Rachel Pally Reversible Clutch in Bloom

FYI - if you want to pick your clutch pattern, make sure to upgrade your FabFitFun subscription to annual!

And here are a few of us modeling the clutch:

From Anna:

I really love the fact that this bag is double-sided! Once we get closer to summer, the pink, palm-printed side will likely take center stage more often, but for now, I'm digging that I can just change the direction of the fold and have a really smart-looking mint-green clutch.

From Sara:

This clutch is the perfect color-pop to my typical neutral outfits. The mustard faux leather compliments black and gray perfectly, but I can also show off the floral patterned canvas for a bigger statement accessory.

From me:

I'm ready for Spring and Summer weather, so these patterns and colors are so bright and fun right now! I decided to try mixing patterns, and I thought the floral clutch added the right amount of pop to this maxi.

And in case you missed the first spoiler, this box will also include:

ISH Beauty Lip Statement Palette - Retail Value $42

Mix any shades to create infinite combinations of lip colors, customized by you! Add the tinted lip topper for a hint of sheen and a touch of added moisture. Paraben free. Gluten free. Cruelty free

Here are all the shades swatched:

The pigment is great throughout the palette, and the formulas are moisturizing and creamy, too!

I LOVED the winter box and so I decided to do the annual subscription starting with this box. I don’t regret my decision, but I have to say, this box is not shaping up to be nearly as good for me as the winter box. The only thing in this box so far I’m excited about is the lip palette. I just remind myself that the palette is $40 and even though that’s highly overpriced that makes up most of the cost of the box right there. If you consider the candle and the clutch, both of which I’m definitely going to use, the cost of the box is more than made up for. So, while not super exciting like winter, it’s not the end of the world either. Still holding out hope for the remaining items. I can’t imagine the vinyl eye mask being comfortable, what if you want to sleep on your side, I’m pretty sure that will shift and be too heavy, not to mention sweaty. And the jewelry pieces were definitely NOT my style, but I can be adventurous enough in my style to wear the black earrings once in a while. I’m pretty new to subscription boxes so this is still pretty fun to me. Also, there’s always Poshmark/eBay, for unwanted items.

Anyone have and reviews or opinions for the Summer and Rose sunglasses in the add ons? I was eyeing a pair that look cute but wasn’t sure about the quality. I know most sunglasses are made in China and have relatively similar manufacturing processes, so even knock offs can be decent and all are overpriced, even name brands. If they are decent quality, I think $19 isn’t bad for average/good if the design is awesome. But if they are horrible quality, the no return policy is harsh.

I determine my style is too classic for this box. I’ve been a subscriber four years and just cancelled. I’m prepaid until autumn so I’ll get a few last boxes. I know I’ll get my money from this box with gifting or reselling the items. I’m most excited about the Korres and vaguely okay with the candle if it smells nice. The items are too trendy and the value is inflated. The clutch is cute but I don’t use clutches in my fairly boring life, the jewelry looks really cheap, the eye mask is okay.

Reply ButtonReply

Kayla

I love this box, I’m a rare subscriber because I love this one more than the winter box. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Elena

I’m with you!

Reply ButtonReply

Angela Giering

I canceled no more boxes. I was do for renewal on the 20th but seeing the spoilers. I didnt like a thing in this box and I only wanted a couple add ons but wasnt worth it to me to stay and get that box and part for another year. I even lost 25 in credit I had but oh well Im done for now.

Reply ButtonReply

Misti

There is not one single item I have seen that I am excited about. I’m really bummed. I feel like the add ons have more appeal than what is actually in the box. You could get 7-10 random add ons thrown in a box and it would be better than what is in this box.

Reply ButtonReply

Jean

I agree this is looking just OK, nothing amazing. I am looking forward to the candle. I love nice candles. Not sure it justifies the cost of the whole box, but at least there’s nothing that’s going immediately to the donation bin.

