  1. Also, when I saw the festival theme I was excited for glitter, bright colors, setting spray and maybe a refreshing mist or suncare product. Nothing in these boxes seems “festival ready” to me.

  2. I have box 364 and I am cancelling. I actually literally cried. Not only was has the subscription been awful, their customer service has been downright horrendous. Makeup is one of the few joys in my life right now, I budgeted everything out just so I could afford to get a PLAY! Box as a little gift for myself every month to discover new products. I chose PLAY! because it seemed to be one of the more makeup centric beauty boxes. But for some reason no matter how I try to tweak my beauty profile they keep giving me boxes with basically no makeup at all, when other boxes have several makeup products AND better skincare and haircare products. I get nothing but moisterizers and conditioner. Between box 028 in January and 364 in March there is one single actual makeup product and it’s an eyeliner that I already own.

    I wrote several messages back and forth with customer service politely asking if there was something in my profile that was making it so I was getting no makeup (I believe it it mostly the fact that I have dry skin etc, as if I just don’t know how to moisturize) and what I could to to change it, and in so many words they just basically said “that sucks” and “if you don’t like it you should cancel” which really hurt. I just hoped next month I would be able to get a couple pieces of makeup as was advertised and in everyone elses boxes. I just wanted to solve the mystery of the makeupless makeup subscription, because obviously there is some kind of basic logic behind their algorithm and there must be SOME reason I keep getting these kind of boxes, and instead was more or less TOLD to cancel.

    I never had an Ipsy box remotely as disappointing as these have been and had nothing but great customer service from Ipsy.

    Box #364 is boring, useless to me and borderline offensive as a beauty enthusiast.

    • Box 364 is the worst box i’ve ever gotten out of all the subs i’ve tried.. I’m cancelling if next month i don’t get some makeup. an eyeliner other than BLACK and maybe some decent lipstick. Ugh Sephora..

  3. I’m 364 and I just cancelled. I have fine oily hair, and the hair balm and mask will be of no use to me. I have already gotten the spray in a Play box, and the last thing I need is yet another eye liner.

    The lack of customization for the hair products is what is really annoying me.

  4. I just resubscribed this month and I’m getting box 364. This box is the worst one. 2 hair products and Stila eyeliner again. All of the other boxes have at least one lip product or 2 make-up products but this one has 2 hair. Ugh going back to Ipsy at least they mix it up.

    • Agreed on the black eyeliner! I am cancelling.

  5. Box #364 looks awesome! I can’t wait to try all the products!!!! 🙂

  6. I’m getting 364. I don’t use a setting spray, but I love Korres Greek Yogurt products. I don’t mind getting 2 hair masks as I use them regularly. I’ll probably use the eyeliner no matter what – but I’d love to get something other than black.

  7. I love the Korres foaming cleanser. I got a sample during checkout from Sephora and loved it so much, I bought the full size. Cleansers, scrubs and serums are my three favorite things to get in a box.

    • As gor hair creams and eye creams, they’re useful and it means never having to buy them as they last a long time. 😄. I like skincare the best though.

  8. enough with the foaming cleansers! they are SO drying and this is the second one we’ve gotten recently.

  9. At least one out of five is not a repeat!! 😂

  10. I’m getting box 850 and it seems really great but seriously Sephora, you can’t distribute awesome products across all boxes? It’s crazy that their boxes are like playing the lotto. There are some really great boxes, and really terrible boxes. I may cancel after this box.

  11. Someone posted box 876 on the forums with the CS response (my box too)

    -Bumble and Bumble Shampoo and Conditioner
    -Dr. Jart Premium Beauty Balm
    -Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain
    -Becca Every Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
    -IGK Mistress
    -IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Illumination

    Overall, I’m okay with this. A little jealous of those getting a Buxom liner. 🙂
    Excited to try some of these though1

  12. Box 677 looks promising.

    Just so long as the lip shade is dark and the eye pencil ANY shade but black.

