Tutu Royal Purrrrfect Princess October 2017 Booklet

The information card told the theme this month: Purrrrfect Princess. It explained the STEM princess characteristic of the month: Ambition. It also listed each item in the box and had a brief piece of literature about hematologists and focused on the career of Dr. Rachelle Nuss a pediatric specialist in blood disorders.

Characteristic Card

This month’s characteristic card is about ambition. This card encourages your princess to reflect on when they tried new things and felt strong.

Tutu Royal Purrrrfect Princess October 2017 Dress

True Blue Princess Dress – Retail Value $25.00?

The dresses that Tutu Royal sends are beautiful and have many details that make them feel luxe. This month’s dress had ruffles on the shoulders, a bow at the waist and royal blue, teal and gold shimmer stripes. This one is so special we’ve decided not to use as a dress up dress for playtime but to hold onto to it for the holidays!

Tutu Royal Purrrrfect Princess October 2017 Headband2

Cat Headband – Retail Value $7.00?

The headband this month had sparkly blue cat ears, a big crystal, and light blue tulle.

A Drop of Blood (Let’s Read and Find Out Science 2) By Paul Showers – Retail Value $5.99

Each month Tutu Royal sends a nonfiction book that matches the theme of the box. This month since the theme is “Purrrrfect Princess” so it would have made more sense to me if the book was about cats. But since the literature on the information card was about hematologists they choose a book about blood. My three-year-old daughter wasn’t interested in this book (yet) because it’s pretty detailed, factual and geared for older kids. However it’s interesting and well-written and will be great to have in our home library for when she’s a little older.

Tutu Royal Purrrrfect Princess October 2017 Cookie

Kookies by Keirsten Tiara Cookie – Retail Value $4.00?

This frosted lemon cookie was delicious! Tutu Royal had it double packaged in a sealed bag and bubble wrap to protect it in transit. We love that Tutu Royal sends a yummy edible treat each month.

Verdict: My daughter adores the Tutu Royal box and I was happy to see how much was included for the $30 (plus shipping) price point. I am estimating the value of the box to be around $42 which I’m very happy with. I like the idea that this box is mixing princess dress-up fun with an emphasis on education, STEM and confidence boosting literature as well. I also appreciate that with each subscription purchased Tutu Royal donates a subscription to an adoption agency.

Jessica’s addiction started off slowly enough with Birchbox, but it has grown and grown over the last three years. An elementary school librarian and mom of two she loves boxes that are child-centric. But she’ll never turn down a good fashion, beauty or tasty treat subscription.

  1. That dress is so beautifully and so is your little cutie. That could be worn to an actual function couldn’t it?

    • Thanks!! Yes we are setting this aside for the holidays. It’s so nice I don’t want to let her use it just for play!
