Scentbird is a perfume subscription where you choose one fragrance per month. They offer a variety of authentic designer scents and allow you to narrow down by either traditional categories for notes (e.g., floral, woody, spicy, etc.) or more general descriptive terms (e.g., mysterious, classic, flirty). Subscribers also receive a monthly discount code that can be used on full-size bottles of perfume or cologne from the Scentbird shop.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Scentbird for Women December 2017 Review
This month, I received Scentbird's “Scent of the Month.” I have sampled this one before, though it has been awhile. You can either opt for the scent of the month or you can fill a queue with fragrances of your choosing:
There was what is basically an advertising flyer for this month’s scent, Euphoria by Calvin Klein.
There was also a card advertising next month’s “Scent of the Month,” Cannabis by Malin + Goetz.
The fragrance came protected in this cardboard tube, which also has instructions printed on it for how to remove and replace the fragrance in your fragrance holder (received with the first shipment and occasionally thereafter).
Euphoria by Calvin Klein – Estimated Value $7.52 (buy 3.4 fl oz for $94)
This has notes of pomegranate, orchid, mahogany, amber, musk, violet, and lotus. I am not always a fan of fruity, floral fragrances, but I think something about the amber and musk (especially the musk, which smells especially strong on me) and maybe a little bit about the mahogany, too, is making this work for me. It makes the floral a bit warmer and cleaner if that makes sense, and less overtly floral. (The inclusion of somewhat unusual flower scents may also be helping.) This has average longevity and sillage for a designer fragrance.
Verdict: My fragrance this month didn’t quite meet the price point of the subscription, but if you are interested in getting the best value, you can fill your queue with expensive scents. This is more of a discovery service, in my opinion. You can use the Scentbird tools to find fragrances that you think will match your preferences, and there is also some value in being able to sample fragrances that are maybe a little older and thus not appearing in subscription boxes, GWPs, etc. When I take the scent of the month with Scentbird, I usually find that I am pleasantly surprised and that I can find things to like about a lot of different scents that I wouldn’t normally have considered due to the descriptions.
