Olia Box Jewelry Subscription Review – October 2017
Olia Box is a jewelry styling box that sends you 2-3 pieces that complement your style each month. Subscribers fill out a questionnaire when they sign up to let your stylist know what tones of metals you wear, what necklace style you prefer, and any other comments you might want to tell them (like pierced ears or ring size).
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Subscription Box: Olia Box
The Cost: $34.99 monthly + free shipping
The Products: 2-3 pieces of jewelry
Ships to: U.S. (free shipping) and international (shipping fees apply)
Keep Track of Your Subscriptions: Add this box to your subscription list or wishlist!
Included is a card explaining some basic jewelry care tips to maintain your new jewelry. They talk about taking care of your jewelry to get a season’s wear out of it. I don’t know about you, but I plan on getting more wear out of my jewelry than that!
When you sign up, you’ll get to answer these questions:
- Which metal tone(s) do you wear? (Gold Only, Silver Only, Mix Gold & Silver, or Surprise Me)
- Which necklace style(s) do you prefer? (Everything Dainty, Bold & Chunky, Long Pendants, or Surprise Me)
I chose Surprise Me for each of these. You can change your preferences anytime by sending customer service an email.
There is also a comment box that you can add any additional info you want them to know. I added that I have multiple piercings in each ear.
Now let’s see what was picked for me!
Silver Tassel Bracelet – Retail Value $14.99?
This is my first silver-tone piece from Olia Box and it is so cute! It is a shiny metal curved bar with silver thread. The tassels at the ends are a trendy touch. The bead allows you to slide the thread through to adjust the fit and to easily get it on and off. The quality is similar to what you would find at Target’s trendy jewelry section (which is not a bad thing).
The tassels bring a little fun to this super simple bracelet.
How dainty and perfect for every day is this?! It is so light that I can hardly tell I’m wearing it. I know I have a few other bracelets that would look great stacked with this too.
Gold Textured Slip Through Earrings – Retail Value $7.99?
These slip through earrings have a lovely subtle hammered finish. They are essentially weightless and stay put without using backs or having to adjust. The gold tone is really versatile which is great for pairing with any gold necklaces you already have (or with the one included, below). I have been searching for a pair of simple gold earrings that aren’t hoops and these are perfect.
Gold Bar Layered Necklace – Retail Value $19.99?
This layered necklace has two parts: a long chain and a shorter lariat style chain with a solid bar at the end. Both strands are simple but have a pretty texture that makes it a little sparkly. I love it!
The lobster claw clasp is easy to open and it has an extender to adjust the length.
This is feeling like a new go-to piece for me. I love that it looks wonderful with the earrings and that it is so comfortable to wear. It hits at the perfect spot so it doesn’t fall into my shirts too.
Verdict: Olia Box has done it again! I feel like this box just gets me. For $34.99 with free shipping, I got three great pieces of jewelry. There are no brand markings on the jewelry, but compared to prices for similar pieces (at Target.com), I feel like the $42.97 estimated value of this box just exceeds the cost. I like that they took care to make sure the metals compliment each other in the gold tone pieces and that each piece looks great on its own or paired with other complimentary jewelry. They are dainty and versatile and I’ll get plenty of wear out of all of them. If anything hadn’t been my style, I could have reused the box for gifting. Since I choose Surprise Me, I’m hoping next month is a different style.
