PawPack is a subscription box for dogs. They are now owned by Pet GiftBox, and they’ve recently undergone a bit of rebranding. Treats are still all-natural and premium, but this box is now marketed more towards heavy chewers (like my dog!). For reference, my dog is a Rottweiler, who currently weighs about 87 pounds.
This is a review of the large (51+ pound) dog box ($31.5o per month).

PawPack February 2018 Review

FouFIT Emoji Toy (love) – Retail Value $9.99
This is a spiked rubber ball with a squeaker and a mesh covering. This was small enough to fit into Nyx’s mouth, but not too small that I was worried she’d swallow it. She did manage to destroy the mesh coating in a fairly short period of time, so watch your dog carefully, especially if you have a heavy chewer.
Zippypaws Burrows Valentine’s Heart and Bears – Retail Value $13.99
I have received Zippypaws burrow toys before and they’re just not appropriate for a large dog. The little bears are supposed to be detached (if you look at the picture on the Zippypaws site, linked to in the item name) and they are way too small for me to feel comfortable giving them to Nyx. This will be passed on to someone with a smaller dog.
Loving Pets It’s Purely Natural Chicken Tenders (4 oz) – Retail Value $7.99
These are made in the US. They do have brown rice flour in addition to the chicken so they are not suitable for Nyx, who can’t have protein or grains. However, they’re free of wheat, corn, and soy, so they will work for a lot of dogs with food sensitivities. They are preserved with Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols) and rosemary rather than chemical preservatives.
Exclusively Dog Lickorish Chews (strawberry, 7 oz) – Retail Value $5.99 (found here for $4.59)
These are made in the USA and are free of wheat, corn, and soy. The first ingredient is barley flour, which should be fine for most dogs. These also contain fish oil so they may help some with skin and coat issues. I like that they’re colored with beet powder and that the preservatives are all natural (vitamin E, rosemary, citric acid).
Loving Pets Bella Bowls – Retail Value $5.99
This is a stainless steel food dish. It is honestly a bit too small for Nyx (she could just pick it up and turn it over) but it will work for one of the cats (Sneaky has about 6 food dishes so we don’t have to wash them often; she leaves little wet food crusties inside them).
Nyx enjoyed trying to pull the coating off this ball (she did eventually get some off so I had to take it away). This was not the most durable toy we’ve ever received from PawPack.
Verdict: I calculated a value of $43.95 for the February PawPack. That is definitely above the cost of the box on a month-to-month basis. However, I’m a bit disappointed in the contents this month. Although this box is marketed towards heavy chewers, Nyx destroyed the ball pretty quickly. Furthermore, the toys (and food dish) weren’t really suitable for a dog Nyx’s size (perhaps if your dog was closer to 50 pounds? but Nyx weighs more than 80 pounds).
