Wantable Fitness February 2018 Review
The box comes with a booklet that contains a list of the pieces inside as well as a note from my stylist. In my experience, you get a new stylist for each order, rather than keeping the same one. This month, I got Natalia, who left a quick note about her favorite pieces in the box, as well as a reminder about the discount for keeping three or more items.
There were also some promotional papers in the box. Wantable's revamped a lot of things for 2018!
In the style quiz I took when signing up, I noted the types of things I like, love, and dislike wearing, as well as the price range I'd be most comfortable spending on different pieces (like tops, bottoms, and tertiary styles like jackets, etc.). To get a feeling for the prices and quality I should expect with this subscription, I picked the mid-range price bracket. It looks like the items I got in this box run from $39.00-$72.00.
They also include a pre-paid shipping envelope to use with whatever you decide to return. Note that the return window is limited, so you'll want to try on your pieces and make your picks as soon as you can after getting your package. I like that Wantable sends a bunch of notification emails during my return period to make sure I don't miss my deadline. I had to extend my deadline this month, which I easily did with a quick email to Wantable. They let me know that there's also a way to extend your deadline from within your account using a new tool called the Plan Manager. Awesome!
Just for reference, I usually wear a 10 in jeans, a medium (like a 6 or an 8) in tops and t-shirts, and I'm a 36B. I'm also just 5' 3". In short, I'm short. And a little curvy.
Here's my first full outfit!
Superdry Sport Gymtech Luxe Funnel Sweatshirt in Deep Berry, Size Medium - Cost to Keep $49.00
This pullover rulesssss! I love how the thick (polyester 66%, Viscose 28%, elastane 6%) fabric is because it gives the sweatshirt a lot of flattering structure. But wow is it ever comfortable, nonetheless. The fabric is smooth and hefty, but really soft and stretchy in a way that makes it feel cozy and hugging, rather than flimsy. I'm also wild about the color. I had some berry hues in last month's order, and I'm so stoked to see that carried over into this month's selections. And while I'm usually so-so about logos, these ones seem crisp and modern and sporty. Wearing this pullover makes me feel like some kind of cool snowboarder or something, hehe.
Mono B Colorblock Panel Leggings in Magenta, Size Large - Cost to Keep $59.00
More beautiful berry colors! Not to brag, but I feel like this color looks awesome on me, ha! It might read a bit fall, but I'm eager to wear it well into the spring and summer just because I like it so much! The panels streaking across the thighs look cool and seem to be placed in a way that's flattering and sporty. The leggings are 88% polyester and 12% spandex. They feel like thick knit leggings, but they're super sleek, cool to the touch, and have enough oomph to make me feel like all my curves are secure, snuggly hugged in. The tippy top of these high-waisted leggings seems to nip in just a bit, so that they stay sitting high on my hips. (I hate when high-waisted leggings shimmy down through the day, or worse, in the first five minutes of a fitness class...) I'm super happy with these leggings. And I love how well they match the pullover!
Mono B Colorblock Bra in Black and Gray, Size Medium - Cost to Keep $39.00
More matchy-matchy styles! This bra is pretty cool. It's 85% polyester and 15% spandex, moisture-wicking, and complete with removable cups. But I think I would've gotten it in a size larger. Not because it's uncomfortable on—it actually lays across my wider shoulders nicely. It's just that pulling it on is tricky because of how stiff it is. It doesn't have as much give (that goes double for the mesh back straps) as I thought it might, so I feel like I'm really pushing its limits when I try to wriggle it on.
Next look! Props to Natalia for picking pieces that really do coordinate well together!
MPG Sport Esme Knit Sweatshirt in Black, Size Medium - Cost to Keep $72.00
This sweatshirt was a real surprise for me. The material is 88% Polyester and 12% Spandex, which makes it feel like a thick, super-smooth version of a classic cotton sweatshirt. It has a good weight to it, too, so it feels warmer and (this might sound weird, but) more soothing than a cotton sweatshirt I'd swing on. It's the kind of thing that'd I'd love to have hugging my body during a just-out-of-bed yoga practice. Speaking of hugging, the sleeves had a surprising narrowness about them—the majority of the sleeve feels normal, but the wrists get really narrow so that you feel like your hands and wrists are getting a comfy little squeeze.
Glyder Vital 7/8 Legging in Black and White Pin Stripe, Size Large - Cost to Keep $72.00
I'm not a huge fan of cropped leggings, but these 7/8 leggings give my ankles a little breathing room while still being flatteringly long. I looooooove this pattern. I know, it's so super simple, but it's also super me. I like the versatility (they're sort of a next-level version of black leggings that go with anything), and something about the thinness of the white lines feels really modern, minimalist, and cool to me. The fabric feels awesome, too. It's a lot like a thicker stretch cotton, despite it being 88% nylon and 12% spandex. The high waist has that same nipped-in top line as the Mono B leggings, so they stay put, too.
Glyder Vintage Vinyasa Bra Black and White Pin Stripe, Size Medium - Cost to Keep $54.00
I. Love. This. Top! The longer line is so flattering and wildly comfortable. It feels really fresh, style-wise, too. The neckline is different from most other bras I've tried, and I'm so pleased with how secure I feel in it, despite the little plunge. And again, it's black and white, which is super me. It's the same fabric as the leggings, which is comfy and cottony, if thick. I feel so cool in this set!
Free People Movement Think Future Hoodie in Gray, Size Medium - Cost to Keep $68.00
This order was full of great pullovers. This one wasn't my favorite, style-wise, but I've got to say, it SURE was comfortable! It feels a lot like a vintage 80s sweatshirt. It's a cotton-blend top with sort of slouchy shoulders and a big kangaroo pocket. I think the way it all sits on me isn't the most flattering, but again, I would love to snuggle into this big, soft sweatshirt after a hard class!
The Verdict: I was so excited to see the color palette in this month's box. The burgundy colors felt really flattering, and of course, I swoon for anything black and white. I was also really pleased with the way these pieces fit. The high-waisted leggings were both designed in a way that they stayed put. And my curves felt supported, rather than crammed into/about to fall out of the looks.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Wantable curates its boxes based on each individual's preferences as well as what's available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!
Value Breakdown: This box cost $20.00 with free shipping. The total retail value of the items inside was $413.00. If I keep 5 or more items, I'll get 20% off of that amount. Oh, and remember that my $20.00 styling fee goes towards whatever I buy. In short, if I kept everything, I would spend $310.40.
