floral prints! The colors are amazing, bold, and cheery. I wish Pop Shop America let me know who the artist was!
The paper they're printed on is very thin and grainy—think the same texture as those paper placemats we used to color on with crayons at restaurants!—but the stunning nature of each illustration makes them frame-worthy in my book.
Kawaii DIY Jewelry-Making Kit – Retail value $24.00
Wrapped adorably in fern-green tissue paper was the same jewelry-making kit that Pop Shop America sells on their site, available for purchase on its own!
The kit comes with jewelry hardware (metal barrettes, bare metal rings, bobby pins, and earring studs), a wonderfully colorful variety of Kawaii figurines, and industrial strength adhesive.
I set out to make an ice cream ring! With just a small amount of glue and a few solid seconds of pressure, I was able to securely fasten the ice cream miniature to the ring.
The ring itself, unfortunately, was a bit too small for my stubby fingers, ha! It was slightly adjustable, but it didn't give too much.
If anyone knows of a sweet-toothed soul with tiny fingers and a passion for quirky jewelry, however...this might be just the ring they're lookin' for!
I also made a bee pin, a candy pin, and a sundae-topped bobby pin! The pins could have been a little sturdier, as the relatively heavy figurines were a little wobbly when I fastened the pin on my shirt, but the bobby pin was perfect.
Decorative Notepad – Listed Value $7.00
This Japanese notepad is so beautiful. It folds up and has 25 lined pages, each with a bright floral motif on the back. Its colors are going to cheer me up every time I daydream and doodle in it.
The notepad's retail value was indicated by Pop Shop America with a small $7 sticker on the back.
Gel Pen – Estimated Value $1.50
And, what's a notepad without a properly fanciful gel pen to go with it? A gold, floral overlay decorates the mint surface on this glossy, gold-tipped pen.
It writes very smoothly, in a charcoal hue! Its retail value was estimated based off of similar Kawaii gel pens found on Etsy.
Verdict: The mere variety of bold, bright colors in this month's Pop Shop America box had me smitten! I'm really looking forward to hanging the colorful illustrations, and I know the notepad is going to come in handy at work. The DIY pins are definitely going to find a home on my go-to jean jacket, but I'm not sure I'd wear any of the Kawaii figurines in my hair. Perhaps on a day that I'm feeling extra fashionably adventurous, maybe!
The estimated total value of this box was $42.50, which is right on par with Pop Shop America's appraisal. I think the DIY Jewelry Kit is a bit over-priced when it comes to the quality of the jewelry hardware, but goodness, are those Kawaii figurines cute. As a whole, I think this month's haul was well worth its value!
