February 2018 Mini Monthly Box Of Awesome For Dogs Review

This month featured two bags of treats, a toy, and an exclusive calendar.

It usually comes with a bunch of coupons to their other websites or partners.

Go Dog Dragon Toy – Value $10-12 based on other GoDog products

I couldn’t find this exact plush toy online – so I’m ballparking the value based on GoDog’s similar toys.

The dragon has a squeaker to get your pup going, plus it is made with something they call Chew Gaurd Technology – supposedly making it harder to tear apart.

This is the “If I play with this, do I get treats next?” look. he never was fully excited about this toy.

Dogs Love Snapeas – Value $6 on Amazon

The first treat smelled so good that I almost had a try! I love those little snapeas from Trader Joes – and so does Buckles!

These are crunchy little puffs – Buckles is very into it.

This was the highlight of the box for Buckles – and they’re pretty light, so I don’t feel bad about using them as a random treat during the day.

Emmy’s Gourmet Canine Creations Bone – Value $1.50-2 based on similar items

The final item for our dog in the bag was a crunchy treat.

He’s had a few of these recently – this is the ‘three cheese pleaser’ version that has, well, three kinds of cheese!

This one was harder to break apart than past treats from Emma’s – so I was a bit worried about him trying it. Needless to say, he was up for the challenge and chomped it up.

Pet Treat Dogs of the Year 2018 Calendar – Value $5-10?

The final item for February is a 2018 calendar featuring some pups that are featured with Pet Treater goods.

It’s a fun little desktop calendar – Buckles is just wondering how he didn’t make the cut!

Verdict: This is a great low-cost option for dog treats and toys – it hasn’t disappointed since it started! If you’re looking for something monthly that is a lower cost than the bigger dog boxes, this is it!

  1. I actually just called them about the lag time and basically everyone’s box ships the week of the 10th. So next week Feb boxes will ship. It will always be a month behind. If my dog didn’t do cartwheels over this box I would cancel.

  2. Ok so I was correct in my thinking and not the only that didn’t get Jan until Feb. I never got Jan and after many emails and finally a call I got this one. I still haven’t gotten Feb.

Bam Bam is 8 lbs and he lays on his back and throws this dragon up in the air and then catches it in his mouth. He loves it. I’ve tried to get him on video but he is worse than a kid. I really didn’t think the peas were going to be a winner but he likes them.

  3. This was actually the January box that didn’t ship till Feb. I cancelled my sub because it would come so late all the items were out of date by the time they arrived. The bandanas sent for Halloween came in November, the Christmas Naughty and Nice came in January. At least they had the foresight to put in Valentines day in January so it would get some use.

Cancelled this sub on Feb 9 because January shipped Feb 8 and Feb was due to be billed Feb 12.

I agree with @julesjohnston that the treats in this box are not appropriate for the larger dogs. Mostly I have been getting trainer size treats, which are good for stashing in my pocket during walks but not for a good chew.

  4. I was a bit disappointed this month. I subscribe to the large dog subscription but the items were the same except for the toy from the above review. My disappointment was partly due to our package arriving damaged, which I know is not at fault of Daily Deal. The Valentine dog bone was crushed but my dog (a lab!) didn’t care, she ate it anyway The calendar was destroyed. Honestly, I felt this was a low-cost filler item so it went directly into the recycling bin. The sanppeas were not a fave of my lab, who usually loves vegetables. I feel that the large breeds should get more chewy, time consuming treats. The cranberry-chicken thingies from last month were devoured with a big grin! The toy (a duck or goose shaped thing made out of canvas) was pretty lame. My dog looked at me like “what the heck am I supposed to do with that?” I’m glad the price increase won’t affect me because I don’t think I would continue if it did.

  5. Why did you leave out the price increase that will be happening soon for this box?

    • Oops! Sorry that was a mistake on our part. Updating the review now. Thanks for letting us know!
