The Rachel Zoe Box of Style from The Zoe Report is a subscription box from Rachel Zoe. Each box includes a hero item which is revealed before boxes ship, and other fashionable items and accessories, plus a few beauty products and styling tools, too. I am a huge fan and love her taste, so this is one of my favorite style subscription boxes!

GiGi New York Rachel Convertible Clutch, Retail Value: $195

This design is an exclusive collaboration with Box of Style!

It’s a foldover leather crossbody bag with removable straps and a tassel zipper pull.

I’m SO impressed with the quality of this bag! The navy leather is gorgeous, and the craftsmanship is phenomenal!

I’m all about cross body bags lately – I LOVE not having to hold onto a purse, so this is my ideal hero item. (And I didn’t have any navy bags!)

Open flat, this bag measures about 13 X 10.5 inches.

Oribe Supershine Light Moisturizing Cream – Value $52

Full-sized Oribe, AKA a beautiful and elusive subscription box find! I get excited even for samples of Oribe, so this is awesome!

If you haven’t sampled Oribe before, you are in for a treat! It’s a super-luxe hair care brand that makes your hair look and smell amazing! This cream is perfect for everyday use, too. It made my hair super soft without adding any weight. And again, the scent! So fab!

NUDESTIX Pulse Gel Color in Pulse – Value $24

NUDESTIX is another beauty brand I love! (I’ve purchased full-size versions of their lip crayons after sampling them in subscription boxes.)

And each NUDESTIX pencil comes in their signature tin with a mirror inside the lid.

And it also comes with a sharpener!

This color is described as a “glossy rose with plum undertone.”

It’s moisturizing, shiny (but not sticky/glossy), and provides a good wash of color. I love this for my lips, but you can also use it on your cheeks.

Odeme Gold Catchall Tray – Retail Value Listed $45

(I couldn’t find this specific tray size on the Odeme site, so I’m listing the value from the card.)

This tray measures 5 X 7 inches with an inch edge.

It’s a porcelain tray covered in a gold metallic finish – so pretty!

And it’s the perfect size to be a catchall on your nightstand or to add a metallic accent to your coffee table.

Skinesque 3-Step Brightening Charcoal Mask – Value $37.50

This brand is new to me, and I love that they formulated this set without: parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oil, and synthetic dyes!

Inside you’ll receive 5 individual masks – and each mask has 3 steps!

First, you use the Gentle Foaming Cleanser to make sure you skin is completley clean. This was just as gentle as I was expecting, and the formula is creamy and hydrating. (It didn’t foam that much for me, though.)

Next, the Hydra Essense! “Hydra+ Essence is formulated with niacinamide and adenosine to provide intense hydration for healthy and supple skin. Sodium hyaluronate retains moisture to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and promotes collagen formation.” I applied this to my face and neck, patting it in, then it was mask time!

Step 3: The charcoal mask! You wear this for 15-20 minutes, and let the excess serum absorb into your skin when you remove the mask.

I found the whole process to be really relaxing! My skin felt hydrated and soft after, and I love that you get the whole set in a travel-ready pack!

Verdict: I’ve been saying this every season lately, but this is my favorite Box of Style box of all time! The cross-body bag is something I would have paid retail value for – it’s that good! And I’ll be wearing it all the time! The delicate rings fit my jewelry tastes perfectly, and all the beauty products are great formulas and items I will use daily. (AND they have a luxe home item in the box, too!)

And this box has a retail value of $529! Every piece feels high-quality and luxe, too. I’m so impressed!

For those that had varnished rings- I think it was whatever was kept in the baggies with the rings that caused the discoloration. I took mine out of the packaging and just let them air out for a few days and now they look exactly like they are supposed to and I haven’t had any issues while wearing them! What was originally my disappointment in purchasing has now resolved on its own without needing to contact CS.

As for the tray- I think I lucked out here as I only had one scratch which I didn’t even notice at first because of the location on the edge of the tray and the way the light reflects off it. In my case I won’t be asking for a replacement since it’s so minor, but I will say it should have been packaged in bubble wrap and my box had defintely been opened as it wasn’t closed all the way and there were visible fingerprints on the tray. It didn’t bother me so much as I’m sure they were checking all the boxes for defects after so many folks had issues, but I know this can be an issue for others. They could have at least wiped it down to make it less apparent. Lol

Overall I really enjoyed this box and am glad I decided to purchase even after reading all the comments on here.

