De La Rosa Pulparindo, 2 pieces 0.5 oz. (buy a 20 piece box for $4.00)

These little gummies sort of have the texture of a fruit roll-up, but they are a bit more grainy because each is made from the pulp of a tamarind fruit. Be careful though to not take a huge bite at first because the other ingredient in this candy is chili peppers! This is the perfect savory snack as you will get hints of sweetness from the fruit and then a big bam of heat from the peppers. Mixed together, a mild saltiness comes out as you continue to enjoy this unique treat! I received this in my last Bocandy box, and I think I enjoyed it more this time around.

Bocandy Box September 2017 - 0006

Alteno Super Pepino with Chili Lollipop, 2 lollipops at 0.42 oz. – (buy a 40 piece bag on Amazon for $8.95)

You guessed it, this lollipop is made with cucumbers (pepino) and chilis! It might sound like an odd mixture, but it honestly tastes like you are eating a spicy pickle. When you first start enjoying this lollipop, you get a strong dill or cucumber flavor which is really refreshing! Then, as you continue, you are hit with the spice from the chilis. I am really happy I received two in this box because I was able to share one with my husband who loved this candy from my last Bocandy box!

Bocandy Box September 2017 - 0007

Miguelito Chamoy Powder, 2 packets – (buy a 100-pc box for $5.49)

This little powder treat was very unique! I didn’t realize until looking into the snack further that it is meant to be adding to fruit or food for snacking. I just tried it straight and it was a bit shocking at first. It looks like sugar, but instead, the treat is very spicy! You do get hints of sweet as you go, but overall I thought the flavors were way saltier than I would have liked. Now that I know how to eat it properly, I am going to use that second packet to put on some chicken or a piece of fruit to see how that goes!

Kinder Country, 23.5 g – (buy a box of 3 for $23.95)

Rich chocolate, cream-filled, with rice crisps throughout, oh my! This was such a decadent treat I just had to eat the whole thing without sharing! The cream filling mixed with the chocolate basically melts in your mouth, but then you get this delightful crunch from the rice crisps. This is what I love about chocolate bars, melty and creamy!

Kras Animal Kingdom, 0.5 oz. – Value $0.30

This was a very thin chocolate square, so thin that it breaks apart when opening. I loved the little animal on the wrapper, and it looks like they have other packaging that you can collect! This would be a fun treat to put in your little one’s stocking around the Holidays. The chocolate itself wasn’t my favorite, it had that light waxy flavor to it. I haven’t really ever met a piece of chocolate that I didn’t enjoy so this one was still very good!

Piramidelle, 21 g – Value $1.31? (price estimate based on similar item)

This chocolate wafer takes it to a whole other level because it has a cocoa powder filling in each layer! I love little wafers like this, the rich chocolate mixed with the crunch in each bite. Then you get the very sweet flavors between the crunch from that cocoa powder that really makes this treat different than most wafer cookies I have tried.

Kesten Desert, 30 g – Value $0.80

I couldn’t pinpoint the flavors from the filling in this, but once my husband tried it he yelled, “Eggnog!” If you can believe it, this rich creamy filling tastes a lot like eggnog. It is fluffy and extra sweet and is wrapped around that thick layer of creamy chocolate. After looking into this candy bar a bit more, the main ingredient in the filling is chestnut! The bar itself is softer than you would think and really does just melt in your mouth. I want to buy more of these for the winter instead of sipping on eggnog!

Kidy Koko, 21 g – Value $0.50? (price estimate based on similar products)

This treat tasted very similar to the little eggnog bar! The outer layer is a creamy chocolate that wraps this fluffy coconut cream in the middle. The bar itself is extra soft and really melts in your mouth, I almost forgot that coconut isn’t my favorite while taste testing this sweet bar! However, the coconut flavor and texture is very pronounced as you continue on so I was happy to share this with my mom.

Skawa Wafelek ABC 38 g – Value $2.00?

Like I said before, I love wafer cookies so I was excited to receive another from a different brand! The wafer itself has a ton of crunch and a light vanilla flavor to it. The filling was extra thick with a rich chocolate. I loved that this was a larger cookie that you can break off and enjoy throughout the day!

Verdict: My first time receiving Bocandy was last month, and I can safely say that I wasn’t the biggest fan. However, this month really impressed me! I am a chocolate lover to the core so I was very excited to see that there were so many sweet chocolate treats this month. My favorite items this month were the Kinder Country and the Kesten which I will be trying to buy more of! The box itself is $9.99 + shipping every month, which averages out to about $0.83 per item for the 12 that I received. Bocandy really seems to be a great value because you are receiving so many pieces. If you are a candy lover or know someone who is, this is the box for them! I really loved the September box and can’t wait to see what else they will introduce me to next month!

What was your favorite candy from the September Bocandy box?

  1. I gave this company a try a few times and both times had trouble with them. Also tried their beef jerky company and that was even worse. I bought a groupon for them and i sent emails with no respones from them. Sent messages on social medias to them also with no respones. Wrong items sent to me for the groupon and got really jiffed from it. To say the least both the candy and beef jerky companies aren’t worth the trouble. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

  2. I subscribed for a year a couple years back on a coupon where they had a more robust box that was a few bucks more a month. Never had any issues getting the box in a timely manner. The candy was okay, nothing really interesting that I couldn’t find at my local Cost Plus. My issue was that some of the candy was rapidly nearing it’s expiration date and there is no option to buy what you like on their website. I’m paying for curation and it just wasn’t there.

    • Thanks so much for your post! I always love hearing other subscriber’s take on the box.

  3. I saw a lot of complaints about people not receiving their orders on cratejoy; because I thought about trying it out.

    • Oh no! I am so sorry to hear that, hopefully, they will be able to look into what might be causing the issue.
