Switch includes two cards that talk about the two ways to earn credit. First, as a member, you earn $10 in purchase credit for every month you're a member.
You can also earn $10 toward your membership for every friend you refer.
Here's a little card to explain the way the subscription works. (Maybe I can use this to convince the friends I refer...)
Miansai Modern Screw Cuff Necklace in Yellow Gold - Retail Value $450.00, Member Price $250.00
Okay, first, I probably wouldn't wear this necklace with this tee—I just had to try it on as soon as I got it! I feel like this could look really cool with a scoop-neck sack-style dress. Something super modern, y'know? I was into trying something adventurous with this subscription. (Why not get something super chic when I have the chance?) I do love the unique, hardware-inspired shape. To put it on is a bit of a hassle, as you have to unscrew that horizontal bar, pull it through the hole it's threaded through, slide the piece around your neck, then do the whole process in reverse. But more importantly, this piece didn't lay quite as nicely as I thought it would. I love structural, avant-garde pieces, but this piece fell a little flat. I should note that you can spin it around the other way, too, but it wasn't as comfortable, in my opinion. I think it's sitting the right way, based on where the hinges fall on my body? (You might be able to get a better view in the photo with the earrings—it's up next!)
Chanel Camelia CC Drop Earrings - Retail Value $500.00, Member Price $350.00
I initially thought these earrings were black, but it turns out they're a really deep olive. They have a different vibe than the other pieces in the box, but I really like them. They're incredibly lightweight and effortless to wear. I like that they have a youthful, yet sophisticated vibe. They'd make great everyday earrings, or given their gold accents, they could easily find their way into something fancier.
(Also, necklace folks—see what I mean with how it lays? When I reverse it, the U-shaped loop pokes out over my collarbone rather than laying flat. To be honest, I also just like the idea of showing off the most unique part of the necklace in the front instead of having it hidden behind me. This all might be just an issue of how this necklace fits me, rather than how the necklace fits everyone, though. Have you tried this style before?)
Miansai Modern Flat Cuff Bangle - Retail Value $149, Member Price $100.00
This bracelet is so cool! But it is also so so so tight. It's the kind of piece that I'd want to drift freely up and down my wrist. Instead, it stays put, clinging rather mercilessly right above my wristbone. It has a 6.5" circumference, which I for some reason, assumed was roomier than it is! It's a shame since this was definitely my favorite design out of everything in the box! It's modern, sleek, unique, and super cool.
Verdict: I nabbed some pretty adventurous pieces with my first-ever Switch order! For that reason, I'm not totally surprised that some things worked and some things didn't. But that's what I like about a subscription service like this! Whatever I don't like, I can return in a snap and replace with something new. It's a great way to try before I buy, or just try and... keep trying until I find something I love and want to buy! At $69.00 for three pieces, this service is pricier than Rocksbox (which offers mid-range designer jewelry) but less than Rent the Runway (which offers designer jewelry, accessories, and clothes, too). Given that just one of the pieces I rented retails for almost double that cost, I feel like it's a fair price to pay for access to so many pieces from beloved designers. And for me, I just love getting to experience the artful, trendy, high-fashion designs I admire in the magazines!
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? This exact box? Well, once I return these pieces, they'll be available again, haha! You can, however, always sign up and shop the oodles of other earrings, necklaces, and bracelets they offer!
Value Breakdown: These three pieces cost $69.00 to rent, which is a great deal if it works for your budget and needs. (To rent just one piece per month is $29.00, so you're saving about $6.00 per piece.) To buy them at retail, these items would cost $1,099.00 in total. So renting saves you about 94%. (Not bad at all!) And don't forget that your first month can be half off with our coupon (LOVEMSA)!
Also, the member price for all of the pieces is $700.00 in total. But remember, you get $10.00 off because you're a member! So that's $690.00 to buy everything. You're saving $409.00 with these member prices (a.k.a. 37% of the cost).