I’m trying to cancel this subscription, I wanted to cancel when I first saw the spoilers for this box. I’m not happy with any of the items. I haven’t tried the masks yet but the oribe cream makes my hair look unwashed an oily. The lip color doesn’t work for me. The bag is not a color I have any use for and I can’t wear rings at my job. I emailed them to cancel, they never got back to me and then I received an automatic email today with a survey on how my request was resolved. Well I’m not happy because it hasn’t been resolved yet. I’ve been very happy with past boxes but I don’t like how you get billed a month before the box even ships and you can’t cancel once you’ve been billed.


Use the form on the box of style site and be as specific as possible. If they do not get back to you I suggest trying social media. Seems like Instagram is the best option. Good luck!


So I’m rather miffed at the moment. My box shipped out over a week ago, but hasn’t moved at all. Each I have tracked it, it’s says the same thing, that the box arrived at the shipping facility in CA on 9/28. I’ve been in touch with FedEx and a trace was put on the package. The CS rep I spoke to stated that it’s most likely lost. I then contacted BOS to find out how they would address the issue if the package is lost, I was told that I need to wait 10 days after my box was scheduled to arrive, and then they will discuss options for resolution with me. I ordered this box in the first week of September, I expect to have it in my possession before November.


The. Rings are size 6 and I’m a size 8 can they be made larger with out damaging them ? The company won’t answer that question.


Yes I’m an 8/9 and although I’m waiting on replacements bc of the tarnished rings they will fit you. They are more open but kind of look cool as the midi ring even if you don’t like them so open on another finger. The quality of the ones I received was not what I expected so just keep that in mind.


The add on necklace and earrings I was told were sold out so the Zoe team gave me back my money. Awwww really wanted that!


Guys, I just had a really good experience with La Soula’s customer service. Like many others, one of my rings was tarnished and gross. I emailed Box of Style’s customer service and still hadn’t gotten a response after a few days, so I went to La Soula’s instagram to see if they had posted anything about the rings. On one of their pictures of the rings where people had been commenting and complaining about the quality, La Soula responded and said there had been a bad batch of rings but that they wanted to send us new ones. I emailed [email protected] and she responded almost instantly asking for my address and the color of my rings so they could send replacements. She said they’d be shipping out around September 26. I am SO IMPRESSED with the response I received and I encourage anyone who hasn’t had any luck with BOS customer service to just email La Soula.


I agree. La Soula was the best. I received my replacement rings and they are just awesome! No tarnish (rose gold) after wearing them daily for two weeks and I can actually see a very small sparkle on the ends.

I am completely pleased with their service and the replacements.

Now about that purse… I have to pick my battles. 🙂


Thanks for posting this! I am having the same problem with the rings and my tray is scratched! Hopefully I will get a response. I was really hoping people were just being overly picky about the quality and item defects but the struggle is real! Frustrating because this box looked amazing. I do love the purse which is what I was most excited about in the first place.


I had the same experience with La Soula. The RZ Box of Style customer service rep contacted La Soula on my behalf and copied me on the email. La Soula responded right away and is sending me out a replacement too. Waiting on the replacements. Hopefully the quality will be better. I did also express my dissatisfaction with the diamonds. I got the silver ring set and the diamonds were so tiny I could barely even make them out under a magnifying glass. Fingers crossed!


I really hope the replacements are better too! I love the rings, just not the quality.


Overall, I’m very happy with this box. My rings arrived bright and shiny, with no tarnish whatsoever. I adore the masks, my skin looked incredible after using one mask (I don’t usually see results like that from a single mask application). The oribe and nudestix products will definitely get some use, I really like both. I have listed the Gigi clutch for swapping as navy isn’t really my thing (I would keep it if it was a different color that worked better with my wardrobe). The odeme catchall tray, which I was excited to receive, is the biggest disappointment for me. The “gold” color is extremely orange IRL. The tray also has several scratches on it. It’s a shame since I *love* the black & white odeme tray from Popsugar. My fave box of all time is still Summer 2017, but I still feel that I got my money’s worth with this box.

Purchased the fall box Sept 6th, still hasn’t arrived. No email saying it was shipped, no tracking #. Emailed them about it, got an email back with a complaint ticket number but no response other than that so far.


