Here's the info card for the box. On the back of the product list, there's a little introduction to this month's featured contributor, The Penny Paper Co.!

Oooo, and look at this! A little promo from Parabo Press! (Did you know about the Parabo Press subscription box?)

Quirky Girl Weekender Bag - Listed Value $38.00

Wow! This is the biggest item I've gotten in a Quirky Crate box—I definitely didn't expect something so big and bold, and I'm very pleased! It's about 17 inches long, so it's a nice little weekender or a spacious gym bag. The one end has an external zippered pocket, and there are both handles and an adjustable shoulder strap. According to a tiny tag on the inside, it's made of recyclable materials, too. Practicality aside, it's just plain cute, isn't it?! I have a well-loved duffel bag that's a similar size that's navy and brown—it looks awfully sad in my closet with this vibrant bag next to it! I'll pop it over my shoulder and show you what it looks like on at the end of this review, so stay tuned!

yellow yay pillowcase

YAY! Pillow Cover - Listed Value $14.00

This 16.5" x 16.5" pillow cover is soooo cute! I love the colors and the bold, graphic text. The material isn't the greatest—it feels a little stiff—but it's such a fun design that I don't mind if it's not the softest thing. I can't wait to add this to my couch! I've got little bits of yellow in my living room that I think will really pop with this accent in the room.

gumball machine pin

Enamel Gumball Machine Pin by the Penny Paper Co. - Retail Value $9.00, Listed Value $8.00

Next up is the pin by the featured artist! To be honest, I'm not a big gumball fan, but I do love the rainbow colors in this charming 1.5" pin! The gumball colors go beyond bold primary hues—there are pinks and lilacs and sky blues in there, too. It'd look adorable on my lapel, but I might hang on to this one and gift it to a candy-loving friend!

rainbow socks

Idea Socks - Listed Value $7.00

I couldn't find a price for these socks online, but I am soooo loving the pattern! As evidenced by my love of the palette in the gumball pin, I've been getting more and more into rainbows lately—not as the central part of my outfit (my heart belongs to neutrals...) but definitely in the jewelry and accessories I wear with it. I love the offbeat tones here. The socks have a sort of 70s/80s vibe to them. I have a pair of old Swedish Hasbeen platform-clog-style shoes that tend to come out around this time each year, and I feel like those retro shoes would look amazing with these snazzy stripes.

retro sunglasses

Sunglasses - Listed Value $15.00

It's an awesome thing to have good vision, but my solid eyesight means I never got to play around with how fun glasses can be! I love how the right glasses can change an outfit's entire vibe. For now, I get my kicks from my ever-growing collection of big, bold sunglasses. This pair is unlike anything I have right now. The swooping designs on the arms and the winged-out corners make these glasses seem like something that belongs in the front seat of an old-school convertible. They fit well, and I love that the lenses are on the bigger side so the sun doesn't get in. I'll pop 'em on at the end of this review for ya!

hamburger notes

Ooly Hamburger Notebook - Retail Value $4.99, Listed Value $5.00 (Found here for $1.49)

This little notebook is a great example of what I love most about this subscription! This notepad is perfectly useful for short, sticky-note-length reminders, but the design is so darn unexpected and awesome. Practical, incredibly playful, clever as all get out... ugh, I think it is so cool! There are 90 sheets in this burger baby, so it'll last me a while. Unlike other notebooks where I'd just start with the top page and work down, I might skip around so I don't run out of bun too soon! (Though a bunless burger is tasty now and then!)

blue cloud pen

Cloud Pen - Listed Value $3.00

Eeeee! This cloud pen is adorable! It also has the fine-pointed, scratchy nib that I love to write with. The ink is black, but the pen is a pleasant pastel blue. The cloud and lightning bolt feel like a decoration for my pen cup.

Okay, ready for the fashion show?

Do I look cool? I feel very cool.

This gal looks ready for a vacation, right? Or at least some warm weather!

Verdict: Quirky Crate rules, y'all. I am so into the surprising assortments of items they bring to the table month to month. My favorite part has to be the artist-designed enamel pins they include in their boxes. It feels good to know that they're supporting smaller artists, and I feel awesome getting unique new pins to add to my jacket (and discovering new designers to buy from in the future)! Price-wise, eh, it might feel a little on the expensive side for what you get (the price of the bag felt a teensy bit higher than what I'd be willing to pay for something similar in a store, for example), but the experience of cracking open this doodle-covered box each month and unveiling a new, curated collection of smile-inducing surprises is worth it to me. I feel like it'd make an amazing gift (college care package, anyone?) for someone who could use something fun to look forward to.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Order soon to get the March box! Boxes ship of the 15th of each month.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $40.94 (price + US shipping), though I estimate that I got about $90.99 worth of products inside. Most of that value is based on the prices listed on the info card, though. Another way to see it is that the average price I paid for each item is $5.85.

I’m obsessed with the enamel pin this month. My little 6 foot 4 brother had gumball machines growing up so that makes me smile thinking of him. I hated the taste of those things but he would shove his mouth full of them till he looked like a chipmunk.

Glasses look great on you! Love this sub. Unfortunately I feel like I’m too old for this. It would have been something I’d love as a teen

I’m 30 and I feel about a million years too old for this. I work with middle and high schoolers and they would definitely be more into it than me.

Hehehe, sometimes even I feel a little too old for the things in this subscription! But I love them so much, I figure, eh, why not? Plus, I like that most of the things are small enough that you can kind of pepper them into your adult life. That notepad, you can tuck into your desk drawer for special occasions, the pin you can wear on the lapel of an otherwise sophisticated peacoat… there are little ways to sneak these quirky items into grown-up world without making toooo much of a scene 🙂
