Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service that caters to plus size women between the sizes of 10-32. Gwynnie Bee allows you to select items you like and they are put in a virtual closet. The chosen items sent to you are at random, but you can select priority pieces to be sent to you first. Posie Print Bell Sleeve Wrap Dress in Navy/Coral Print by London Times, Size 22
As soon as I laid eyes on this dress, I had to closet it! This dress is my idea of perfection because of the vintage style print, the bell sleeves, and the gorgeous wrap style! Wrap dresses are incredibly flattering on most body shapes. The stretchy jersey material is the most ideal fabric for this piece due to how it accentuates the body’s curves. This dress can be styled with heels and a beaded necklace for the office or faux fur coat, bold statement necklace, and heeled booties for a night out.
Pull on Legging in Black Waves by Levi’s, Size 24
I can’t remember the last time I wore a pair of Levi’s. For a while, I think I steered away from jeans due to fit issues and wanting to avoid potential fitting room disappointments. The struggle is real for jean shopping when you are a bodacious babe, I tell you. Luckily, jean companies have wised up to the demand of the plus size market and I am glad to see Levi’s offering up some trendy styles in larger sizes. These denim leggings have a perfectly tapered fit in the legs -- which I LOVE! The one thing I have an issue with is that the Levi’s site indicated for my size and weight a 22 is ideal, but the size 24’s I got are a snug fit. The high rise fits perfectly in the front but is significantly lower in the back. I had to be careful bending over in fear my underpants would be exposed in some instances. Hashtag: #robustposteriorproblems. Fortunately, as the day went on, the jeggings’ fit improved. I still hope Levi’s opts to release a higher waist version of these pants. I paired these black skinny jeans with a crushed blue velvet top from Target, leopard loafers, and a faux fur coat for a flashy, yet casual look. These pants are immensely versatile and could be styled with your favorite vintage t-shirt and sneakers or with an on-trend bell sleeved top and booties.
Verdict: Gwynnie Bee remains one of my favorite subscription boxes. I love being able to rent pieces and try trends I would never have considered to otherwise. I constantly suggest Gwynnie Bee to my friends in need of ensembles for special occasions. Why run to the mall and pay top dollar for a dress when you can take up Gwynnie Bee’s first-month free trial? It is a no-brainer! Having a service like this expands your closet and keeps your wallet happy. I can’t endorse Gwynnie Bee enough!
