LOL I knew it would happen. Last time they were like “last chance to get your 20$ off” and I was like “nah, don’t lie to me and yourself. You know a bigger sale is about to come”. I have come to the conclusion that never have my annual subscription with FFF, BOS and PSMH . All I need to do is sit back, wait for the sale and grab what I want. Score every time !

I do annual sub to FFF (when they offer a sale on the annual) because you can customise. But for Rachel Zoe and popsugar I only get boxes on sale… because they’re always on sale! Same with glossy box- I only want or ‘need’ it when it’s $10/month!

I want to grab this – but is there a way to just get a one-off box? Or do you have to subscribe? And if you have to subscribe, does anyone know how easy it is to cancel (ie. can you do it on the website? or is it a phone call, email, etc?)

and one more question – does anyone know if you subscribe, get one box, then cancel – is this a sub where coupon codes won’t work in subsequent signups? I know some of them only let you use a coupon code once in your customer history (at least with same email address), and others don’t seem to care/track.

I just purchased this box (when they had the promo of free Tacha with the box), and I will cancel now. I have done this once before so they don’t seem to mind.

Jenn, this is the way I always do it. Sub with coupon, cancel, then sub with another coupon. But you can’t cancel until you get your box. So you’ll want to understand the date for winter billing to ensure that you have time to do this.

I want to preface my comment by stating how much I love this subscription. However, this drives me bonkers. I get the annual subscription, only to find that there’s a sale later.
I so wish companies would reward annual subscribers and not flaunt sales later on. This also tells me this box was not as well received as it may have been. I think it would be cool to offer a private sale to annual subscribers on individual items instead. Just my opinion though.
This also doesn’t bode well for the sense of urgency, as more often than not, it actually doesn’t sell out.

It is not how the box was recieved or purchased.
The product is procured in advance. Forecasts are projected on the likely amount of boxes that will be sold. Subscription boxes are unpredicatable due to this being a newer industry with limited sales history, so forecasts have more room for error in this supply chain than another more stable industry. The forecast overages do not coorelate with the sales or how it was recieved at all. This could have sold 10X more than any prior box, and been the biggest hit they have ever seen! BUT if the forecasters projected 12 times uplift then they will still have remaining inventory.
Over forecasting and discounting is a better finacial decision than underforecasting and missing sales. Sales on one box directly coorelate to sales on future boxes.
Just a little lesson in supply chain in reference to how the box was perceieved. BUT I do agree… offering sales on specific items would be AWESOME! I would totally buy some of these items seperately!
