Now, let’s see what each day has in store for us!
Day 1: Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream, 15ml – Estimated Value $38.40
Wow, we’re starting this box off with a luxurious product. The price of the full-size is $128 which is more than I have paid for moisturizer ever, but I’m more than happy to try it. It feels lovely on my face and makes a great foundation for makeup. The smell is pleasant too but a little strong if you are adverse to perfumy scents near your eyes. I will certainly enjoy this little tube of luxury while it lasts though.
Day 2: Nest Fragrances Citrine Eau De Parfum, 6ml – Estimated Value $20.25
I really appreciate roller ball fragrances for the ease of throwing them in my purse or desk drawer. This is such a great size and smells aaahhmazing. With notes of “Lemon Blossom, Lotus Flower, Freesia, Dew Drop Accord, and Precious Woods,” this smells pleasant without being alcohol-y (does that make sense?) like some fragrances.
Day 3: L’Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream, 30ml – Retail Value $12
This hand cream is formulated with 20% shea butter so it is rich and thick. It is perfect for moisturizing chapped hands in chilly weather. It smells so powdery and soft!
Day 4: LXMI Pure Nilotica Melt, 15g – Retail Value $24
This is a creamy balm-to-oil formula that melts into your skin when applied. You can use it as you would any skin oil to moisturize and nourish. It has a slightly nutty scent but it is very subtle. Also great as an overnight mask.
Day 5: It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream, 7ml – Estimated Value $5.60
I have recently tried and fallen in love with It Cosmetics CC Cream and I think I love this too! It’s a “Transforming Moisturizing Super Cream” the not only moisturizes but also gives skin a better, smoother appearance overall. I notice a big difference in how my makeup looks when my skin is properly moisturized and prepped and this cream makes a great prep step.
Day 6: StriVectin TL Advanced Light Tightening Neck Cream, 7ml – Estimated Value $13.30
This lightweight, silky cream is formulated to help tighten sagging skin on the neck. I don’t have many issues with my neck right now (crossing my fingers that that continues to be the case) but it never hurts to start a preventative routine. I love the feel and, while I probably wouldn’t buy a dedicated neck cream, I’ll enjoy using this sample.
Day 7: Pinrose Petals in Pillowtalk and Pinrose, 2 Petal Packs – Estimated Value $2.40
These little fragrance samples are the travel-friendly packaging for Pinrose fragrances. Each packet has a small piece of cloth that has just enough product for one application. Pinrose is a blend of rose and leather and Pillowtalk is a combo of powder and musk. You can buy a pack of petals in each of the fragrances the company carries which is a great way to test out each and see which suits you best.
Day 8: Stowaway Cosmetics Effortless Eyeliner, Jet, Full Size – Retail Value $12
Stowaway is known for its tiny makeup products and this little automatic liner is just that. The shade Jet is a matte black that smudges well and lasts all day. You can see it swatched below with day 18.
Day 9: Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid, 30ml – Estimated Value $9
Let me tell you, my life changed when I started using an AHA exfoliant on a daily basis (per Paula’s Choice recommendations) so I am excited to see this included. This BHA liquid is Salicylic Acid-based and perfect for unclogging pores and evening out skin tone. You apply it with a cotton pad and leave it on and within days you will notice a difference in your skin. Make sure you use a good SPF product if you will be outside because it makes you more sensitive to the sun. Also, all of Paula’s Choice products are fragrance-free!
Day 10: AmazingCosmetics AmazingConcealer, Medium Beige, 3ml – Estimated Value $14
I’ll admit that I’m not a huge concealer user. But, there are times that require it (looking at you, tired eyes). I tend to get really red and my veins show right through my skin when I don’t get enough sleep and this magic fluid hides all of it. With only the tiniest bit, I get full coverage around my eyes without it settling into dry lines. I actually like the small tube too since I won’t go through it very quickly.
Day 11: Algenist Power Advanced Wrinkle Fighter 360º Eye Serum, 5ml – Estimated Value $28
The packaging for this little bottle of eye serum is impressive (a sturdy pump) as is the value. It does promise major results. The milky, silky serum should be applied twice a day to smooth deep wrinkles and tighten baggy skin around the eyes. I love the way it feels and I am hopeful that all of the positive reviews about major improvements prove to be true.
Day 12: Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask, 30ml – Estimated Value $10.40
A step above an aloe aftersun gel, this cooling mask is perfect for calming skin after sun exposure. It’s also great for soothing dry, chapped skin in the dryer months. After leaving it on for 10 minutes, my skin looks and feels refreshed. I also hear it can be used overnight cream as an overnight mask…I’ll be trying that soon.
