Infinite Style by Ann Taylor Box January 2018 - Return Bag

Infinite Style by Ann Taylor always provides this free return shipping package that makes returning all or some of your items on time super easy!

Let’s see what styles I received!

Infinite Style by Ann Taylor Box January 2018 - Wide Cuff Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater in Night Sky Infinite Style by Ann Taylor Box January 2018 - Wide Cuff Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater in Night Sky Detail Infinite Style by Ann Taylor Box January 2018 - Wide Cuff Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater in Night Sky Sleeve Infinite Style by Ann Taylor Box January 2018 - Wide Cuff Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater in Night Sky Neck Detail

Wide Cuff Ribbed Turtleneck Sweater in Night Sky - Retail Value: $59.99, Cost to Keep: $53.50

This turtleneck is everything! I love the deep navy color and the beautiful wide cuff. The fabric is made of 100% Extrafine Merino Wool that is soft and just hugs to my body. I could see myself wearing this constantly with a pair of skinny jeans with a hat like I did today, to a high waisted skirt, or even with a pair of tomboy jeans and sneakers. I really love basic pieces that have a bit of flair to them, and this turtleneck gives me that solid structure with a little "look at me" action on the sleeve.

Mock Neck Lantern Sleeve Top in Silver Dust Melange - Retail Value: $59.50, Cost to Keep: $23.50

We have another winner! This top is another piece that just speaks to me. It is a basic that I can wear constantly yet you have this incredible detail with the lantern sleeve. I don't love it paired with the skirt, but I know I can make this look more "me" with a pair of jeans and booties. As an added bonus, this top is extremely comfortable, a poly, rayon, and spandex blend. It is light enough to take me into the spring as well!

Infinite Style by Ann Taylor Box January 2018 - Flared Flounce Skirt in Jubilee Infinite Style by Ann Taylor Box January 2018 - Flared Flounce Skirt in Jubilee Detail

Flared Flounce Skirt in Jubilee - Retail Value: $79.00, Cost to Keep: $47.00

I don't love the way I styled this outfit, I think I would wear it again with a different top and shoes. I honestly felt a bit frumpy in this style, I was really hoping to feel super sexy in this piece in hopes to wear it on Valentine's Day. I do love the pop of red and the feel of the skirt. It is made of viscose, nylon, and spandex so it truly is a comfortable style that you could wear from day to night. I think with the price and the overall fit it just wasn't for me.

The Verdict: I used to shop at Ann Taylor all the time, but I fell away from it as their styles and my own personal style changed. I am loving that Infinite Style by Ann Taylor is reintroducing me to the brand and I am loving the styles I have received so far! The pieces that I received in this box were the perfect minimal styles that I am always looking for. The two tops would allow me to feel comfortable while still looking fashionable. I will say that this box is not budget friendly, if you are on a budget like I am, you might find yourself utilizing the rental service more than purchasing at the discounted price. While I haven't kept any of my pieces just yet, I am loving getting a feel for the brand and discovering styles that I might not normally try on.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each box is customized for you so a box will ship within a few days of building your closet profile!

Value Breakdown: This box costs me $95, but I received a total retail value of $198.49. I can wear and return for free, or have the option to purchase any of the three pieces for a discounted price.

I feel like the clothing rental boxes would be a great option if you are in the process of losing weight. To have a changing wardrobe that you can changes sizes as you need would be perfect as when you reach your goal you’re not stuck with a ton of clothes that no longer fit!

Cute stuff, you look great! 🙂

I am thinking about this one especially after your pics but I really don’t NEED this and Gwynnie Bee and I’m grandfathered in with the old price model there so I’m getting 3 items out at a time and only paying about $60 per month.

Thank you so much! I am loving this box so I feel like you can’t go wrong!

I think that the problem with the skirt was actually the black pantyhose, not the skirt itself. Nude pantyhose always looks better on women.

Thank you for your post! I am a black tights kinda gal, but I am going to try the skirt without any tights next time.

Know what kind of pantyhose always looks better on women? Whatever kind they want.

I love the sleeves on the gray top. When I was a young adult the bell sleeves were in style and I hated them. I worked in an office and they were always moving papers on my desk around and to the floor. More times than not I would wind up with food on my sleeve from reaching across the plate. Good luck.

This is exactly the business model of the Gwynnie Bee which has just expanded to include all sizes, just not plus. I think for plus size gals it makes more sense as much of traditional retail doesn’t cater to their body type. I am on the cusp where I can where most traditional retailers and the lower sizes of GB. I just “paused” my GB after a few months to see if I can live without it! The thing about GB is that you basically choose your clothing as they almost always send the things that you have designated as your “priorities” in your closet. This does give you control over what you receive which I liked.

The price of this box, being that it is a rental service box, is literally unbelievable!! I mean I am shocked that at that price you get nothing to keep. They will have a very hard time competing with other rental/stylist service boxes as a lot of the price points are much lower…. like $25 usually, and then they even let you put that towards a piece you want to keep!

$95/mo for maybe 9 pieces a month that you have to send back? I never quite understand clothing rental services. Are you washing these items? Are people sending them back stretched out and damaged? I don’t see the value personally.

I also hate that sleeves can’t just be sleeves anymore. D:

The second outfit looks really good on you! But I also do agree that the skirt would stand out a lot better with a different top.

Taryn, great review!!

I understand why you provided a total RV for the clothing you received, but maybe there is a better way to talk about the overall value of the box. It’s true that the RV of the clothing received is nearly twice the cost of the box, but unfortunately, that value only lasts until you return the items, whereas the money is gone forever.

Plus, … and the results of this next calculation astonish me…

Let’s say that – theoretically – you wanted to buy everything in the box. It would cost $124 (discounted RV) + $95 (cost of box) = $219! Yikes!! That’s $20.51 more than the original RV! Granted, you do get to “test drive” the clothes first, but wow…This does not seem like a consumer friendly model. I would love to know how many subscribers they get.

They sent you some very pretty pieces and they flatter you well! I love Ann Taylor and Loft (well, at sale/outlet prices anyway lol), but I really can’t get over the cost of this box for a straight-up rental. Also, the discounted prices aren’t low enough IMO considering the up front cost of the box. I would say it *might* appeal to me if you were allowed to keep an item from each box for free. That way, for $95, you’d get one piece to add to your wardrobe and the fun of trying two new things each month that go back. If I’m spending $1,100 a year, I would want something to “show” for it!

I could see this being a good way to wear some dry-clean only clothing without having to deal with cleaning bills. Getting three boxes a month sounds challenging though since there’s the mailing time and you’d want to wear the clothing before returning it. I’m assuming that they went with a speedy option for mailing and not one where your packages sit for a week in Nebraska. I would imagine the clothing may have been worn before (otherwise what would AnnTaylor do with returned clothes?).
