It’s been great reading everyone’s comments! Just thought you might all like to know how we arrived at Miss Mailbox for the name… we wanted to keep it “something” Mailbox to correspond with the Mommy Mailbox name. We originally started the box because as moms we found it tough to find ways to treat ourselves and even go shopping without kids—we definitely want to maintain that goal for moms, so changing the box name was not something we were interested in. When trying to come up with the right word we tossed around so many as ideas. Our top choice was actually “Modern Mailbox” because we knew that if we chose Miss/Mrs we’d be leaving some women out. Unfortunately, all the clever words have been taken. We just couldn’t find a good domain name that was available. Given our options, we thought Miss Mailbox had the nicest ring to it, and wouldn’t be as hard to swallow for a married woman without kids than the Mommy Mailbox name. Hope that helps shed some light on our thought process! Thanks for your support, ladies!

??? Now women have to define themselves by whether or not they have kids? How limiting. (Especially since one can be both a “miss” AND a “mommy”, or, as others have pointed out in the comments, it is entirely possible to be NEITHER.)

I really hate the stupid gender politics that lead to boxes with ridiculous names. This reminds me of the “lady boss” and “girl boss” nonsense of Covet Crate.

In my humble opinion, the last box was great -so I really don’t care what it’s called.

I’m an old empty-nester so I’m with Shakespeare – “what’s in a name” …as long as it’s a decent box, fair price and good customer service 🙂

The same box with 2 names because people without kids couldn’t handle a word on their mail? Right… I order the baby boxes from Target even though I don’t have a baby. They have awesome products in it (even if I don’t use every single one of them like diaper rash cream since, again, I don’t have a baby). What a strange problem. I feel bad that they feel the need to do this.

So, if you subscribe to Miss Mailbox, do you need to cancel Mommy Mailbox, or will it automatically cancel?

I guess this new box would be for moms who are no longer “mommies”? My boys are teens and twenties. I didn’t want to get items geared for babies or toddlers. The name of the box doesn’t really matter to me.

I don’t love the name but I’d much rather have Miss Mailbox delivered than Mommy Mailbox being married with no intention of ever having kids!

Elena

Same here 😉

LOL. So, now my mailman will think I’m single instead of a mommy.

I don’t like the new name either. But I really appreciate the effort and attention to customer opinions.

I agree. I really dislike this name too! So either you need to be single or a mom for this box? Maybe a third box for married women without kids…lol

However, I appreciate that they are listening and trying to respond to people’s comments.

Happy they read all the comments. This is great box. The curation I like a lot better then Pop sugar.

This is exactly what I’ve been hoping for! I’ve wanted to subscribe for a long time but I just couldn’t deal with “Mommy Mailbox” arriving at my door! Lol! Yayyyyy!!!

Why not just change the name of the box?? 🤔🤔🤔

Does anyone know how long the coupon is valid? Seems like a good deal, but it’d be nice if I could use it on a subscription starting with the December box as a Christmas gift…

Elena

Sara, coupon is valid for short time only I suppose. But they have fabulous customer service! I’ve already bought one-time November Mommy Mailbox and didn’t want to get double box this month. Kate was so sweet that she moved my subscription to begin next month. I was able to use the code. So go ahead and email to CS. 😉

Sara

Thanks, Elena! I did just that, and they were able to delay the start of the subscription until December – super simple. Agreed, CS seems to be great.

amber

This sounds like they are just changing their name??

They are keeping mommy mailbox too—it’s the same box with 2 names—one for moms, one for women without kids. Everyone has been complaining forever that they wanted to get the box but didn’t have kids and they finally listened!

That’s what I was thinking too. 🙂
