Included in the box is a booklet designed like The Daily Prophet which lists out all of the products found in the box as well as the value for each. The theme for this box is “Morsmordre” which is the spell to summon the dark mark.
Dark Magic Soy Candle, 12 oz. – Listed Value $18.00
When you think of dark magic, you wouldn’t necessarily think of eucalyptus and mint, but either way, this candle from Highland Bluff Studio smells really nice. I can’t decide if I want to put it in my kitchen or my bathroom. Even though I am a total Hufflepuff, I do like the design of this candle along with the scent.
Dark But Darling Enamel Pin- Listed Value $11.00
What an adorable way to make an ominous symbol seem cute! I mean, this is the symbol that calls the rest of the Deatheaters, aka Voldermort’s evil followers, to come to him and yet….adorable. Sweet little skull and a glittery snake on a pin. A perfect addition to your collection and any denim jacket! Thanks so much, supercuteawesomestuff.com.
Dark (Book)mark – Listed Value $1.50
Not that I need another bookmark, but this one IS glow in the dark so I suppose that’s better and necessary, right? I mean even in the photos you can tell this is glow in the dark, pretty impressive. This is an Accio! exclusive.
Dark Mark Temporary Tattoo – Listed Value $1.50?
This is a bonus item added to this month’s box! I wish it was bigger, but still pretty cool. While I already have real tattoos, I think this will be something I can (and will) put on for the Harry Potter Festival I am attending this month.
“Good and Evil” Quote Bookmark – Listed Value $1.50
Another fun and clever Accio! exclusive bookmark. This bookmark features your house colors along with a quote on the back from one that than the Dark Lord himself. I do think that 2 bookmarks in one box is overkill though.
Dark Forces Notebook – Listed Value $5.50
This “Dark Forces” notebook is a cute option to have around when you need to jot down just about anything from your grocery list to notes for work. Literary Emporium makes all kinds of fun and quirky items with a literary flair. It’s thin, but the design is well done and pretty cool looking as well!
Voldemort Articulated Paper Doll – Listed Value $17.00
Whoa, this paper doll is incredibly well done! Of course, I don’t know why I would want to put up an effigy to “He Who Must Not Be Named”, but perhaps with the rest of the characters, it would be fitting. Ardently Crafted creates this magnificent pieces of art and man they are really amazing. MIght have to collect them all, now.
Verdict: Another home run for me! Everything in this box is either an exclusive for Accio! or it’s a unique item sourced from Etsy. Either way, everything so far in my boxes has been really nice and not something I have seen before. I think my favorite item in this box is a toss-up between the candle and this incredible paper doll. If I were to change something, I would not have had two bookmarks, even though they are pretty cool. The overall value of this box is $56.00 while the cost is $39.99 plus shipping. Not great, but not too bad either. Doesn’t outweigh my enjoyment of the box!
Have you tried Accio! yet? Did you like it?
Mostly paper items..not worth it to me.
While still not my kind of box, I definitely think is the best of the etsy-centric boxes I’ve seen on the site – the quality all looks solid.
As for JKR not getting a cut? Please. She’s fine with it. She’s actually been one of the most fan-community-positive authors out there and has made well over a BILLION dollars off the series. She’s not going to miss the money nor care that she’s not making it.
I was eyeing this sub ever since I heard about it but I wanted to see some reviews before I committed. So, thank you for your review! I’m glad I didn’t subscribe. $40+ for nothing but paper plus small candle and pin – no, thank you. I know it’s “artisan” but I’d rather stick with the licensed items knowing that the author who created HP will get rewarded for her hard work and creation. And most of the time the licensed-made items still are of better quality than hand-made who are ripping off the author and the fans.
Wow, well that’s your opinion, but honestly, this box was way better than the LootCrate wizarding world box of licensed goods. I got two of those boxes and they were kinda terrible. And so was the quality. I’d rather have the handmade goods. And it’s not “ripping off” the author and fans. PS, how would this be ripping off fans??
I couldn’t figure that out either. The huge mark ups you have to pay on the licensed merch of are the bigger ripoff to me!
