This box came with two cards. One is all about the featured brand:

And the other one is about the featured product from that brand:

They detail key ingredients, usage tips, and more:

Now, time for the actual item!

Odacite An Autumn on the World Serum – Value $149

This packaging! Both fancy and minimal – I love it!

This is a serum you can mix with your moisture cream, or apply directly to your skin.

This serum is 15% Vitamin C, and designed to add radiance, firmness, and brightness to your skin.

First, I love the scent. It reminds me of a few other luxe natural beauty brands I’ve tried and definitely feels at home in a luxe skincare ritual. And while this bottle size is small (15 ml), you only really need a drop or two per application. The oil is rich and will take a few minutes to full absorb, but it’s worth it – I could immediately notice a difference in my skin!

Verdict: My first month of The Detox Box, and I’m a fan! I received an expensive and impressive $150 serum for only $50. That’s an awesome deal, and now I’m already thinking of upgrading to a 6-month subscription so I can get it for only $40 a month.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? As of today (10/5), yes! From Detox Box: The Detox Box ships the first week of each month via USPS Priority Mail (1-3 business days), or as soon as it’s ordered while supplies last.

  1. Thanks – good one to add to Beauty Heroes!

  2. Just ordered this today ! How is everyone using it ? Mixed in to your moisturizer or on its own ?

    • I’ve tried it both ways, but I liked using on it’s own better because I want the full 15% Vitamin C on my skin, and not to water it down. When I wake up, my skin is plump and glowing! Love it!

      • Did you add your moisturizer over top ? Or did you only use the serum? I can’t wait to try it !

      • I used a moisturizer too. You should use a moisturizer first though, then wait at least 15 minutes to give it time to soak in, then use the serum. It is made up of oils and oil products should always go on last, to seal everything else in. It should also go on last because nothing else will penetrate through oil.

      • Thank you this was so helpful ! It’s so expensive I want to make sure I am using it right.

      • That’s nice to hear you like it directly applied to your skin. I’m about to dabble in some of my Odacite serums, and my plan was to use them directly on my skin as a serum, rather than a booster. I know that means I’ll probably go through the product faster, but like you said, I want to get the most benefit from such a high quality product. 🙂

  3. This serum is heavenly! I just wish the size was a little bigger, then I would buy a second bottle!

    • Can you get a 2nd subscription for one month? 😉

But I agree on the size. That’s one of the biggest complaints about their products. Everybody loves them, but a lot of people prefer to use them more as a serum, rather than a booster, which causes them to go through the product super fast. If their serums were 1oz, like a typical serum, the RV would be ~$230 (using the $39 RV of most of their .17oz serums).

      • Luna… your a genius!! A second subscription would be perfect! I would get a full ounce for just $100. I’m not sure why I didn’t think of that, as I have done it before with other subs. Thanks Luna!

      • Melissa and Luna! It sounds like you both know the correct way to use the products. I have been using the wabi sabi balm that I received in the August art of organics subscription. I love it! It doesn’t absorb like other moisturizers do and usually in the morning when I wake up I’m still glowing. Would I use this serum before or after my wabi sabi balm?

Also! I haven’t gotten my art of organics box for this month but cannot wait. How would you two use the Akar spray toner? After cleansing and before serums and moisturizer? Will it act like my everyday toners do?

I am considering a second detox box for the month. I signed up for a three month subscription but may go on and get a second serum this month. I used it last night and could see an instant glow.

      • For the serum, I would use it prior to the balm, as a balm should always be the very last layer in your skincare routine since it seals in all of the hydrating products you layered underneath. From what Melissa said, this sounds like an oil-serum, and I’ve used these types of serums before under balms, and it wasn’t too much for my skin (and I have acne prone, oily skin too!). The key is to give it a few minutes to absorb before applying the balm over it. (I’d be interested to hear Melissa’s take though 🙂 )

For the spray toner, I typically use them as a sort of “prep” for my serum, by spraying it on after a regular toner (the kind I swipe over my face) & before my serum. But I only use it this way if it’s in spray form. If it was in a bottle where I could pour some on a cotton round, I’d use it like a regular toner instead. I also use these spray toners (and hydrating mists) as the hydrosols for my powder masks too!

