Crazy Aaron’s Holographic Mixed by Me Putty Kit - Retail Value $19.95

We are huge putty fans in this house and Thinking Aaron’s putty colors are always the best. We were so excited to get our own kit so we could create holographic putties in the colors of our choice. The kit came with 5 mini tins of clear putty. It also came with Magenta, Cyan and Yellow glitter putty to mix into the clear for fun color combos. Three special effects putties were also included: opal-izer, holo-izer and mystify-er. Colored pencils were included so you can design your putty tin labels.

Sensory TheraPlay October 2017

The directions were very helpful for my young kids. They were printed on a thick laminated tri-fold where you can actually mix your colors and add your special effects like a working mat.

I mixed up a batch using the yellow and holo-izer to show just one of the many options you could make.

Silly Slime Sucker - Retail Value $5.70

This little creature, when squeezed, expels air. Then placed into the slime, let go and the slime is sucked right into his nose like a mini snot vacuum. Squeeze again to release the slime and start all over again. This gross toy works well for hand and eye coordination and got lots of delighted squeals from my kids.

The Tangle Jr. Classic is a great silent fidget toy. It can help relieve stress and anxiety and helps work the hand muscles.

Tumble Wonder Fidget Stick - Retail Value $4.99

Stand this 3.5 inch stick up on one end then push it over and watch it right itself again. Tap again to keep the fun going. It will keep tumbling forward and backward. This is another silent fidget that works well on smooth surfaces likes desks and tables making it ideal for school.

U-Laces, 2 packs – Total Retail Value $8.98 ($4.49 per pack)

These fun lace replacements appeared on Shark Tank. These no-tie laces come in tons of fun colors. You will need one pack per shoe so it was nice they sent two packs so we can try them in a pair of my daughter’s sneakers. These are designed for children aged 3-9 (though they also make adult sizes) and are perfect for kids who struggle to tie conventional laces.

Popling – Retail Value $3.99

This funny looking little guy has suction cups so he can be stuck to a shiny smooth surface such as a car window, refrigerator or bathtub. Each time you pull your Popling up it makes a fun popping sound.

Quote Card – Bonus

As a bonus a Winnie the Pooh quote card was included this month.

Verdict: This was one of our favorite Sensory TheraPlay Boxes to date. While this box is especially geared towards children on the Autism spectrum or with sensory issues it’s also for “kiddos with emotional disturbance (e.g., hyperactivity, impulsivity, excessive anxiety, temper tantrums, poor coping skills).” My children were able to enjoy the items’ different textures and benefit from the stress-relieving components as well. Plus so many of these items are just downright fun! I think the box fills a great niche market. The value this month was $46.60 which breaks even with the cost of the box ($39.95 plus $6.75 shipping to my address). While this month may not be a high value monetarily I highly recommend it for the curation.

I purchase this box every month for my 21 year old daughter, who is autistic and there is always something in it that she loves.

The putty looks really fun.

The quote is mis-attributed however.

I just went down the rabbit hole on this, and you are totally right! It IS from Winnie the Pooh, but it’s a quote from a Disney movie “Pooh’s Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin”. You just can’t trust any quote on the internet anymore.

I struggle with major anxiety, depression and PTSD — I honestly always want this box for myself! 🙂

We signed up for this box for our adult daughter who also struggles with anxiety and depression. She isn’t able to live alone because it gets so hard for her at times. Young or old this box is a blessing, I don’t think there is an age cap on this box.

😊 thank you for saying that and not judging… I’m seriously considering subscribing. And God bless your daughter and you for taking care of her.
