Just an fyi the Glamglow lip balm is not full size either. Its the mini.

It’s the full size, actually. The colored lip balms aren’t available in any other size and other retailers like Bloomingdales and Nordstrom etc sell the same size balm as full size. I think they call it a mini because it’s smaller than their regular clear balms.

That shade of in-your-face red Glamglow lippie alone makes this box a must-pass for me. I just got a super-bright red lip in this month’s Sephora Play! box and that bummed me out. That’s one color that’s always a disappointment and looks ridiculously harsh/trashy, to be honest, on anyone who’s not a fashion model posing with perfect lighting & full-makeup. Or a 1950’s movie bombshell. I have a collection of the Sunday Riley Serums that I received in Sephora Collection boxes, so that doesn’t tempt me, either. The small NEST candle size is saddening, though the idea of the candle made me happy, ’cause I love candles, but this one’s so small, about the size of a votive? This will be the first-ever Glossybox Holiday box that I am passing on. Some boxes in the past were so fabulous, but so far, BOO-HOO-HOO! I’m going to miss not buying a knock-out Holiday Glossybox this year!-

As I was reading your comment I was immediately triggered by your ‘trashy red lipstick’ notion and wondered if anyone else would be too, glad I’m not alone! I got that same lipstick from the sephora box, and loved it! I think it’s a beautiful shade of red and it looks awesome on me. I’ve always shied away from reds because I thought I couldn’t pull them off, but I love them now.
Not to mention, shouldn’t we all support someone wearing what makes them feel happy and beautiful, not some pre-conceived notion that you can’t wear a certain thing if you look a certain way. If you don’t feel confident in red lipstick, don’t wear it! But you shouldn’t have such a harsh attitude of anyone else wearing what they choose.

Love red lipsticks – classy not trashy!😃

I love red lipstick. I do not look “ridiculously harsh/trashy.”
Reply
JuJu
Yeah, that was an offensive sweeping generalization.
Red lipstick happens to look really nice on me, not even remotely “trashy”.
It just has to be a cool red, not a warm orangey red.
JuJu
Please do not speak for everyone in regards to red lipstick. If it’s not your thing – fair enough, but to claim it looks trashy on *everyone* is going too far.

I’m so disappointed to get a candle in a beauty box! If there wasn’t a candle, I probably would have ordered another box just for the Sunday Riley..
Reply
Michelle
The candle is a $9 item, the Sunday Riley is an $85 item. If you want 2 $85 Sunday Riley items for $80, it would be a sound financial decision to order another box. Also, nest was one of the original spoilers, did you miss that?
Reply
JuJu
Yeah, I was surprised to see so many people excited about it. I don’t care how fancy or expensive it may be – it’s a candle.
Reply
Wendy
I ordered this, but no where on glossy box did they say it is 7 full size items.
Reply
LB
Yep, I went searching this morning, found the screenshot in the forum and responded to a few comments below. When they were advertising the box was going to go on sale they had this in the description: “Tis the season…Our much anticipated Holiday Limited Edition box will be available for sale in only a few days, encasing 7 full-size products worth over $204. Enter your email below to be the first to know when this exclusive box goes on sale!” Now that info is gone and the description is different. MSA obviously copied it from that original post and keeps continuing on in each of these follow up posts, but Glossybox has changed it….
Reply
JuJu
Well, the fault lies with Glossybox, though. It’s their usual false advertising, when they saw people starting to question the sizing, they changed their online description so that they are no longer accountable for that issue specifically.
And in fact now I wonder if the Sunday Riley will really be an ounce – did they state that anywhere outright?
Julie
It did say 7 full size, they changed it. Check the forum, people posted screenshots of what it used to say.
Typical glossybox bait and switch. I still like the box but annoyed by lack of integrity.
Glossybox is calling the candle deluxe size on Instagram… shady.

I’m an active member and had preordered this; then cancelled it when the email link with $5 off was mentioned so I emailed them with questions on that. They relied: We are unfortunate to say the shipping process on your box is why we are unable to cancel your box. Please just send it back unopened. ???
Clearly they didn’t even read my email has my box was already cancelled. Ugh they customer service is nothing short of awful. 😐😕

I just canceled my order. Im not happy with the business practices of this company. I still think is a good deal for those who want to try the Sunday Riley serum.