      • Luna! Thank you so much for the advice! I cannot wait to get my art of organics box. I signed up for a 3 month subscription for the detox box and I am debating about signing up for a 3 month subscription of beauty heros. I have loved everything in my art of organics box and I hope that the detox box is the same way.

I have been using the balm as my nighttime moisturizer. Is that the correct way to do it?

I have received so many skin compliments since discovering my subscription addition. I am on product overload but I can’t help it.

      • I’m in the same boat as you. My skin has never looked better since I started subbing to boxes. 🙂

As for when’s a good time to wear a balm, I think it just depends on what you feel comfortable with. Since I have oily skin, and wear powder foundation, a balm during the day would never work for me. However, on those lazy days I’m just bumming around my house, I have used balms during my morning routine. But if you ask most people, I’m sure they’d say to use it at night since it seals in all of the actives one typically puts on in their nighttime routine.

      • I definitely agree with Luna.. the balm should be used last, as it is a lot heavier and thicker then this serum. This serum has more lighter oils in it. Also, about the toner.. the toner goes on after you cleanse, but before everything else.

      • Thank you both so much! I love my boxes. I have been debating about doing a three month subscription for Beauty Heroes but then that would mean I have an

Art of organics subscription, detox subscription, and beauty heroes… so hard to decide!

      • I think I might have to get a 2nd subscription as this serum is wonderful and can feel a difference after my first use. Luna, I was thinking of getting the Detox Box you mentioned. Do you have this one and what are your thoughts? I sure do appreciate all the tips and advice I receive on MSA. What a great group of fellow subscription addicts.

      • Unfortunately, I’m still on my sub box hiatus, so I’ll be missing out on this one. 🙁 I’m really stubborn when I put myself on no-buys even though I know I’m missing out on some great products, but all I need to do is look at the wonderful products I currently have in my stash, then I know “it’s okay”. 🙂 However, I will definitely be getting a 6-month sub in the near future!

I am allowing myself to indulge in a few LE boxes, and I just got my Safe & Chic mystery box, and I was so pleased with everything I got. I posted my contents on MSA’S post for it.

      • Pretty bummed… I guess the October box isn’t available anymore, as it says November box will be next..

      • Darn. I’m sorry to hear that. 🙁 Well, at least you know what to do next time something awesome comes in this box. 😉

      • Great news!!! I was able to get another October box! So excited..

      • @melissa, where do you see that October is sold out? Thanks!

      • Well, when I went to sign up for another box, it said to sign up now to get your November box. I kept checking though and was able to get another October box box yesterday! So happy!

  4. Thanks Luna for the tip on this box. My sub box addict senses have been tingling that this is going to be a great one!

    • My pleasure! My senses are tingling too! Haha which is why I plan on getting a 6-month subscription! 🙂

  5. Ugh I couldn’t pass this up. It sounds soooo great. I’m going to try a month or two before I sign up for a longer subscription

  6. I received my box today and signed up for 3 months. Appreciated the information cards and if this is the standard of their boxes I am going to have to extend my subscription. So glad that Luna and MSA are helping me spend my money, but am looking good doing so.

    • My pleasure Connie 😉 haha

I’ve been told by plenty that I’m a bad influence when it comes to this stuff. ha! 😀

  7. I signed up for the 6 month sub. The serum is fabulous!!!

    • It really is! Now I’m worried this subscription is going to get me hooked on pricey skincare! 😉

      • At least you’ll be getting that pricey skincare at a discount! 😉

      • We are all already hooked!

    • I agree! I signed up for the 6 month sub also. I noticed a difference right away in my skin. I added a few drops to my moisturizing in the morning and then at night I massaged 3 drops directly into my skin. Soft, nonoily, nonirritating. More glowy youthful skin. (I am 47). Love it! I may order an additional one month of this for another oil for when this eventually runs out. Not getting PS this month so that will justify it 🙂
