Hugs Pet Products Teeter Rocker – Value $4.60

When I saw this in the package, I was pretty sure Monkey would like it. And I was right. This is a cardboard rocker (see some other photos of it in action with kitties below) that has a hard plastic ball with a bell inside. There are also holes your cat can reach through to touch the ball. Monkey really likes hard, noisy ball toys, and he spent a good long time rubbing his chin on this. Angus also seemed interested.

Smarty Kat Teaser Wand Sneaky Waver (2 pack) – Value $9.99

And here we have two toys on the ends of sticks. Toys like this are pretty much guaranteed wins because Angus loves them, but Sneaky will usually play with them too. Not surprisingly, both of them were interested.

Loving Pets It’s Purely Natural Freeze Dried Chicken (0.6 oz) – Value $3.26

This is pretty simple freeze-dried chicken. This is not my cats’ favorite type of treat, but Sneaky and Angus will eat it and they both seemed to enjoy this. I do like the single ingredient here – no worries about grains or other things cats can’t have.

Omega Paw Cranberry Cabernet (3 oz) – Value $2.99

I’ve received this treat before – there’s actually a whole product line of alcohol-themed treats for cats (don’t worry, there is no actual alcohol in them). Sneaky and Madison both liked these. What I like is there’s a bit of cranberry extract. Sneaky had to go back on prednisolone for her asthma and has some urinary problems as a result, so I like the idea of giving her a bit of cranberry (I always give her a few treats before and after her Flovent inhaler).

And now, the real reason you’re all reading this review…

Angus likes treats! (He has calicivirus which gives him that eye discharge and makes him sneeze sometimes, but he is otherwise fine.)

Angus will reliably attack toys like this. Look at those claws in the second picture!

If there are treats, I can get a picture of Sneaky like this.

Sneaky bites a stick!

Sneaky liked this feather toy, too.

It’s a bit hard to tell from the photos, but Monkey spent a long time rubbing his chin on this.

I’m not sure what is going on with his face here…

Did I ever mention it was difficult to take photos of black cats?

Madison will usually come out for treats.

Mr. Kitty is old and spends most of his time sleeping. He would love to have the treats but his IBD means he can’t. (He has picked up Angus’s calicivirus, hence his eyes looking irritated – but he is not in pain. We have an appointment with the kitty eye doctor soon, too.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of $20.84 for the September Pet Treater Cat Pack. That’s quite a respectable value for a $12.99 cat subscription box. Although Mr. Kitty wasn’t feeling very playful, each of my other four cats found one or more items to enjoy from this box. The treats were fresh and far from expiration and we didn’t have these particular toys already. This box was a pleasant surprise for me.

What do you think of the September 2017 Pet Treater box? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?

  1. Just canceled my kitnipbox for this. So much cheaper and all I really need 🙂

  2. I always love reading your kitty treat/toy reviews! 😻

My two feisty felines loved their box (mostly the treats and the feather stick!) but they haven’t touched the little ball in a box thingy.
