I’m starting to wonder if we just won’t be getting full box spoilers this month :/

I guess we’re not? But, you’d think they’d announce that somewhere. And, I guess they’re just not going to ship them on the typical schedule either? Like the commenter below me, I’m now annoyed I probably won’t get my box before I travel home for the holidays even though I usually get it on the 13th or the 14th every month. I know it’s a $10 beauty box, but I find it stressful that they can’t be consistent.

Danielle
Hey, at least they did just put the video up!
Annika
I agree 🙁 I don’t think I’ll get my box before I leave for the holidays, but I at least want to know what is in it!

Whatever it is, that stick looks extremely similar to the Laura Mercier stick I got in my November 2016 Play! box last year.

The Laura Mercier one has a diffrent look not like this one it has a Rihanna fenty look but idt its rhiannas makeup ill be stund

CM
This doesn’t look like Fenty at all. The packaging for her’s is that light tan…
Kiri
Fairly certain it’s Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Blossom. The Trestique, Bobbi Brown, and Nars sticks look like they’re a different texture on the Sephora site and the last 2 appear to have chunkier shimmer pieces.

Sinda
I think the 3rd item could be the Trestique Venetian Gold Eyeshadow or Maldives Luminescent highlighter but more likely the eyeshadow since some received the highlighter earlier this year.

Only issue I have is these were free minis over the summer with purchase. So to me it just feels recycled.

Danielle
Really hope that I do not get the Smashbox eyeshadow duo, I already have two of those. Nice colors but I don’t need a third. I received the first two as GWP’s… I really wish Sephora would stop recycling $25 / $35 GWP’s in the play box. I wish that the play box offerings would be exclusive to the box and not offered as GWP’s or Beauty Bazaar point perks. It’s really making me reconsider my subscription.

Looks like LAURA MERCIER, J’adore Le Soleil Sunrise Highlighter Crayon to me!

Trestique shadow stick maybe?

Is it me or is it taking forever to see box variations?? Impatiently waiting 😉 Like everyone else who gets the box I reallyyyyy don’t want another black liner!

I’m so surprised they’re still not out and it’s already the 12th! They’re gonna ship soon.

Me three! I’m 601.. .Come on spoilers!

My 2 most used items are black eye liner and highlighter, so I am thrilled to see them! I cancelled ipsy because they only sent me metallic and colored liners I would never use!! Sephora boxes seem to have more everyday use, adult makeup.

Fair;)
Colour and sparkle loving adult here- I think color and glittery/shimmering liners are much more fun to get in a subscription than black liners. I’d rather try new, different and bold than same old same old. If I get one more sample of nude mauve brown lip product from a subscription box? I could open a dang store for the entire lot.

If any of you want to donate any of your unused samples I’d gladly pay for shipping. I volunteer at the local domestic abuse shelter and the women there would be thrilled to have them since they have nothing. If you’re interested I’d pay for shipping M_Bross is my Twitter handle.

I would love to get colored liners ♥

Remember when they were a great place to shop with great customer service and great Play boxes? I wonder who they hired to sabotage their brand. They have crashed and burned this year.

Very interesting story behind your question, actually. Sephora is owned by LVMH. The principal owner of LVMH is either engaged or already married to a famous designer who has recently gotten a huge push in the cosmetics sales arena.
Check it out. I think it explains so much. 🙂

Agreed! I don’t need another black eyeliner. I have a collection…same goes for highlighters. How many does a girl need?

Really ladies! Eyeliner and eyeshadows do not have a very long shelf life! Stop complaining! Look on the back of your makeup and there is a tiny “jar” with a number on it. That stands for how many months that product is good for. My Kat Von D Saint and sinner eye shadow palette I just purchased- has a shelf life of 9 months! Yep! 50$+ for 9 months! Go ahead, start checking out your repeats! They might be doing this because of the small shelf life and do not want you to get sick, or the product you LOVE to go to junk.
You now are going to be super smart shoppers and impress your friends too!🤗🦄💖

Christine
I never would throw an eyeshadow palette away after nine months. That’s a gimmick to keep you buying.
Reply
CM
I think it depends on the usage. After 9 months of almost daily brushes or fingers in a product, whether or not there’s some left, I might buy new. Even if my hands/brushes are clean there are bound to be hand/face oils that I don’t really want to keep smearing on my face after awhile. But to each his own.
TLM
FYI – that’s the shelf life once it’s been opened. But I agree on stopping the complaining. It’s a subscription box and there is a lot more worth of product than the $10/month we spend!

Vonda in Wonderland
I don’t know a makeup artist on the planet that would toss their Kat Von D pallete after 9 month’s, I guarantee that they will be around for many years if the brushes are property cleaned. Makeup companies put dates on them to make more money ♥

I’m thinking that since this month’s box is all about the ‘eyes’, that this might be the BOBBI BROWN Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow Stick (maybe in Truffle or Vanilla): http://bbrwn.co/2BOBB8z
And yes, we will be getting either the Liquid Eyeliner OR the Smashbox Shadows…I’m hoping for that cute little shadow kit (great for my bag)!

Molly
While I would love it if it were the Bobbi Brown eyeshadow, I don’t think it is. Look at the way the plastic tapers inward in the photo above, and then on Bobbi Brown’s website the plastic stays pretty straight and doesn’t taper. That doesn’t mean that the trial size won’t do that, but my guess is that the packaging is different enough that it’s a different product.

It’s the Laura Mercier shadow stick that they were doing a few months ago as a promo if you spent $35.
Trisha
Oh geeze, I already have that Smashbox shadow and about 4 different taupe cream eyeshadow sticks…Bobby Brown, LM that Tres brand and some other brand. Not my favorite shade either.
Black eyeliners I’m always ok with, but dang- maybe time to cancel. Disappointed…

I had gotten that Smashbox eye shadow already in a Beauty box. I think Macy’s . The colors are beautiful & bendable. I like Smashbox.

ANOTHER black liquid liner? I could almost fill the box back up with all the black liquid liners they’ve sent out this year.
Reply
Allison
I think it’s either the Laura Mercier or Bobbi Brown, which I’ve received two of LM and one of BB from them already.

I agree. I keep getting the same products in 3 different boxes within 2-3 months. I received those two highlighters and yet another black liquid eyeliner? I also get so many mascaras! I am starting to gather all of my untouched items and putting an assortment of them into different boxes for little holiday gifts.

There isn’t one item here that I’ll use. Bummer. I’m a skincare junkie and am disappointed that these are all makeup items. Getting skincare samples let’s you try expensive products to see which ones are worth investing in.
Reply
Cosette K
I am bummed about the lack of skincare products, too. I look forward to pricey items to try and actually see some results before I would buy. It seems all 3 of the boxes I get, none of them have any serums, creams, masks or eyecreams this month. I am totally out of eyecream. I have been using rose oil and Shea butter instead.

Have u tried beautyfix it’s almost all skin care it’s a great sub bo
RAR24
Can I give you a little known fact? All their products in store are supposed to be available for you to take home in a trial vial – even the most expensive brands. You don’t need Play. You just ask for a sample to take home.

I just realized that you’re either getting the Smashbox Golden Hour eye shadow OR the Clinique liner. I believe the shadow has the two shades Turned On and Psyched. The shades look great…I hope I receive the shadow. I heard good things about the liner though.

Anna
Oh no! I hope I get the liner. I must be the only MSA reader who has ZERO liquid eyeliners and only three pencil lol.

Nope Im right here with ya! No liquids for me either. I hope I get the liquid!! 🙂
Shasta
Me, too!! Lol nearly 2 years of subscribing and I’ve never received liquid eyeliner. Just a few pencils.
