This month’s tasting box is all about Halloween, enjoying delicious sweet treats, and being present in the future without looking back at what might be lurking behind!
YumEarth Organic Lollipop: Watermelon – Buy a bag of 14 for $2.99
These lollipops are organic, gluten free, nut free, and vegan! You almost wouldn’t even realize you are eating candy just by reading the ingredients. This little lollipop was so delicious and sweet! The watermelon flavor was so strong and fruity in the best way! Nothing fancy here, just a really delicious candy.
These fruit snacks are a staple in my house! I’ve never purchased them in this large bag before, normally in the individual pouches, but it was fun to receive so many in one! My son loves these and asks for them most afternoons so I like that I know he is getting a snack made with real fruit and that provides him with different vitamins. Always a win when I can get something in a box that I know my son loves!
This little candy is made with no artificial flavors or fats. Liquorice can sometimes be a harder gummy like texture, but this is super soft it almost melts in your mouth. The flavors are very fruity and juicy so you can tell that this is made with real fruit! I wish I would have gotten more of these treats because they were so good!
I used to eat these when I was pregnant because ginger is great for morning sickness. This brand is made with 100% natural ingredients and has that fresh ginger taste. The outer coating provides this delicious sweetness so it tastes like you are eating a little candy. The best part is that ginger is great for you so you are getting the best of both worlds!
Hagensborg Truffle Pig: Milk Caramel, 0.40 oz – Value $1.00
All natural European chocolate with a rich caramel filling, enough said! This little pig-shaped chocolate was incredible, I could have eaten 10 more. A rich outer shell breaks open like a truffle to that creamy caramel center. It all just melts in your mouth! The adorable pig shape didn’t hurt either.
Kashi bars are probably one of my favorites, but since they are on the pricey side I rarely buy them which makes receiving some in a box a special treat! The dark chocolate comes in these rich chunks that make this bar extra sweet with a little bitterness. The granola and almond add that extra layer of crunchy and chewy goodness. For me, sea salt with chocolate is the perfect pairing so that hint of it on this bar really put this over the edge!
Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle, 1 oz – Buy a 5 oz. bag for $3.99
It seems crazy to say this now, but I have never had brownie brittle before! I love brownies so this was a really unique take on the real thing. They are crispy and crunchy like a harder cookie, but they have that extra chocolate flavor to it that creates a creaminess that melts in your mouth! The extra chocolate chunks were amazing, and added a unique layer mixed with the sea salt. This snack was too good to put down!
Wowbutter is a great alternative to the real thing, especially if you or someone in your family has a peanut allergy. This is made without any peanuts, so just toasted soy butter, soy oil, and sugar. A few of my son’s friends have peanut allergies so I am always aware of what snacks he eats before playdates. Kids also can’t take peanut butter products into most schools now, which makes this a really great alternative! It was thick and creamy, just like the real thing, so I could see someone using this and not even tasting a difference. I would love to buy a bigger jar of Wowbutter to bake with, I bet it would be delicious!
Door County Kettle Chips: Jalapeno, 1.75 oz. – Buy a 6 oz. bag for $3.50
If you follow my other snack box reviews, you will know that I love kettle chips! I had never heard of this brand before so I was excited to see what their jalapeno flavor was all about! These really are packing the heat! After eating a few you really have that spice lingering on your lips. Luckily, I really enjoy spicy food so this was cool with me! The chips are the perfect kettle style, crispy and crunchy without any of that extra grease you normally get. I gobbled down the whole bag!
The Verdict: I have never tried the Love with Food Tasting Box before, but I was pleasantly surprised by how many snacks you receive! All had a great variety and I was introduced to brands that I have never tasted before, many of which I will be buying more from. The monthly cost of the Love with Food Tasting box is $9.99 a month, which equals out to $1.11 per item since I received 9 this month. While it is harder to find these products in the individual sizes that I received, I don’t know if they would each break down to that value. I wish that maybe they would send one or two more of the smaller items, that might bring the overall value up a bit more. For me, I could have eaten many, many more of that truffle pig! Overall, Love with Food has been a fun way for me to find new brands and taste snacks that I would normally not by on my own.
