Gwynnie Bee February 2018 Review
This review is of the 3 items at a time subscription from 1/21 through 2/20.
JONES NEW YORK - Cranberry Colorblock Sweater
This sweater is not really my style but I wound up really enjoying wearing it. I like the cut and neckline a lot, and the colors are just lovely! I also thought the nylon/viscose knit was really comfortable and soft, and I definitely prefer it to the more typical acrylic sweater. Sometimes stepping outside my comfort zone yields pleasant surprises!
LUCKY BRAND - Floral Printed Knit Mix Top
Lucky is one of my all-time favorite brands, and this cotton-blend top is awesome! The sleeves have cool sheer panels, and I really like the open neckline with tassels. I enjoyed wearing this top, and I am definitely going to keep my eye open for it in the Gwynnie Bee shop!
DESIGN HISTORY - Open Face Cardigan With Tie Details In Black
This black nylon blend cardigan is really cute, and I love the tie sleeve details! Very stylish! I think the ties turn a pretty basic garment into a fun and unusual piece. I also felt it was a flattering length.
LUCKY BRAND - Iona Patterned Cardigan
This wool blend coat was super warm! It is also Lucky Brand, but the pattern and color scheme was not my favorite. It was fun to wear once, though, which is the beauty of Gwynnie Bee. I just sent it back when I was done with it!
UNIQUE VINTAGE - Delores Dress In Green
For the first time ever since being a Gwynnie Bee member (2+ years now), I have to say that I received a really low-quality garment. This poly blend dress is such a beautiful color, and the cut is so interesting, I was really hoping this dress would work out for me. Unfortunately, as soon as my husband zipped it up, the zipper popped back open. I've never used this word in a review before, but it's the only one that fits in this case: it was a cheap zipper. It is completely within my capabilities to pop open a zipper because I am trying to squeeze into something that's too tight, but I assure you, that is not what happened in this case. The dress was not too small, it is just not very well made. It's disappointing, but Gwynnie Bee's track record in terms of quality overall is still remarkably good.
DEMOCRACY - Honey Ikat Peasant Top
What a fun top! I really like the boho aesthetic of this poly blend blouse as well as the open neckline. It can also be worn off the shoulder! I liked the colors and pattern, too.
STYLE & CO - Cowl Neck Geo Print Sweater
I was pleasantly surprised that this was a cotton blend sweater with a really soft, natural fiber feel. I like the pattern a lot, but I think the print is so small that the colors blended into one that is not super flattering on me. It hardly mattered, though, because this piece was so easy to wear. I enjoyed wearing it.
LUCKY BRAND - Scoop Neck Navy Print Top
I received several pieces from Lucky Brand this month, and this top exemplifies what I love about the brand. The cut is flattering, the cotton blend fabric is soft and feels natural, and the sleeves have the stylish details that are the hallmark of Lucky Brand. I don't know if I have ever had smoked sleeves like these, but they are really flattering and easy to wear!
KENSIE - Long Sleeve Top With Stitch Details In Pink Prairie Print
I wasn't sure I would like this color on me, but I really enjoyed wearing this top! I love the trim and the smocking details, too! This blouse is a sheer chiffon with a solid pink nylon lining. It was actually really comfortable, and I thought it looked nice, too.
EN CREME - Lace Trim Red Bohemian Tunic
This cotton/poly blend tunic is much, much shorter on the model! I usually love boho pieces, but this tunic, while stunning, just felt kind of like "too much" for me. Like I should maybe be wearing it to a Renaissance festival? It is very well made, but between the length and all the extra details, it just didn't feel like my style.
LUCKY BRAND - Ditsy Floral Lace Up Peasant Top
I had a really Lucky month this month! This is another cotton blend top that I loved for all the same reasons I mentioned above. In this case, I really loved the gold embroidered trim on the open neckline as well as the tassels. So cute!
The Verdict: I love Gwynnie Bee! This month I made a bit of an effort to turn pieces over quickly, and I feel like I really got my money's worth in terms of quantity. My only real disappointment was the green dress, but again, that kind of issue has never happened to me before with Gwynnie Bee, so it's not that big of a deal to me. Everything else was great! I like trying new things all the time, and Gwynnie Bee gives me loads of new options! It's so fun!