Same Gloria. At this rate I don’t NEED the Sunday Riley product; but am excited for everyone who is overjoyed to get their box

This is a little random, but does anyone else think its odd how they advertise it as a value of “over $204”? It’s such an odd number. If the value is $204 and change, it would sound better to just say “over $200”.
Reply
Cristina
Probably because the value they calculated is $204 and change, and they wanted to list the highest number possible and still say “more than” because they think it looks better.

I own the original Wet Lip treatment from GlamGlow and it’s $24.. it would of been a better deal to include this one. Instead of the $19 mini version. I mean what kind of savings is that??? The original is .85 OZ while the mini is .25 OZ. SMH

Yup, another item that isn’t a full size. But I should be grateful because the Sunday Riley item is such a good deal 🙄 Nope- they can take their bait and switch, poor customer service boxes and… Well, you know.

Wait, what? Its a mini size.
Argh 😲

I did get this box for a great price, but I truly wish they started with the “less expensive” spoilers first. I really wanted a full-size candle, but semantics aside, a votive is technically full-size. Darn you English language!! Here comes a nail polish, a mascara ,a cleansing oil and hmm, maybe a masque. Please GlossyBox, next time surprise us with something unexpected, like a FULL- SIZE candle.
Reply
Janet
And technically they are not advertising that there are full size products in this limited edition box. It’s still on MSA pages, but not on the glossybox page… Things have definitely changed…

That is interesting. I thought maybe I was going nuts but found on the MSA Forum that someone had the screenshot posted of their pre-sale announcement and it says: “Tis the season…Our much anticipated Holiday Limited Edition box will be available for sale in only a few days, encasing 7 full-size products worth over $204. Enter your email below to be the first to know when this exclusive box goes on sale!” Guess something DID change….
Sheila
Thanks Janet. That really is rather shady. I even checked the product description section and surprise-nothing!

I think the “fuss” (if it can even be called that) over the candle is due to more broken promises from GB than the actual size. Many people loved the grapefruit Nest mini from Birchbox. But that wasn’t advertised as full size. Nothing wrong with a sample candle. What is wrong is deceptive advertising and poor customer service.
I think it’s awesome that some customers are getting a steep discount on this box. Hope it doesn’t get cancelled. (Knock on wood) Hope none of the pieces are missing or arrive damaged. (Fingers crossed) Hope customer service charges the cards correctly and sends the boxes out on time. (Not holding my breath)

I never expected a true “full size” Nest candle in this box…but I did expect a votive (which is “only” $16 RV and therefore practical for a LE box). But then they still managed to find a way to surprise and disappoint me by going with a mini votive I didn’t even realize existed before. Like others have admitted, I’m not sure why I’m even surprised anymore, though. Hope the rest of the box is great and people are happy…

It seems silly to be so fussy about the candle in my opinion. I’ve never tried a “fancy” branded candle like Nest so I’m pretty excited to be getting one, even a small one.
Plus, from what I understand, these candles can be super high in value and I would much rather high dollar items be skincare and makeup. If the Nest candle had been bigger in size, then there’s a good chance we wouldn’t be getting an $85 Sunday Riley product.
Im excited for more spoilers. I hope they are super fantastic and hopefully help settle some ruffled feathers.

Totally agree. I purchased two and am glad I did. What I don’t use I always give to family members or donate to women escaping domestic violence groups. Happy Holidays 🙂

Oops – my post had a link in it. Here it is without the link. Google Nest Luxury Votive Gift Set to see the set I’m talking about!
I’m happy about the scent but have to say I’m not going to be pleased if they value this like a full-size votive candle (yes, call the oxymoron police on me!). Going by the only set they seem to have with this packaging, this should be valued at $7. I had assumed this would be a giftable votive from their normal line, which has a value of $16. This size/packaging style really isn’t giftable. I’m holding out judgment til the end, but I have a feeling my first-ever GB will also be my last-ever GB.

They could have at least included the votive size if not FULL SIZE as stated.

Sometimes common sense needs to come into play when purchasing a “mystery box”. You know the brands of the 7 items and you know the box has a retail value of $204. Sunday Riley $85, Glamglow $19, Nest Votive $16 we are already at $120 with 3 items. If you have high expectations for the last 4 items you are just fooling yourself.