Reply ButtonReply

Marilyn

Well, perhaps I’m unique. Since I subscribed (annual) I haven’t been excited about much of anything in the boxes. But later when we reflect back on the boxes (and Liz asks what subscription items we like/use the most) I realize I use so many of the items and I’m really getting my money’s worth. My first thought on the the eye mask – meh. . . but I remember thinking that of the socks in the winter box – and I wear them most nights!
On reflection, I am really pleased with FFF.

Reply ButtonReply

Ann-Marie Zender

So far not impressed with the Spring box. And seriously, enough with the “Vegan Leather”! It is plastic, just say it is plastic. It’s a plastic clutch and a plastic eye mask. Not excited for the eye mask. That seems to have sweat written all over it. The clutch is okay.

Reply ButtonReply

Cynthia Beaumont

With all these photo’s it very deceiving what we are getting.

Reply ButtonReply

carrie a vessels

I feel sad but I just cancelled. After watching the unboxing I just felt a bit underwhelmed. I don’t hate anything in the box unlike a lot of other people but it’s just not worth it to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer Palumbo

I’m disappointed not to see some type of scarf yet. I hope the lack of one isn’t due to the few whiners complaining about them.

Reply ButtonReply

amyr

I like this box. I am sick of scarves. This is a good box IMO

Reply ButtonReply

amyr

Not everybody wants a piece of cloth in their boxes every season. Some don”t wear scarves. It is unfair to call those people whiners.

Reply ButtonReply

Mandy

The inclusion of another of their cheap- o scarves is not a welcome addition for many of us. People weren’t very happy about the last few sub boxes have had.

Maybe someone needs to go to Target, or a shop in the mall and pick out their own scarf for their own tastes, wardrobe choices, and preferences?
Sub boxes are so random, I’ve never counted on a single one to ” supply” me with a product I’ve wanted or needed. To do is is to ” predict” what’s going to be in any given box. Impossible to do. Also, almost every sub box scarf I’ve gotten is ugly.

redhed36

It may be that a lot of people don’t wear scarfs in the spring.

Reply ButtonReply

Michele

uggh no. This is awful. For 40 dollars, they could have partnered with GingerChi and they have a jade mask that is used for depuffing (as it is naturally cooling) and you can flip it upside down to use on your chin and jaw line. It is breathable too, as there are gaps – the stones are hand strung to make the mask. It isn’t meant to be worn over night, as it just sits on your face

instead a PLASTIC mask (let’s not mince words here, that is what it is, that is not breathable – my skin is going to sweat under that all night long. Sorry, major fail here. Besides, it is damn ugly too.

Why not get a nice silk mask instead?

Reply ButtonReply

Becca S

Vegetarian subscribers wouldn’t want silk. Maybe synthetic silk? But that wouldn’t keep out light, would it?

Reply ButtonReply

michele

yes, it would. I have a ton of eye masks, made from different materials. This plastic (vegan leather is plastic) will cause a sweat storm on your skin. it isn’t breathable.

Lin

And were not paying $40 for this, were paying like $4, so i cant feel too bad

Reply ButtonReply

michele

4.00 for a product that is useless and ugly to me is still too much!! I don’t like anything about the eye mask. The design, the oversize (which unless they have it cupping the insides of your eyes, it will let light in) and the material which will cause people to sweat like crazy.

No wonder they put in a cooling insert – which will last a few minutes before it heats up.

amyr

I silk mask probably would not hold those inserts without getting wet. Tired of the world plastic. Some vegan leather is nice and malleable.

Reply ButtonReply

michele

you wouldn’t need cooling inserts if it was made from a breathable material. The reason why they have those is because of the plastic – your skin is going to sweat like crazy if you wear this overnight.

cindy

This looks to me like a hodge podge of mystery box items. Strange “curation” at best.

Reply ButtonReply

TK

The only thing that makes this eye mask great for me is the cooling insert. I get debilitating migraines and use ice packs around my face and eyes so this is nice. My only question is…what kind of insert is it? Is it a liquid, gel, or beads that can be frozen? Some liquids freeze too firm and you can’t conform them around your face and some don’t stay cool for very long. And…IMO, “vegan leather” is way over used. It’s just plastic.

Reply ButtonReply

Shay

I am not excited about any of the spoilers. The add ons are the best part so far.