I purchased the 7th and got shipping info 2 days ago. Hope yours is on the way as well!

So I got my box over a week ago and I recently posted on here that I was surprised to see that so many people received defective rings and trays because I thought mine were fine. But I have only been wearing one ring and didn’t really look at the second one. I just looked at it- The second ring is literally BLACK in multiple places and had literally never been out of its bag. I’m so disappointed! I was so happy with this box originally but to see so many people having the same quality issues is not okay. 🙁


Contact customer service through using the form on their website. They responded quickly and were very apologetic. I had to send pics of my defective tray and rings. They responded saying they are replacing my tray and actually put me in touch with La Soula about replacing my rings. La Soula also responded quickly. Now I’m just waiting. I may still cancel my subscription, but will see on how the replacements go. I did tell La Soula that besides the issue with the finish, the diamonds were non-existent. I couldn’t even see them with a magnifying glass.

The problem with doing collaboration items with these prestige brands is BOS is literally having them do it using cheaper materials and it’s backfiring. Case in point with this box. Evebtough the clutch is made well, it’s the cheapest leather. Something you’d expect to find for $29.99 at Target.

I feel bad for these brands because Ai’m sure they are given a cost of goods Target to hit.


I just emailed them and it seems like they’ve been pretty helpful to most people on here about damaged items, so I’m hopeful. You mentioning the diamonds though made me take a closer look at mine. On my tarnished ring, one diamond is sparkly silver and actually pretty noticeable. On the other diamond and on my “good” ring (the one I’ve been wearing), the diamonds are flat, matte, and white, and you can barely see them. I definitely agree that this seems to be a nice brand but the materials used were just too cheap, which is a shame.


Are the add on items in the box or sent separately?
I used the cream cleanser and serum. Lovely! I have sensitive skin too!
Bag looks classic in style. Will use it! Hardware looks like metal and a plastic metal. Hope it doesn’t break….but love the purse.

I was excited to get this box. I just received it today and honestly I’m a little disappointed in the quality. The purse is a stiff, plastic feeling leather and the embossed print is unappealing. The rings look much better in the pictures than on your fingers. If there are any sparkles on them I can’t see them. The gold tray I received is scratched and smudged. The only items that I really like are the lip gloss, masks, and Oribe hair product. This was the last box in my yr long sub and I will be canceling. I just hope I don’t have a difficult time with that.


@liz, the review refers to the Gigi clutch being leather, however the Box of Style booklet and the preview and reveal videos from Box of Style do NOT advertise the clutch as leather. Did you receive information from BOS that the materials are leather? My clutch had a big “made in China” sticker on it and nowhere on or in the bag itself does it say the material is leather. I don’t think it is leather, and was wondering whether the information in your review about it being leather was accurate. Thanks.


I agree, it’s weird that it doesn’t advertise that it’s leather in the booklet considering that in the winter 2016 booklet they mentioned that the Dagne Dover card case is leather in capitalized letters and it had a little tag inside it saying its 100% genuine leather. But, I did notice that on the BOS instagram any time someone asked what the bag is made of BOS replied that it’s 100% genuine leather. Gigi New York even responded on one of the BOS posts saying, “The embossed python leather used on all Gigi New York bags has been our stable leather since the brand started. It is a full grain leather produced on South American cow hides. Our embossed python is just one of the leathers we use on our handbags.” It was upsetting though to see the “made in China” sticker, and the fact that there was no tag inside confirming that it is leather.


In the end I do believe it’s leather since they keep confirming it, but I wish they actually advertised it as leather more often.

I am not sure it does help, Liz. The quality of the leather is questionable and rings looked nothing like the pictures. Did you revive a different box? Would you really pay nearly $200 for that purse. Really?
My purse was poorly crafted with obvious flaws. I’m suprised it was shipped. The same with the tray. It looks like most of the hero products are poor quality versions of the “non exclusive” products. I don’t really expect to get $500 worth of products for $100. BOS is a business, but advertising the supposed value of a product which is clearly inflated lacks a bit of truth in advertising.

Quite frankly, I think there are two style boxes that deliver for the money: FFF and Popsugar. BOS tries to hard to be lux, but misses the point with their poor manufacturing quality in EVERY BOX . Silk products made in polyester, poor leather… I’m giving it on more try, then I’m done. She should up the quality or lower the price.