That’s what I thought as well when I realized Sunday Riley is $85 (initially I thought it was $45-55).
Which kind of sucks for me, actually, as I am not interested in that particular item from Sunday Riley. 🙄

Well said! I think we can safely assume the spoilers are going from most exciting to least exciting. I’m not mad about it… I see it as getting the Sunday Riley at half off with some pretty nice extras as a bonus. 😋

I am not amused either- a mini votive and my precious Glamglow is a purple lip balm! I say it is starting to look a little bit like what I have come to expect from Glossy Box “not much”
So waiting for mascara, eye liner, lip liner, hand cream and one micro sized eye shadow. All being “full sized” of course!
And for the record the mini votive is not full sized if it is normally sold as part of a set. Shame on GB for thinking we don’t pay attention. And I was not even one of the ones that had a cancelled Rituals box.
Rant over!

Legitimate question: is there such a thing as “full size” for a candle? Big candle, little candle, birthday candle, they’re all candle sized. (I also got my box for free with points, and am stoked about the Sunday Riley serum, so I’ll probably be happy no matter what else is in there.).

I messaged Nest last night and asked the question- Can you please tell me what size candle is considered full size? The votive or next size up? Their answer was- Hi Larry! Thanks for contacting Nest. The full size is considered our classic candle which is 8.1 oz. Hope this helps.” So there you have it straight from the horse’s mouth. Hope this helps.

Hey! I have an answer for you as per NEST. I messaged Nest fragrances and asked- Can you please tell me what size candle is considered full size? The votive or the next size up?Their answer was- Hi Larry! Thanks for contacting Nest. The full size is considered our classic candle which is 8.1 oz. Hope this helps.” I didn’t want to wonder about it and decided to ask the one that makes the product. So there you have it…

Where does it say “full size”? It doesn’t say it on the website. Did they change it?
I don’t know why I ever believe what glossybox says anymore but it’s an ok box so far.

I think they did change it. I looked a few days ago when someone was still claiming it said it, but I couldn’t find anything. I can’t find anything now. But in an attempt to make sure I wasn’t completely going crazy (because I swear I remember seeing it at one time too) I checked out the MSA Forum and under the Glossybox LE post someone has a screenshot posted of the product description as of November 12 and it says “Tis the season…Our much anticipated Holiday Limited Edition box will be available for sale in only a few days, encasing 7 full-size products worth over $204. Enter your email below to be the first to know when this exclusive box goes on sale!”

The items are holiday/seasonal, unlike the boxy ones which could have just been items in a regular box. I think it’s more of what I expected from a limited edition box. Obviously this is my personal taste…

I’m going to respectfully disagree with some people here. I see it as full size because it is a full size votive.
Sure I would have liked a bigger candle but it is a full size of what it is.

Is it a full size votive tho? I noticed in the spoiler picture it’s in a black holder and not in the prettier glass that is typical of Nest candles and also not the one from the link. It’s hard to tell but it even looks a bit smaller if you compare the 2 of them. Gives me the impression that it could possibly be a sample size or smaller promotional size specifically made for this box but I’m not sure. Guess we will find out once they arrive.
Reply
Meagan
This is their gift with purchase size, aka free. Eugh, down to the black and paper packaging and all. Def not their normal votive size
LB
I would totally agree with you if this was a normal size NEST votive but it appears to be the half sized mini one. You cannot even buy that size as an individual candle on their site as far as I can tell (only as part of gift sets with a bunch of scents). So it doesn’t appear to be standard, let alone full size. That being said, it is splitting hairs and not something to riot about, of course, but facts in advertising do matter… And for the record the scent is awesome so 1 oz may not be enough. 😉

Looks great, I really like all 3 spoilers and am glad I purchased. I’ll probably purchase a 2nd one if they’re still available this week.

So far I am ok, with everything but the candle. It’s not full size or a good size votive candle. It’s too small if it will be counted as “7 full size” products. Oh well….guess Glossy is not in the mood to please their customers this Christmas.
Reply
JuJu
The total value should still add up to $204, though.
So I would guess that means much higher value spoilers ahead.
Reply
JuJu
Oh, wow, I didn’t realize Sunday Riley is $85!
Nicole
I do wish the candle was larger, but I’m still so excited about it! I think the spoilers have all been pretty solid. I was one of the people trying endlessly to get the Boxycharm LE, but the glossybox one is definitely looking to be more of my style.
