Sticky Kit February 2018 Review

sticky kit thank you note

On the back of the little “Enjoy your February Kit” welcome card is this quick thank you with info about where to find Sticky Kit online.

Botanical Mini Card

Sticky Kit includes a bonus non-tape item in their washi tape kits and this time I received a little card with green floral borders. The size of this card reminds me of something you might find attached to a bouquet of flowers, just like last month’s. Sometimes I like to leave little “Hey—you’re the best!” notes for my husband if we have a busy week where we don’t get to see much of each other, and this card is perfect for something like that. Especially since we tend to save our little notes to each other in a shoebox for looking back on years later. 🙂

BGM Rain Water ‘Usui’ Washi Tape – Retail Value $3.00

I’m going to say off the bat that I’m exceedingly pumped about this month’s selections! I am a true nature-lover, so the nature theme of almost all of this month’s tapes are making my heart sing! This first one is so well-suited to this week. Where I live, it’s been rainy day after rainy day, and while it’s a little relentless, it’s also a little romantic. This navy blue and white washi tape plays into the romance of it all with its lovely leaves and puddle reflections. Ahh, good vibes.

Spacecraft Roundtop Moon Washi Tape – Retail Value $4.85

There are a lot of cute washi tapes out there in the world, but this one has quickly found a place at the tippy-top of my favorites list. Its watercolor moon phase pattern, complete with little moon terminologies printed beneath them (they’re hard to see from this image!), is so awesomely on-trend and I love love love it! The colors are nice ‘n’ vibrant, while the die-cut scalloped top edge offers a unique spin. I’m going to save this tape only for the most worthy of taping occasions (like mail to my bestie) and be so sad when this roll is gone!

Soupy Tang Plants Washi Tape – Retail Value $5.90

Now, I didn’t think my love for the moon phase tape could be topped, but this roll—furnished with little plant illustrations by Taiwanese artist Soupy Tang—might just have done it. As the nature person I declared myself to be earlier, this little plant study is just the most precious thing to me. I love that it’s mostly green, but with the occasional splash of color via little petals. This tape would be great to incorporate into homemade plant labels for my garden come spring!

MT Hanabishi Kiku Washi Tape – Retail Value $4.36

If you’re wondering how my enthusiasm could possibly continue to grow from there, buckle in! This washi tape is my VERY FAVORITE COLOR! The other day I was sitting on my couch reading a book and looked up to realize I was wearing a mustard yellow sweatshirt that matched the pillow I was hugging, the print on my rug, and my nail polish exactly. It’s a lifestyle! I also adore the retro burst pattern on this tape, and I think I’ll use it to label the folders in my filing cabinet when I do some reorganizing this week.

The Verdict: This month’s Sticky Kit Washi Tape selection had me smiling from ear to ear! The colors, design themes, and artistic touches were so wonderfully true to my style—it was as if someone personally selected tapes that I’d love. So happy!

  1. Mustard yellow rocks I agree!! lots of things in this colour in my apartment too.

This box is actually quite affordable considering they are shipping real washi tape from Japan. I think I will give this subscription a try.
