And each month they include a little bonus item like a piece of candy:

Now, for the items I picked this month:

Julep Nail Polish in Townlie - Retail Value $14

This nail polish is described as an "Iced Lilac Metallic," and it is stunning!

Full coverage in one coat, too!

(Swatched in lower photo.)

Julep Nail Polish in Tess - Retail Value $14

This is described as a "Champagne Nude Metallic."

Again, full coverage and gorgeous color with one coat!

Here are both nail polish shades on:

These are my kind of wintry shades!

Julep Triple Quench Deep Hydration Sheet Mask System - Retail Value $24 Total

This mask includes 3 steps: 1. Essence Ampoule Gel 2. Sheet Mask 3. Sleeping Pack

The essence is designed to help the sheet mask better absorb. You apply it to your skin, then remove the mesh on one side of the mask, apply that side of the mask to your face, then remove the remaining mesh on the other side. Let it sit for 15 minutes and you're done. I loved how hydrated and soft this made my skin feel. And the sleeping pack is a rich moisturizer to use as your final step.

This is Julep's first sheet mask, and I'm really impressed. I liked the results, and the 3-step process made it feel extra luxurious! (Plus the packaging is super cute!)

Verdict: I'm happy with all my choices this month! The nail polishes are perfect, and I really enjoyed my sheet mask experience. This box has a retail value of $52, and I think that's a great deal for a $24.99 box you can completely customize.

I highly recommend this subscription if you love nail polish and/or you like having control over your beauty box items! (And I also recommend doing the 3-month subscription at $19.99 a month for better savings!)

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. You have to sign up by the 20th to get the next month's box. Then on the 24th, you'll be able to sign into your Julep Maven account and select the items you want for your box!

Value Breakdown: At $24.99 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Nail Polish: $6.73
  • Nail Polish: $6.73
  • Sheet Masks: $11.53

If I buy a 3 month subscription and skip a month do I get charged again in 3 months or when I have used all of the 3 months of the subscription. For example if I sign up in November but skip December and January. Will I be charged again in February? Also I can’t find anything on the website that explains what they mean by It Girl, Bombshell, Classic with a Twist, etc. How does this relate to the first quiz question when it asks about go-to nail colors, Boldly Boho, Chic & Timeless, Special Effects or Neutral. I like the metallic colors you received this month but one is It Girl and one is Boho Glam. Is the quiz really an important part of the subscription? I am confused.

If you sign up for the 3 month sub – you get three boxes. You can skip as often as you want, but once you use up your three boxes they will charge you once you don’t skip.

So you signed up and get your first box in December, skip January, take February and take March when it comes time for your April selections (the 20th I think) if you don’t skip April they will charge you somewhere around $60 for the next three boxes (unless you notify them you want to go month to month). I hope that makes sense, it’s very easy to skip boxes (just make sure you do it before the cut off which I believe is the 25th).

As for your other questions, the survey and the classifications that Julep has are all irrelevant IMO. You can completely customize your box every month and that’s what I always did. It’s very easy to do and you can essentially pick anything they have for sale, they will begin to limit the selections depending on what you pick.

I hope that helps!

I tried to post a pretty long explanation but it’s still not showing up for whatever reason so I’ll try again (abbreviated version) just in case. You won’t get charged again until you use up you entire sub (all 3 months). And preferences/quiz are not that important – every month you have the opportunity to log in and fully customize your box.

I’m not sure about the classifications of polishes “It Girl,” “Boho Glam,” etc, but I think I can help with your other questions. You get charged again whenever you are done with your 3 months. I signed up for a 6 month sub last December and stretched it until October of this year with skips. My account was due to renew at the end of October but I skipped that month too so they actually still haven’t charged me again. My account just says again this month that my credit card is still due for renewal at the end of the month. I assume if I skip again, it will be delayed again (not sure how long that will continue, though) or if I “accept” this month they will bill for another sub. As far as the preferences – they just use that info to pre-select a curated box for you that month. However, between the 20th and 24th of each month you can log in and FULLY customize your box. And I mean fully. You can choose a different curated box, or create your own box from a lot of different items (polishes, skincare, make-up, tools) they offer – both new that month or from their current stock online. I LOVE this sub because you can really make it a create-your-own box and still get a great discount.

I was also wondering about the rebilling of the subscription. Every 3 months or when you have received 3 boxes, if you skip months? As far as the categories of colors go (the quiz), I think they are trying to determine your style in case you don’t customize your box and they are building it for you. I think I’m going to subscribe to this for 3 months as well. Being able to customize my box is a big part of why I want to subscribe to Julep. I don’t think the quiz matters much if you’re customizing your own box, only if Julep is choosing your selections for you. Is this correct Julep subscribers?

Yes! It’s right!

Oooh! I skipped this month because I wasn’t really feeling the colors, but Townlie is gorgeous! I’m glad that for each new month, you can also usually still get last month’s new items, so I will probably get Townlie next month. This is one reason I love MSA!
