Elemis is lovely. If it comes back in stock, I will likely order this one.

OUT OF STOCK.
I’m so bummed, I know people in the comments are upset because the price is really high, but this calendar is not just sample sizes. One of the reasons it’s this price is that the day of the “24th” the calendar contained a FULL size Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. (retail $128 full size 50ml jar)
I personally love their Pro-Collagen line and have noticed a remarkable difference in my crows hand fine lines, but it is really expensive. I won a jar from a giveaway and then unfortunately really liked the product, then I saw the price…ughh!
I think it all comes down to what you like. I agree that the prices on so many beauty/skincare items are out of control. Hopefully that will change.

I wrote earlier that it was out of stock, but then it came back in stock. So I’d recommend to keep checking it because I have a feeling it’ll be back in stock again. 🙂

…aw, hell-don’t feel guilty for being able to appreciate the value of this…i’m sure i do things with my money others would find terribly frivolous, or foolish–considering i’m on Social Security Disability-and on a subscription box website, eh?

i apologize for sounding holier-than-thou in previous comments…mea culpa

Tammy you were being honest not holier than thou. Don’t apologize for speaking the truth.

It’s the brand they hawk on all the carnival cruises as well. The body care smells lovely, the skincare is not very effective at all, and highly fragranced. You can usually get sets from their catalog of similar composition for far less. They certainly upped the price to take advantage of the Holiday.

…i am just stunned by the cost of these calendars…and, aren’t advent calendars supposed to be gifts for others–i mean, this isn’t the type of thing one buys for ones’ self, traditionally, is it?

i realize there are no standards, or ethics, or traditions, or societal norms in our current american culture…i am merely being wistful, for the not-SO-distant past…

Yes, growing up in Germany, ours contained pretty paper ornaments or small chocolate. The ones at church, open to a lovely bible verse with picture, telling the story of Christmas. A new candle is lit around an advent wreath each Sunday of Advent. The anticipation is that Christmas is the Big Celebration. I do find it a bit sad that Advent has also become a marketing scheme as well.

ok–that’s what i thought…i’m sorry…leave it to american capitalism to turn a lovely, simple thing into an ugly way to make more money

such a sick society, that values money above all, above…ALL…

there came a time, when we crossed over from “progress”…we are far away, now

Donna

Are they nuts $235 for sample sizes .i dont think so

Especially when you can get full size/kits with 4-5 items for 49?!? at places??
Another marketing gimmick using the allure of surprise combined with Christmas.

This is an upfront disclaimer: I did not do any research before making my comment, other than basing it upon my lifelong experiences. We have Advent Calendars from childhood that were tiny toy ornaments to place on the tree every day. We also had some that were candies, usually chocolates, to hush the young kids from asking “Is it Christmas yeeeettttt?!,” every single day.

Obviously, the ornament ones are still with us, but my siblings seem to have absconded with those, haha. These are probably along the line of the daily indulgences, but wayyyy more indulgent than a simple chocolate. But, if one thinks about it, at times that really aren’t that far away, one piece of chocolate would have been out of the budget for many struggling families in the Depression, etc. It seems like one or two calendars came out in the outlandish price ranges, sold out, and bam! that has now set the prices.

Man the prices on good advent calendars this year is outrageous! Every time I see one I really want it’s definitely over 100$!!
I only wish I had the kind of money they want for these things I’d be rich!

It’s now saying it’s out of stock. I was going back & forth on this one since it was posted…. usually when I do that it means I’ll cave eventually. But the price was making me hesitate. While the value is there, I’m just not feeling like shelling out that kind of $$$ right now. I guess it’s fate saying fuhgeddaboudit. Fine, I will.

(I hope this drops off the 1st page of MSA soon though, because that’s as far as I usually go when browsing, and if I keep seeing this post I’ll keep clicking the link checking to see if it’s back in stock)