Reply ButtonReply

Emilia

Another cheap, overpriced, fake leather item. Grouped with the rest of the contents we have a hot mess that looks like a going-out-of-business clearance of a wholesale warehouse.

Reply ButtonReply

Mel

I agree! Been getting FFF since 2014 and this is offically the worst box ever, I’d like to find the full spoilers – do you know where they are? someone said on the forum perhaps? The youtube video has been removed already…. I cannot believe that their buyer team looked at these clutches and actually thought they would be universally appealing

Reply ButtonReply

Angie

Call me crazy but I love my FabFitFun boxes I’ve received and I am loving this one as well! I got everything I wanted from the add on shop which was great 👍🏻 and this new spoiler is so exciting for me bc lately I work 3rd shift and desperately need one and this looks fantastic. I got the body butter, and the lip masks as well. Wasn’t into the tassel earrings tho. But the clutch looks cute and the candle so I’m very excited about this box , and I am never disappointed with them. I can see how others would be upset tho because usually they do have a hero item or something super amazing but I’ve had 2 boxes from them and this will be my 3rd 😍

Reply ButtonReply

Gigi

Kinda sad I cancelled but I didn’t like any of the items. Maybe summer will be better.

Reply ButtonReply

Mandy

There’s one HUGE thing which will help the lip palette be more useful.

A RETRACTABLE LIP BRUSH. Jane Iredale has a gold tone one, and several other companies known for great brushes will have one for purchase separately from another brush.

A ” lip brush” is just going to collect dust, debris, etc., but a retractable covered lip brush is a chic accessory and is very easy to use and keep clean in one’s purse in a makeup bag.

I don’t count the lip palette out at all, simply because it’s blendable, especially with a nice clean retractable lip brush. I’m thinking I’ll be able to come up with shades I can wear, as fair and cool as my tones are.
The same should be true for medium and warm tones, looking at the photo.

Reply ButtonReply

amyr

Thank you for the suggestion! I just bought Jane Iredale retractable lip brush! So excited to use this palette!

Reply ButtonReply

Mandy

YQW, sweetie.
I searched and also found a very lovely IT Cosmetics for Ulta brand at Ulta. It seems to be a bit longer handled and larger than the Jane Iredale one I have, and you are getting. It’s also silver toned, and is shiny vs. matte. Price is comparable ( $20 range).

I have had retractable lip brushes which were like new for a decade or more. I kept them clean, of course. I think they are a great cosmetic tool purchase.

Jess C

Where did my comment go? Other items are murad lotion, a massage roller,a dermalect ridge filler, and a Dove body polish.

Reply ButtonReply

Nancy fried

A massage roller? Yuk. This looks like the worst box yet . Thank goodness for add ons.

Reply ButtonReply

Beth

Seriously bad. This is a terrible box with no real hero item. Thanks for sharing with us

Reply ButtonReply

Melissa

Hi Jess, what is the YouTube name the full spoiler video is under, I cant find it or the video in the forum, thanks for your help!

Reply ButtonReply

Redhed36

I think they took it down

Jess C

Oops. Double posted. My bad!

Reply ButtonReply

Jess C

Full review is on YouTube. The other items are a Murad lotion, a Physique 57 massage roller, a Dermalect ridge filler, and a Dove body polish.

Reply ButtonReply

Michele

on second thought, that might be the winner in the box for me!!

Reply ButtonReply

Michele

Dove? SRLSY? they put in a drugstore item???

Reply ButtonReply

Jess C

It seemed like they were considering it a freebie item. I agree that this box isn’t too exciting.

redhed36

I thought the same thing and it’s not full size. It’s a sample. So apparently this box has nine items and a sample item. They also took the video down. I think people are not going to be happy when they see full spoilers.

Rachel

It’s incredible how many of you have a clear case of subscription box burnout. I used to subscribed to 10-12 boxes at a time and 3 years in, I was so disappointed in EVERYTHING because I had already seen it all and already had 10 of everything in my closet.

