SnackSack Gluten-Free December 2017 Review
SnackSack includes a pamphlet that notes all of the products that are within the box, along with how to find them online. This is always super helpful when navigating your box, but also a great way to find how to purchase more.
Every first-time customer receives a tote (sack), which is meant to hold your snacks. I am always in need of more tote bags because I love to use them to carry snacks or lunches while I am out. Plus, this comes with a cute snowman pin.
GoOrganically Fruit Medley Snacks, 0.8 oz. – Buy a box of 42 0.8 oz. bags for $19.99
My family is a big fun of GoOrganically snacks! They are the perfect on-the-go snack that I can just toss in my diaper bag. Plus, I know that these are all-natural and made with real fruit so I feel confident giving them to my son frequently. We buy them so often that it is always helpful to receive some in a snack box.
Justin’s White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, 1.4 oz. – Retail Value $2.29 (found here for $1.72)
Justin’s peanut butter cups are the best! I had never tried the white chocolate version and boy was I missing out. These are so rich and creamy, but you are getting a healthier nut butter. The perfect snack to curb my sweet tooth without all of the guilt. I wanted to save these both for myself, but I gave my son a small taste and he ended up eating the rest all on his own! A great healthy sweet snack for young and old.
KetoWatt Original Ketogenic Bar, 1.65 oz. – Buy a box of 12 bars for $29.99
This bar was really unique because it was filled with an oil-like chocolate, I wasn’t expecting it at all! It was extra filling and is meant to fill you with long-lasting energy so you can use this as a mid-afternoon or morning snack or even as a meal replacement in a pinch I would imagine. The texture was very nutty with lots of crunch and a bitter sweetness. This particular bar is made with almonds, coconut, and MCT oil, and more. A very interesting bar that is great for a keto diet!
Lovely Candy Co. Pumpkin Spice Caramels, 2 oz. – Buy a 6 oz. bag for $4.99
These caramels are everything! Each little bite is a rich creamy caramel that is so sweet. Then, you get the hints of pumpkin and spice that is like a sweet pumpkin pie. The brand is certified non-GMO, gluten-free, no HFCS, and soy free. I could eat these all day!
LUNA bars are great because they are filling and provide you with energy. Plus, they are gluten-free! These mini bars are great to throw in your bag and to eat as a snack. They help me when I want something sweet. I had never tried the lemon zest flavor but was pleasantly surprised by how yummy they were. I normally am not a big lemon fan, but these were sweet and tart with a lovely softness that makes it almost like you are eating a cookie!
Nothing But The Fruit Concord Grape Fruit Bites, 1 oz. – Buy a box of 8 1 oz. bags for $23.99
I have had these bites before, but was very excited to share these with my son. They are made with 100% real fruit, a great plant powered snack. Unlike other fruit snacks, these have a seed like texture to them and no artificial flavors of any kind. Just a sweet juice flavor like you are eating an actual grape. The good news is that my son was obsessed with them! I am going to be purchasing more knowing how much he liked this natural version of fruit snacks.
Mmmmm, Popchips are my favorite, and you can’t go wrong with the aged white cheddar flavor! Each bite is covered in the yummy cheese coating and has an airy crunch that I just can’t get enough of. Plus, this little bag is Star Wars themed for the latest movie. This would be a great snack to enjoy while watching the movie in place of movie theatre popcorn!
Red Plate Foods Cinnamon Granola Snack Pack, 1 oz. – Buy a 24 count box for $29.99
Red Plate Foods makes nut free, vegan, gluten free, soy free, and GMO-free granola. The best part is that this did not taste like I was eating something healthy. I love granola, but I usually buy the unhealthy mix from Costco that is basically like eating a box of candy. This granola was sweet, crunchy, and healthy everything I could want. I ate this straight out of the bag, but I could see this being great topped in yogurt for a yummy morning snack. The cinnamon added a delicious spice to this sweet treat that I thought made this the perfect granola!
SimpleSense Superfood Bites, 1.5 oz. – Retail Value $3.50
I really wanted to like these bites because of the obvious benefits of this sweet treat. Unfortunately, I am still not a coconut fan and just couldn’t get over the thick coating on the outside of each bite. These are made with coconut, dates, almonds, cashew butter, chia seeds, lucuma, maca, and vanilla. After a little research, I learned that lucuma and maca are what make these bites a superfood snack! I loved the overall nuttiness in each bite and the cashew butter made each bite extra creamy. Since I don’t love coconuts, I decided to share these with my Mom who couldn’t stop raving about how delicious and filling each bite was!
SmashPack Mixed Berry Fruit & Protein Pack, 5 oz. – Buy a 6 pack for $17.99
I really wanted to like this, but I couldn’t get over drinking from this squeeze pouch. The smoothie is extra thick with a tartness from the mixed berry blend. This is a great on-the-go snack or even something to enjoy after working out. It is filled with 14 grams of whey protein, gluten free, and soy free. I really did love the smoothie and how naturally sweet it was from all of the real fruit. I just couldn’t get over the texture that the smoothie came out in from the pouch. My husband, however, loved it and said it was a great filling breakfast for him to enjoy on his commute to work!
That’s It Apple + Cinnamon Zesty Fruit Bar, 1.2 oz. – Buy a box of 12 for $18.99
I love bars like this because they are delicious and easy to eat on the go! I am a busy Mom and sometimes need something that I can just quickly grab or even eat in the car on our way to our next outing. This all-natural bar was filling and super sweet from the dried apples. It is filled with vitamins and fiber, great to eat as an afternoon pick-me-up. I loved the cinnamon zest that provided a spiciness that paired so well with the apple. The grains made it like I was eating a healthy apple pie!
That’s It Dark Chocolate Apple + Coconut Truffles, 1.83 oz. – Buy a box of 6 for $13.99
Another coconut snack that I really wanted to like because who doesn’t love a truffle?! Outside is a thick coating of delicious dark chocolate that has a bittersweetness that was so delicious. Inside is a thick filling of apple and coconut. The apple gave a lovely tartness that paired really well with the dark chocolate. I just couldn’t get over the coconut flavor which was very fresh and overpowering. So if you like coconut this is the healthy truffle snack for you!
Verdict: SnackSack is such a great way to learn about healthy brands that are making delicious snacks! I know that I can share each of these snacks with my family and feel good that I am providing them with healthier snacking options. I have learned about many different brands that I am buying from now, and I found a lot of snacks this month that I am going to purchase more of as well. That is what is so great about SnackSack, the curation is perfect and they really feature brands that you might not know about or see at your local grocery store.