  13. Ok 364 is the WORST box I have ever received. I said after the crappy boxes the last few months I would give it one more month and this box is it! I am so disappointed in the Sephora Play Box. I have been subbed since the beginning and I felt that it would be the best box since I love Sephora. It has been one of the more disappointing. I just feel like Sephora has really missed a great opportunity. They have great brands but I feel like the brands included in these boxes are B list brands. Sephora really had an opportunity to make this box exciting, but I can count on one hand the amount of products I have actually used, and I have never liked a product so much that I used my Play Pass to buy it. The boxes are so lackluster that really they should be given as a perk to Rouge members, not have them spend an additional $10 per month on crappy reject samples.

    • So true.

    • Same here. I’ve gotten a few crappy bags lately but this one SUCKS. I won’t use any of these products… watch the liner not even be black 😑

  14. I’m always excited for the latest and greatest of hair products so I’m stoked but I wanna see mine! Mines is 892 😊 and I’m happy with anything hair 😉

  15. I usually try to stay pretty positive about the box contents but I’ll admit–I have 364 and I think that this is the absolute worst Play box I’ve ever received. I think everything’s a major pass for me.

    • I agree, I don’t like to complain about the box contents either but this is HORRIBLE!

    • I have 364 and I am pretty excited. I struggle to find good hair products for my thin, straight hair. The weather has been unusually dry and my hair has been crazy with static electricity. I NEVER use the hair conditioners – but have been enjoying my samples of hair conditioning sprays. — It is FIVE new products I have never tried. I’d ditch the eye liner, or give to my daughter.

    • I don’t know if you’ve ever tried Amika’s Nourishing Mask (now called Soul Food), but if not, you may like it. It’s been great for my hair.

    • Agreed. I sub to this box mainly for the makeup and don’t mind some skincare here and there, but I’m so bummed at how much haircare is in this box. I have fine, oily hair, so the last thing I need is a box of moisturizing/hydrating products :/

    • This is my first box…. expected more makeup and got one eyeliner. Already disappointed and wishing I had gotten Ipsy like my friends. 🙁

    • I agree, I’m also getting 364 and I’m not happy. Tired of getting eyeliners repeatedly. I feel

      Sephora ignores the beauty profile that I completed when I signed up.

  16. I’m 667.
    Another mascara.
    I this this may be my last one – i have more mascaras than i can use in my lifetime.

    • I feel the same way in regards to eye liner/eye pencils ! I don’t mind getting mascaras, but I have received waaaaay too many liner/pencils from Sephora than I can ever use.

  17. I’m getting this box. It’s OK – at least, there’s not Briogeo. I’m probably one of the few but I miss getting a perfume sample.

    • I miss it too! It’s definitely part of the reason I chose Play! over other subscriptions. 😑

    • Also loved the perfume samples. I don’t mind a really high end conditioner to try but I’d rather have a perfume

  18. Like the hair samples this month, at least it isn’t another dry shampoo.

  19. New products to try so I can’t complain. Lucky for me my box spoilers always seem to come out early. I still don’t think they assign these boxes based on our profiles.

  20. My box this month but so boring. Not much I want but I guess thy can’t all be spot on.

  21. It looks like the boxes were given to people based on skin tone, not hair type. My box (#850) has a foundation, #677 has a tinted BB cream, and I’m going to guess that as the other boxes are revealed, we’ll see more face color products (foundation, tinted moisturizer, BB creams). Since #364 lacks a color product for the face, this may be the “catch all” box.

    • You might be on to something..I’m super pale so there are a lot of foundations that I can’t use.

    • I’m #850, too! Where’d you get the foundation spoiler? What kind? Im dying for spoilers!!!

      • Mel posted it in the comments below, but I’ll repost it here:

        850 has the following:
        * Verb Ghost Oil
        * Ouai Anti-Frizz Sheets (1 pack)
        * Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation
        * Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Borad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++
        * Lancome Meil-En-Mousse Foaming Cleansing Makeup Remover with Acacia Honey
        * Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner

        THANKS for sharing Mel!!

  22. Well, this month is not good. I’m #677 and I have received all of those items from play! In the past, except the briogeo. The Marajo is obviously foil packets which are useless. I want a perfume sample.

  23. nothing, I want nothing in from the first 2 spoilers. hope my box (884) has at least one item I’d use.