Take a year or two off and actually use and enjoy/gift the mountain of subscription box items you have a hoard of in your house, then maybe re-sub to a couple boxes that seem worth it to you. I did, and this is my very first box in 2 years. I’m SUPER excited about it overall. It’s clearly more than worth the $45, and as always, whatever I don’t personally like I can gift.

Best thing I ever did for myself was cure myself of sub box burnout. You all should consider the same because the complaining over every little thing is genuinely concerning and kind of off-putting to read when most of the stuff in this box is pretty cute if not for yourself, then as gifts.

Reply ButtonReply

M

Rachel,
I agree with you. I have been subscribing since late Nov 2017 and obsessively following MSA and the amount of negativity on the comment threads are draining. Especially on woman’s sub boxes: Allure, boxycharm, birchbox, Macy’s, Sephora, FFF, Popsugar etc… I notice people who are new tend to be more excited and appreciative.
Crazy how defensive some people are getting. You are only allowed to have an
opinion if it aligns with their agenda. 😀

Reply ButtonReply

Rachel

Thank you-

I am surprised at how defensive people got but honestly, if you hate every single thing you’re getting and spend all day commenting on how much you hate it all, where has the enjoyment of getting the boxes gone? It just seems like a huge waste of money and expelling negative energy. I was simply making a suggestion that if people are this wildly unhappy that they should consider taking a break from subscriptions for awhile and try to use up and enjoy what they have in their stashes for awhile. I swear the FOMO isn’t as bad as you think it’s going to be! haha 😉

Sub boxes are supposed to be fun surprises and the most important thing is that you get your money’s worth. To me, even if this box isn’t up everyone’s alley (it can’t possibly be perfect for everyone) but it’s more than worth the $45-$50 in my personal opinion. *shrugs*

Emilia

People get “crazy defensive” because they are bashed for having a opinion that doesn’t match your rainbow and lollipops view of this box. It’s not an “agenda”. It’s called an opinion.

Amy

Genuinely concerning? Off putting? I would call self harming behaviors genuinely concerning, gun laws, etc. I would call your response genuinely dramatic and condescending. Enjoy you FFF box and let other people use the forum to share their opinions as well.

Reply ButtonReply

Mandy

If you knew the person’s oh so dramatic history, you’d understand why she replied in such a flowery manner. Hint- there’s a reason ” some” beauty bloggers fail.

Byeee, Felicia.

amyr

Well said!

Reply ButtonReply

Mandy

I likely read your blog… if it was the K beauty blog I’m thinking of.

Here’s the thing: You don’t get to tell anyone how to feel or what to say when we are paying customers just like you.
Also, some of us bought Annual subscriptions and we can’t get out of this box no matter what, or we definitely would.

I like many box items that other people don’t. We are individuals with individual senses of what’s a good box, collectively, and what is random items put into a box.
Likely, many of us who are not that thrilled are still in shock about PSMH ending the monthly box, and may be taking some of that out on this box. I’m not really sure.

Reply ButtonReply

TK

Well said!!! I don’t always LOVE everything but I certainly get back the $40-50 I put into the box. What I don’t love for myself, I gladly give away to family and friends. I have a couple drawers full of sub box items and my family/friends love to come and “shop” my giveaway stash. It’s easy to get carried away with the whole sub box craze. After 3 years, I’ve managed to whittle down from 10+ to about 4-5 and FFF will always be on my keep list. If not for the box, definitely for the add ons!!!

Reply ButtonReply

Daria

So happy I cancelled…no FOMO here. There is nothing in the spoilers (or even the add-ons) that appeals to me – a cheap plastic purse I can get anywhere, tacky necklace and earrings, vegan leather eye mask (say what?!) – to be honest, I’ve really enjoyed my past FFF boxes but I guess I just felt overwhelmed with so much STUFF. And yeah, I think it’s gone downhill, anyway.

Reply ButtonReply

AmyM

OOohhh that cooling insert is going to be great for headaches, sinus pain and puffy eyes. I’m still in the minority but I think this looks like a really good box. I’m excited to receive it and actually put another in my add-on cart. We’ll see if it ultimately makes the cut…

Reply ButtonReply