I swapped for the tray and it looks more copper to me than gold. The color is emphasized even more when I hold it next to actual gold things I own. Are there color variations or does everyon’es look this way?


I found mine to be a really deep gold color. Not a true gold. It looked lighter on Instagram. Was thoroughly disappointed. Mine also had three black scuff marks.


Oh dear. I hadn’t been keeping up with comments and just saw how many people had issues with their trays and/or rings. Mine were both fine but this makes me worry about future boxes. It sounds like something went really wrong.


Being in Product Development, I see one thing happening here – Box of Style works with reputable prestige brands who sell high end goods, but these brands are using cheaper materials for the “made exclusively for” products to hit BOS target cost of goods. Then I think the retail value of the items are overstated because they are based on comparable goods those brands are currently selling.

What I like about some of the other subscription box programs like Popsugar and FabFitFun is they use current, inline product from the brands they work with. You know what your getting. You aren’t getting a “cheaper version” of a brand’s item.

Just my opinion…

It is really sad and deceiving……


You nailed it. RZ loves doing “exclusive collabs” so that they can use cheaper materials to make the products for the box. Why else is the box almost always discounted so quickly? They know how little they have paid for the (cheaper version) products. I wish she would stop doing exclusive collabs, but that’s high hopes at this point. It’s funny how being a designer herself, RZ only once included an item from her brand in BOS.


I think there a huge problem with quality. Too many people are commenting that their rings and trays are tarnished. Is RZ getting these trays for a really cheap price? And the rings? There seems to be a quality problem there too.

I have not received my box yet. But these comments have me concerned. I think it is time for me and subscription boxes to part ways unless I get a very deep discount.

The comments on the tray are too frequent. These trays sound like they are returns or very old. I know that people are telling the truth about these trays. Something is terribly wrong with them.

BOS used to be my favorite sub box.

I have not received my box yet but I trust and believe all these complaints. Something is wrong with the quality of the tray and rings. Now the BOS seems to be a platform for hawking her clothing line. They are all over the promo shots.


I just received my Fall Zoe Box of Style and I LOVE it. I love the face masks, and the beautiful cross body bag. I can’t wait to use it, and I love that it has a long strap since I’m on the taller side.

I ordered the silver rings since they ran out of the rose color by the time I made my selection, and now I’m glad I did. This was my last box of an annual subscription, so I’m a little sad. And on the fence about re-subscribing since I loved at least 1-2 things from each of my boxes.

Since I was an annual subscriber, they gave me the Odeme compact mirror, which was a nice bonus, but I don’t think I’ll use it very much. There was also a note on the invoice about an Annual Gifting Notecard, but that was missing from my box. I don’t know what it is, or if I even want it, but I thought I would ask. I emailed the customer support at 7 pm on a Monday, and they responded 1 hour later with an apology, and that I should see a tracking notice with the note card shipment the next day. I feel like I lucked out with my really positive customer support experience and wanted to share.

Anyone have big fat fingers? I’m about a size 11 so I’m wondering if the rings will fit? Also what do people think of the bag? I really like it, but I felt burned by the spring bag. I hated the quality.


I’m around a size 9 and they only fit (and look decent) on the upper part of the fingers. But I personally love them and want tons of silver ones, hopefully I can swap for more. 🙂

I don’t have any input on the rings, but I am in love with this bag. I received my box on Saturday, and immediately put my essentials (including the wallet from the BOS Winter 2016 box) in this new bag and went to a party. It’s constructed well, not bulky, and I felt VERY chic.


I thought I was the only one to have received tarnished rings.
My gold tray is missing gold along the top edge and it was pretty smudgy when I unwrapped it. The bag looks really cheap, too.
I usually love my BOS but this is the first time I feel gypped. There isn’t anything in it that feels chic or special. I think I could have gone to TJ Maxx and picked-up most of these kinds items myself.
Still waiting to hear back from CS about having my rings replaced.

Oh barf, you guys, my Odeme tray was USED and there was someone else’s gross makeup all over it. Between that and my rings that don’t match and bend easily, I am super disappointed with the quality control for this box.


My tray has greasy smudge marks too and the plastic was bunched up inside the box instead of around the tray. Where is the quality control? I wonder where these boxes are being assembled?? Disappointing for $100 box. I agree with the other comments about “special collaborations”. Basically that just means cheap variation.
