Farm Momma November 2017 Review
The vibe of this box gives me so much pleasure. Farm Momma, Jess, prides herself on supporting small businesses with the items she chooses and takes great care in how she packages each item. The information card lists the vendors and artisans included in the box, but no retail values or further information.
Brave Season Design Joy Sign – Retail Value $8.00
This painted sign is made on stained cedar wood using acrylic paint. It has a rustic feel, but the elegant lettering fancies it up. I think it goes well with my eclectic décor and I like that it’s a generic enough word that it could certainly be displayed year-round.
Dandelion Wishes Candle Co. Woodwork and Plaid Candle – Retail Value $10.00
I love the scent of this Woodwork & Plaid candle. It has a masculine, fir tree smell that is giving my family all the holiday feels! It was packaged in a cardboard box with holiday washi tape and bits of black and red buffalo check plaid fabric scraps tucked around the glass jar. Adorable!
Embroidery Hoop – Estimated Value $10.00?
This hoop has a rustic country feel with red and beige chevron stripes and a thin simple Christmas strip with a frayed edge.
Heart of the Farm Recipe Cards – Estimated Value $12.00?
It doesn’t appear that this design of recipe cards is available any longer. However, they do have a similar set for sale for $12.00 so I’m guessing these were priced similarly. I might be one of the few people who still love using a recipe box, in addition to online recipe sites, so I will definitely put these 12 cards to good use.
Hen House Designs Chicken Ornament – Retail Value $6.00
This adorable red chicken ornament is painted wood. It’s thin and light and hangs simply with a jute twine loop. I like the word “joy” that echoes the same sentiment as the rustic painted sign included this month.
Packing Materials – Bonus
Nestled among the packing paper were some small red ornaments, rusty jingle bells, and a small tree. These just added to the fun of unboxing this beautiful holiday-themed box.
Verdict: Farm Momma was packaged beautifully again and I loved everything they sent this month. This month it came to around $46 (with my estimations) which is well above the $31.49 monthly cost (incluing free shipping to the US). My favorite part of this box is seeing the beautiful handmade items from natural materials. I discover new Etsy artisans each month that I would never know about otherwise. If farmhouse décor is your style I definitely recommend this box.

i enjoyed the first 2-3 boxes i received from farmmomma; however, i feel that the contents have become less and less worth what we pay for it. and the January box was really very ‘light’ on items. A single tea light, a bath bomb, a plain white fingertip towel and a bar of handmade soap. i’m probably going to stop the subscription and try something else. $31+ for this is a bit much, for things i can just go and buy. Cute packaging, but just too light on content.
I agree i was super disappointed. I could have purchased items locally and recieved more. I support local but the value isnt there
So happy to see a Christmas Box! I will keep this box in mind for the future.
Not everyone celebrates Christmas and I hope they let subscribers know re the theme prior. As a Jewish person, I would have been disappointed.
I think ‘ingredients’ on the recipe card is spelled incorrectly?
Good catch – I didn’t notice that!
That really annoys the spelling/grammar geek in me. I know that it’s all small-business handmade goods, but for $12, a set of recipe cards should at least be spelled correctly!
My mom has chickens and I wish I had that ornament to give to her!
The upcoming December box is a chicken Christmas theme according to the Farm Momma Instagram page. Maybe you should order a box for her! 🐓