Day 13: Kopari Coconut Mini Melt, 2fl oz – Estimated Value $14.40
This is a small jar of 100% organic, unrefined coconut oil. It is the “holy grail” of coconut oil and can be used for essentially anything, from a moisturizer to under eye treatment to hair oil.
Day 14: Obliphica Professional’s Seaberry Hair Mask, .68 oz – Estimated Value $3.04
This hair mask is meant for fine to medium hair. You apply after shampooing and let it sit for 2-5 minutes. I don’t think it is quite moisturizing enough for my dry hair but it does smell amazing.
Day 15: Julep Charcoal Konjac Sponge – Retail Value $12
This 100% natural facial cleansing sponge can be used with or without cleanser. It has exfoliating konjac root and detoxifying bamboo charcoal powder to reveal brighter skin. I love using a facial sponge to massage in and remove my cleansers and have been wanting to try a konjac sponge, so yay! I like that it includes a suction cup in the package so it is easy to hang on my bathroom mirror to dry. Looks like it should last a month or two with proper care.
Day 16: SkinFix Flavor Free Lip Repair Balm, 10g – Retail Value $4.99
A flavor free lip balm in squeeze tube packaging (no finger dipping in jars). Yes! I’m really excited for this brand to be included because I have wanted to try it for some time. It feels smooth and light on my lips while packing a moisturizing punch. And, since it isn’t glossy, my husband has promptly stolen it.
Day 17: Clark’s Botanicals Age-Defying Radiance Cream – Estimated Value $16.66?
The consistency of this cream is like a gel-mousse and a little goes a long way. My skin seems to drink it up and feels super smooth after applying. It has a light floral scent.
Day 18: Mally Shadow Stick Extra, Chocolate Diamond – Retail Value $25
This eyeshadow stick can double as an eyeshadow or as a smudgy liner. The shade is a dark bronze with a hint of shimmer. You have 45 seconds to smudge it however you want then it stays in place all day.
Here is the Mally shadow stick blended on my lid and then concentrated at my lash line. I then lined my upper lash line and lower water line with the Stowaway liner (from day 8). I also have these on in my lip swatch photos.
Day 19: Doll 10 Nude Lip Gloss, Buff, Full-size – Retail Value $14
So glossy, so shimmery, so pretty! And with no tackiness at all. This gloss is perfect for a glam nude look on its own or as a shimmery wash over lipstick. A faint scent of vanilla makes this an all-around fantastic lip gloss.
It does a great job of enhancing my natural lip color and is moisturizing.
Day 20: Farmacy Sleep Tight Firming Night Balm, 4g – Estimated Value $3.95
The texture of this balm is more like an oil once you rub your fingers on it. It has a light echinacea scent and helps to maintain moisture in the area of thin skin around your eyes. While it does remain a little oily all night, I like how my skin feels plump and smooth when I wake up.
Day 21: First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, 1oz – Estimated Value $6
This cream is meant to soothe and heal inflamed skin. It is super rich and has a slight eucalyptus scent. It works to keep my skin from drying out overnight in this chilly weather.
Day 22: Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipsticks, Barely There, 2.04g – Estimated Value $10?
So this is a mini of one end of a dual-ended lipstick. The shade is a slightly metallic, but not glittery, cool-toned rose. I like the satin finish. My lips never dry out and the wear time is good for a lipstick.
Maybe one of my favorite shades of lipstick ever…
Day 23: NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balm, Pulse – Retail Value $24
Another easy-to-wear lip product included! This one doubles as a lip and cheek balm. The finish on this balm is glossy and moisturizing with no sticky feel. The shade is a plum nude and I love it!
I was worried I would have glossy cheeks AND lips but luckily this balm is magic and only makes lips glossy. The color is perfect for both though.
Day 24: Philosophy Purity One-step Facial Cleanser, 60ml – Estimated Value $6
This cult cleanser is a makeup remover, cleanser, and toner in one. It isn’t my favorite cleanser but it does leave my skin feeling comfortable. I’m glad to have gotten a travel size to try.
Here are all of the makeup products swatched together. From top to bottom: day 8 eyeliner, day 10 concealer, day 18 eyeshadow, day 19 lip gloss, day 22 lipstick, day 23 lip + cheek balm.
Verdict: This advent calendar is amazing. I love that QVC included beloved products and many that are good for a range of skin types and tones. I have looked at trying many of these brands for a while. Plus, the packaging is beautiful. I can’t blame you if you ordered it as a gift and want to keep it for yourself. The value of this box is $329.39 which is great for a cost of $63.96 + $3 shipping. Even if you don’t like all of the items, I think this is still a great value. Plus, you can always repurpose as stocking stuffers. Note: many of these samples come sealed with foil, so they could work for swaps too!
