Benevolent Beauty Box November 2017

Benevolent Beauty Box is a cruelty-free beauty subscription. They send cosmetics, skin care, hair care, and beauty tools each month. When you sign up, you provide some personalization preferences, such as your hair and eye color and whether you prefer both or neutral colors, etc. Benevolent Beauty offers a VIP monthly box and a Mini monthly box.

This is a review of the Monthly VIP box ($29.95 a month). For your reference, my color preference is neutral/light.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Nomad Cosmetics Intense Eyeshadow in Cohiba – 1.5 g Estimated Value $8.18 (Full size 2.2 g Value $12)

This eyeshadow is super buttery and pigmented! This warm rich brown color with golden shimmer will compliment almost every eye and skin color. I like that it went on smoothly with minimum fall out. The color lasted all day even though most of the shimmer faded away in the afternoon.

Palmetto Derma Pore Purifier Charcoal Mask – Retail Value $64

Good to know for swaps – this item has an inner foil seal.

Since this is a high-value item in the box, I was very curious about the performance of this product. This face mask is infused with 70% organic ingredients – a lot of beneficial oils, multivitamins, and an exfoliator. While I love this minty-scented face mask because it left my skin feeling super clean and soft, I think that their packaging could’ve been improved. This plastic jar really doesn’t make me feel like it’s worth $64 – though the quality of this product is definitely up there.

Starlooks “Lava” Cream Liner – 2.5g Listed Value $12 (Found the ‘perfect size’ here for $5.50 but I’m not sure if it’s the same size as the product I received or not.)

In a pot, this cream eyeliner looks red, but it turned out to be a really flattering dark reddish-brown. It went on easily and once it dried, it stayed on ALL DAY. I’m impressed! Not sure how I’m going to use this color as a cream shadow base like the info card suggested though.

The next two items are from Tat2U Makeup. I’m new to this brand but their products are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly!

Tat2U Makeup Lip Pencil in Naked Truth – Retail Value $14

Tat2U Makeup Lip Locke in Always and Forever – Retail Value $18

First of all, I love the color selection for both the liquid lipstick and lip pencil. They are right up my alley! The lip pencil went on smoothly and the lipstick is my perfect nude shade! It dried down to a comfortable matte finish that lasted through my hot lunch!

Here are the swatches of the eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip pencil, and liquid lipstick. I like how all the colors go very well together!

There is also a coupon for 35% off entire order from Tat2U attached in the box, however, I’m not sure where the code is exactly.

And this is the look I completed with everything I received from Benevolent Beauty Box this month!

The Verdict: The value of this box added up to $116.18, which is more than 3 times the cost of the box. I love the quality of everything I received in this box! Overall, I think that this box did a great job of curating cruelty-free products, and the majority of the items are vegan as well.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, order by the 22nd of each month to get that month’s box.

Jira discovered the world of subscription boxes when she first moved to New York in 2017 (subscription box is not a thing in her home country!). Thanks to MSA, she’s now subscribed to almost 10 beauty and lifestyle boxes, with FabFitFun, BeautyFIX, and Clean Beauty Box as her favorites. Ps. Her boyfriend thinks that she’s only subscribed to Ipsy, so please keep this a secret between us 😉

  1. The Palmetto charcoal mask is fantastic! I have 62 yo dry skin. After one application my skin showed a more dewy glow and after 3 uses my fine lines have plumped and filled in. Perfect for the holidays!

  2. Great review, I love how you do the swatches and show the makeup on! It’s really helpful 🙂
