This month's theme is "Balance." According to the info card, the products in this month's box should "inspire you to create your own personal spa, sink deeper into relaxation, and allow nature's healing properties to rejuvenate you."
Each month there is a Yogi Surprise Sequence included. I love that flying "Warrior III" pose! It's sort of intimidating, but once I'm balancing on one leg, torso stretching forward, I end up feeling so light and free.
There's also a card advertising a yoga retreat giveaway (doesn't that Costa Rican shore look gorgeous?) and... spoiler alert...

Lotus Flower Om Apothecary Bohemian Funk Body Oil, 2 oz - Retail Value $35.00
This oil looks gorgeous inside the bottle. I love the simple design of the label, too! But that's all kind of superficial... what you probably want to know is just what "Bohemian Funk" smells like, haha. Honestly, it's the perfect name for this fragrance. A blend of cedarwood, sandalwood, and patchouli essential oils suspended in grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil, avocado oil, and vitamin E, this skin soothing oil smells like walking into an incense-filled abode (or that one shop in town with all the hemp ponchos in the window...). The fun, self-aware name suggests that this company knows just what it's doing—this is definitely the stereotypical hippie scent, but to be honest, wearing this oil around has helped me appreciate the nuances of this peaceful aroma on a new level.
They included a little advertisement and coupon for this brand in the box, too.
PureSol Konjac Cleansing Sponge - Retail Value $11.99, Listed Value $13.00 (Found on Amazon for $11.39)
I've seen small konjac sponges before, but this one is actually about the size of a kitchen sponge. It's still gentle enough to use on the face, but the size makes it perfect for the rest of the body. Made from konjac root fiber and bamboo charcoal, this sponge is naturally cleansing and a gentle exfoliant. I love that it's natural (biodegradable, naturally sustainable, and vegan), but I tend to prefer something just slightly more scrubby. That said, I'm in need of a new sponge for the shower, so I'm happy to have this hanging by it's included suction cup in my tub!
Rutz Skincare In Your Face Spa-Ahh Elixir Mist, 2 fl oz - Retail Value $28.00
I like the idea of using this refreshing spray after a workout or when I need a wake-up moment midway through the afternoon. The cool, refreshing effects didn't last more than a few moments for me, though. The aroma, created by a unique essential oil blend, is both earthy and just barely floral in an enticing way. Apparently, this potion has antibacterial properties and is infused with Reiki energy as well! I wonder if this would work as a toner in addition to a spritz...
Simply Beyond Products Organic Fruit Vinegars in Cranberry, 5 fl oz - Retail Value $12.99, Listed Value $11.00
Oooo, I'm totally going to use this tart, sprayable vinegar on salads and veggies. It seems like a great way to get an even coating of flavor over an entire dish. Plus, this vinegar is made from 70% real organic fruit and has no added sugar, coloring, or acidic food additives. The cranberry flavor here is sweet and tangy. The info card suggests putting it on yogurt, in addition to savory foods... I might just be curious enough to try that!
October Fields Teaberry Mint Lip Balm, 0.15 oz - Retail Value $3.50
This minty balm made my lips feel soothed and instantly cooled thanks to its peppermint essential oil. I liked the relatively unisex blend—it reminded me of a peppermint tea. I've gotten balms like this in boxes before, and in some cases, they feel like filler. This one, however, is cruelty-free, plant-based, and all natural, which is nice.
LesserEvil Buddha Bowl Foods Himalayan Gold Butter Flavored Coconut Oil Popcorn, 0.88 oz - Listed Value $1.00 (Buy a case of 12 5 oz bags for $39.99 here)
This bag of popcorn wins 1) for being super colorful and cute and 2) for containing the lightest, fluffiest popcorn I've had in awhile. There's a healthy dose of pink Himalayan sea salt on this buttery popcorn, but there's zero butter. It's made with coconut oil, though you don't taste it at all, and sunflower oil. The bag in this box is about 0.88 oz and is only 100 calories, so if you're watching what you eat, this makes for a low-cal choice.
The Verdict: I'm not sure if I got the "balance" theme from the items in this box, but that's not to say that I didn't enjoy what I received! I'm really excited to make use of the fruit vinegar, and while I'll have to be ginger about how much I apply at once, I'm eager to experiment with incorporating that Bohemian Funk oil into my fragrance/body care routine. I was happy with the quality of everything and the fact that a few of these items came from smaller or at least lesser-known vendors. I feel like I'm discovering something new when I open this box each month, and this box was no different!