  24. Any spoilers for Box #144 yet? Not impressed with these, though 850 looked good.

  25. Hoo…I’m hoping I don’t get the Supergoop spray. That stuff makes a rash erupt anywhere I spray it.

  26. I have #677 and I think if I get the cream lip stain in #1 again I’m going to cancel. Got one in my box December 2016, then again February 2018. If they send me the same color two months in a row I don’t know why I would keep this subscription.

  27. I’m excited to try everything in this box, especially the Bobbi Brown moisture balm. Its reviews are wonderful, as it’s supposed to leave a dewy finish even used under foundation, and patted over makeup on high points in place of a highlighter.

  28. Oooh…. I hope I get the Supergoop setting spray. I LOVE it for SPF reapplication which I’ll need at Coachella.

  29. I am getting 364.

    I am not too excited about the Supergoop spray mainly because the poor ratings it received on Sephora. I also don’t really use those eyeliners plus who knows what color I am going to receive. I hope not blue, kind of 80’s looking. I would prefer brown or green for my eyes. Other than that I am excited for my bag.

    • It will be boring Black I’m sure they almost always are

  30. Anyone know #892 spoilers?

    • That is my bag as well, but haven’t seen any spoilers for it yet.

    • That is my bag too! I can’t wait to see what we get!

  31. Doesn’t scream “festival” to me but I haven’t tried any of these products, so pretty excited!
    Sephora play has given me a lifetime supply of black eyeliner though 😉 At least I don’t have to buy it anymore!

  32. So excited. Two hair products to try, a 50 SFP mist, another skincare product and an eyeliner?! I’m here for it!

  33. This is my box, my first one from sephora play and I’m excited. These are all products I want to try.

  34. #364 Is my box. I’m loving the selections this month.

  35. Getting 364 but it makes no sense, I have straight, oily hair and need products that add volume. Shrug.

    • We have the same profile. And the same box. I think Sephora stopped trying.

    • 364 also. 2 different hair products in one box. I’d much rather give up a hair care product or two for something else. I’m a color treated redhead so hair products for me is a trial and error to begin with.

      • 2 different hair products that are essential the same hair product. Why do we need 2 hair masks??

        • As box filler I suppose. I’d much rather gotten that mascara instead of a hair product. The spoiler for the other box didn’t appeal to me either.

    • I agree that some months (at least) Sephora seems like they stopped trying. I have the same type of hair but am getting box 850 instead. Hoping I do better in the lottery this month than I have been lately….

      • 850 has the following:

        * Verb Ghost Oil
        * Ouai Anti-Frizz Sheets (1 pack)
        * Sephora Collection Matte Perfection Powder Foundation
        * Murad Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Borad Spectrum SPF 30 PA+++
        * Lancome Meil-En-Mousse Foaming Cleansing Makeup Remover with Acacia Honey
        * Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner

        • This is promising!

          • Agreed. I have subscriped to Sephora and Ipsy for more than a year, and BoxyCharm for about 6 months, and this is the first lipliner I am receiving. YAY! Really excited about the Murad, too. Also looking forward to the makeup remover. I have the Farmacy stuff from last month in my cart, but will give this one a try before pulling the trigger.

        • oh, noooo, I wish I got the 364, but I am getting 850. And I don’t want any of them, so sad

    • Same profile, same box. I’m unsubscribing. As much as I love samples, I haven’t had a box I liked in months. I really don’t understand how I keep getting heavy deep conditioners and lotions when I have fine, oily hair and normal skin.

  36. Second month in a row that I’m getting TWO cheap Sephora products. Next months better be amazing or I’m done.

    • Sephora products are very comparable or even better than other brands sold at Sephora and high end brands. Since they produce them themselves, they can keep the price low. They are not cheap in quality, only in price. Amazing formulations! Don’t drink the “it’s expensive so it MUST be better” Kool Aid.

      • Seriously, I get so excited when I get a Sephora branded product in my box. If I fall in love with it, I know if won’t break the bank! I’ve been loving the lipstick and stain I got in last box! 🙂

    • I agree that Sephora products are great quality at a great price. I’ve like everything I’ve gotten that is a sephora brand.
